Good morning wakey wakey you lot, it’s the last day of August and Autumn will soon be upon us, I noticed on our walk yesterday that there are lots of berries on the trees which is supposed to be a portent of a hard winter to come, I hope not. 🥶

I’m going to ring the eye clinic today to see if my appointment can be brought forward, my eyes are no better for using the drops I really need the surgery they offered sooner rather than later.

We had a big electrical storm here last night. It lasted from 11pm to Midnight. Lightening, thunder and heavy rain. It does appear that summer is over for now, but you just never know. Next week we could be back to having plenty of sun once again.

I’ve just realised it’s bank holiday so the eye clinic won’t be open. doh

@Robbie I’m hoping for a mini heatwave in a couple of weeks when we go away for a short break, fingers crossed, as you say you never know with our weather.

Arrived home at midnight, but the journey was well worth it. Just raised my carcass at about 13:30 and all is well. Great Night.

My brother and his family came over so we could give birthday presents to my niece belatedly; it was nice to see them. We don't see much of them now that they live in Derby, but it's always good to catch up with her and my nephew Harry.

I'm tempted to talk Jake into going to see Super today, but with me going yesterday and Donny tomorrow I don't want to overdo it. I will give him a call later; I must have been on the phone to him for over two hours last night (not that I mind). It's nice to let him talk, be put on hold, have the call terminated, and still manage to pick up from where we left. 😁

A field where dreams become reality.

regular day at work, got home i have some spare time and i thought i would check in. i dont get on as much as i should, but i am trying to limit the time i spend online in favour of doing things more in the real world. i will probably drop social media because it does my head in, nobody is ever happy and the complaints around notts just annoys me now.

would much rather stick to this and the official site at this stage.

Up this morning to very loud noises of machines preparing the ground at the side of us for building new houses, 133 of them to be precise. After trying to fight the proposed planning permission and failing, we are besides ourselves with the worry of noise, dust, over parking and non stop removal of debris and delivery of materials. Such is life i suppose, and yes I know we are supposed to embrace and welcome change 😝

@Chris once again nice to hear that family plays a big part of your everyday life and thinking. Nice one my friend.

I have never bothered with social media @liampie as you say too much of everyone wanting to influence and unsettle your life to live in line with theirs. WhatsApp and texting serves me fine, without all the dramas. 😇

Have a great day everyone. 🤠

Good morning everyone.

Wev had noises here over the last few weeks at nighttime as the Council has been retarmacking the through road to our estate. First time it's been fully retarmacked in years. One of the roads connecting our village to the next village has been retarmacked too. It's about 2 miles long. It's nice to see fully retarmacked roads although they are not good for our cars.

Lots of housing development going on in our adjoining village Clipstone at the moment. They've even built houses on the land where the Clipstone mine headstocks still stand. It's seems @Michael D Pie. that they want to build houses in any spare land that's going. Clipstone will be turning into a new Town at this rate.i despair at the amount of farmland that is being lost.

I am working on a project, but I am using the computer at college to browse up on Notts. I would have liked to go to the game tonight, but the late kick‑off puts it out of reach even though it’s close enough in distance.

Sunday took In-Laws to Paul’s Bottesford for Sunday lunch, can highly recommend, Monday visited with card and Andre Rieu tickets. Tuesday back at work as Lollipop Man ( School Crossing Patrol if prefer PC option) I absolutely love it, night trip to Doncaster

It’s great to see some new faces joining in the weekly chat.

@KingofCounty the project sounds interesting, good luck with it.

@nottsnutter well done being a lollipop man a very worthwhile job and I bets it’s rewarding too.

@Michael D Pie. hopefully once the houses are built things will settle down, I hope it doesn’t cause to much of a nuisance for you.

@Robbie weve had a lot of our roads resurfaced too, it’s good to get rid of the potholes.

@liampie its great to see you back on here, I know you get busy but don’t be a stranger we miss you.

@Chris I hope @super_ram is doing ok I miss the old sod 🤣, keep us informed.

its awful, just makes the world a worse place, i only joined to facebook to help chris and pon, it does my head in. i joined x before here, but even that is just toxic. i dont know why our fans have to fight and complain so much.

i miss this place and you will see me around more, just finding more time to do things whilst i am younger that i might not get to do later in life. it helps as there is more to life than work.
