80 years ago today the greatest invasion in history took place as the free world fought back against the Nazis in world war two, I've been watching a lot of the programmes that have been shown on tv in the lead up to today and am amazed at not only the amount of planning involved but the incredible courage of all those involved. So many thousands of lives lost too. I find it hard to believe this all took place less than two years before I was born. Lest we forget

Let Us All Be Thankful for every Brave Man and Women who fought for the Freedom We Have Today. Let us never Forget them, No We will Never forget them, explain to your Children, Grand Children and Great Grand Children the sacrifices the Allied Forces made to stop the Nazi Jack Boot, enslaving all peoples and us having to live under  Tyranny. Because if Hitler and his mob had Won a Great deal of Us Alive today simply wouldn't Be.  I am thankful to both my Grandfathers who fought, I could never thank them properly, for I was very young when they both died and didn't know what they and millions of others went through, for the Sake of Our Freedom.

LEST WE FORGET.

Those brave young soldiers some as young as 18 must have been terrified as those landing crafts reached the beach and the ramps went down. Some were mowed down immediately I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like. We have a lot to thank them for and we should never forget what they did for us.

D Day was such a massive operation in planning, logistics, manpower & the scale of its execution was absolutely awesome.

The planning went on for months and the work done behind the scenes by millions of people that made it all possible.

Then came those brave souls of the armed forces that fought and died on our behalf on land, sea & in the air on that day & for the following 3 months after to take Normandy. They will never be forgotten.

And we shouldn't forget those thousands of French civilians who died getting caught up in the fighting particularly in the City of Caan.

At the going down of the Sun & in the morning, we will remember them.

I watched on the news, an elderly lady talking about her husband. D-Day is always something which evokes emotion and pride in those who fought so bravely. In another 80 years, I hope those who are living continue to respect the brave.

They earned our freedom and those of France.

The word liberation tends to be bandied around lightly when people go to arms, but this was one of the defining moments which ended World War II and should always be treated with respect.

Your Children Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren,  and for Generations yet unborn must be told of their Bravery Sacrifice and it needs to be taught in schools they must Never Be Forgotten.
