Quoted from Notts's website.

"Alassana Jatta’s visa application has been approved and he is expected to travel to Nottingham this week.

The 25-year-old Gambian national is joining us from Danish Superliga side Viborg FF, a deal which was completed on transfer deadline day subject to international clearance and visa approval.

Since then, we have engaged a specialist immigration lawyer and taken the necessary steps to fast-track his visa application and we have now received confirmation that he will be eligible to play in the UK.

Jatta, who has continued to train at Viborg since agreeing to the move, must now wait for the visa office to issue the necessary documentation. This is expected to happen in the early part of this week, which will then allow him to travel to the UK.

We look forward to welcoming Alassana to Meadow Lane in the near future. He will wear squad number 29".

Great to see that Alassana has arrived at Meadow Lane to begin a new chapter in his career.

According to what we've seen in the video footage of him playing, he looks a very exciting addition to the Notts team, and he will give Stuart Maynard not just a plan A and B but a plan C too.

Alassana is tall, strong and quick, he will be able to play as a central striker, up front behind Macaulay or Didzy, or even on the wing. He will be useful at set pieces either attacking or defending with his extra height.

He may have arrived to late to be considered for the Wrexham match, but we will see.

Now wouldn't you just want one of those Jodi crosses to land slap bang on to Alassana Jatta's head.

i really hope the hype does not draw negativity if he does not start well, its reminding me of when we signed danny haynes and izale mcleod. i am sure he will do just fine but there is so much hype and i am not sure its always a good thing.

Under the new rules that allow clubs to sign a certain number of players who wouldn’t otherwise be permitted, it was never going to be rejected. I believe he will provide us with a much-needed boost. However, it does raise questions about Junior Morias.

I believe Alassana Jatta is a suitable choice, we do require height and until he’s given a chance, we simply can’t predict how he’ll adapt to our system. I envision him as a potential replacement for David McGoldrick when he becomes fatigued. I’m pleased that he’s finally joined Notts, will we witness him in action on Saturday?

It is certainly going to be fascinating to see if Stuart picks Jatta either to start, or put him on the bench on Saturday.

I hope that Stuart might rest Didzy and Jatta replaces him up front supported by Macaulay.

When you see people, Jatta is one who looks like a professional athlete and possibly a footballer. I hope he proves his worth here because we need more goals. When you look at our score, there aren’t enough goals. We should have a fair number over or at 5 goals. Many simply haven’t scored or are stuck at one. It would be great to see him bring his scoring boots.

Notts has high hopes that Jatta can make a difference. It might not be immediate, but he’s here and could be someone who might be more useful next season. Now he might need to settle in and get used to things.
