May I just ask my fellow PON Members a Favour?

Please Do Not change the titles of my Topics or Move my Topics from Granny Pies General Discussion to Jimmy Sirrel Stand etc,

Because for some Reason when this happens, my Lap Top gets the Hump about it, and it takes what seems like Forever

for me to get back onto the PON Site, despite there being a Dismiss button regarding any messages from fellow Members,

It can take several  attempts  and time to get the Message removed and till it's been removed I can't get back onto the site.

So if things are Spelt Wrong or the Topic is in the Wrong Section, Please leave it how and where it is this will then help with my

Frustration of Not Being Able to gain access to the PON Website.

Thanks WBRM.

Please don’t take this the wrong way but it would help if you put your topics in the right section @Wheelbarrow repair man we like to keep the forum tidy so that it is easy to navigate for members.

@Wheelbarrow repair man: We really could do with topics being located in the correct forum, sometimes they can clash and as a team we make the decision to move them to where is most appropriate.

When a topic is moved, the URL doesn't change.

If a topic title is edited, the URL is updated but the original will just update to the new one in a seamless way. None of these changes should affect your use of the site. If something's off, I can investigate what is causing it, but topics really need to be posted to the correct forum.

@Wheelbarrow repair man if you need any help, please feel free to pm me. i dont want you think i am patronising you, but i am aware things do take time and it can be very confusing when things change.

i would suggest trying to place your topics in the correct forum, then they would not be moved. :)

if you need any help, i am more than happy to try and it would not be problem for me to assist you. i would be happy to try if you need my help or assistance.

Please don’t feel like your topics being moved to the appropriate forum is you being targeted. We are just trying to make sure the community runs as smoothly as possible. If you are having issues, it’s worth reaching out to the gaffer.

Just like Liam has said, I would be happy to help and I am only a PM away if you need it.

Once you get the knack of what goes where, you will find we don’t move content. If you have any questions, please do share them. We aren’t moving them for the sake of it.

@Chris, the community URL has changed to /forum/. This could be the reason why WRM is experiencing so many issues. I just noticed.

I noticed and fixed it now. This must have been caused by the bug from the recent patch. The fix to allow Redis (cache) to work must have overridden the community URL preference. I have corrected this now.

Sorry, @Wheelbarrow repair man, were you getting errors because the topics were linking you to /forums/topictitle instead of /community/topictitle? It makes sense now. I should have thought about it. Unfortunately, this is day three of having a migraine, and I am squinting to see text. No excuse, but I do hope this resolves things.

Thanks, @CliftonMagpie.

@Wheelbarrow repair man

Did you see the following message when trying to return to your topics? If so, this is likely the issue. Somehow the URL changed, but the gaffer has fixed it.

I was posting a new topic & wrote quite a lot and got that message. Think I've lost what I wrote.

Thanks Guys  I've not taken any offence in any of this, it's just the Frustration of finding a Helpful Message pinned on my screen I know I've got sometimes over five minutes before I can get back onto the site. Even when I come off the site and leave it and go elsewhere on the Internet then return back onto the site I can still spend further frustrating minutes before I'm allowed back on the site, Hence My Request. I'm a total Novice at this Computer business and when someone goes on about certain things such as the Community URL has changed , you may as well be speaking in a Foreign Language for all I understand. Sorry.

I know this may be awkward but regarding each forum could you go into Greater detail about what is acceptable in each category. I.E In the Jimmy Sirrel Stand just things about the current happenings at the Lane, or things about Notts in General in Granny Pies General  Discussions. That way I'll know which of my topics goes in which Forum and things wont have to be changed and cause me any problems regarding getting back on the site.

I've just sent this reply and at first I got on my screen was this Page Does Not Exist. Now it does so I'm able to edit this comment.

@Wheelbarrow repair man Anything Notts related needs to go in the Jimmy Sirrell Stand, anything that is not football related can go in Granny Pies General Chat, a post about other clubs can go in the English Football.

It can be a bit daunting at first if you aren’t used to using forums but you’ll soon pick it up and as others have said we can help.
