was this the season neil warnock was sacked? can any of those who were watching at the time explain why we did not give him longer? it seems he introduced a lot of upcoming talent to our squad and i know we had some great players waiting to get their chances.

the first goal from phil turner? it was a lovely strike.

We actually didn't play too bad that season. We played some good football, had some notable wins too. We still had a chance to avoid relegation until the last 3 games of the season. It was very close.

I felt Neil should have been kept on to try to get us back up to the Premier League the next season.

Selling Tommy Johnson to Derby before the end of the season to Derby was a massive mistake in my opinion. Keeping him till the end could have made the difference between staying up or not. Earlier we had sold Paul Rideout too .

Paul Rideout was sold to help fund the redevelopment of Meadow Lane, among other assets. I was impressed with how we didn't stick with Neil Warnock. I always felt that he could have turned things around, but it wasn't to be. The creation of the Premier League set us back, and it didn't realistically align with what we could achieve, but our ambition wasn't small. It just could have been better balanced. However, this result was one of those memories from that particular era of our club's history.

@Robbie The signing of Agana was a financial disaster...

I still loved him as a kid.

I thought he was quite decent in the games I saw, although I was quite impressionable back at that age and I know my grandfather wasn't his biggest fan. I think it's more the fee we paid, had he come for a lesser fee or maybe on a free, it might reflect better. It's on the person who paid it, Agana always seemed to score when going to matches or played a part in the build up.
