what is drop the dead donkey? is it a sketch show or a comedy??

It was a very funny sitcom from the 90's @liampie.,set in a TV news room. The title refers to the often silly or lighthearted items that news programmes often end with.i.e Drop or omit the story about the dead donkey.

I don't remember seeing Drop the Dead Donkey, I know the name, and it always sounds familiarr. I assume by the time I became aware of what I would be watching in the 90s the show had finished, as I have no memories of it.
