Notts V Crewe

A week ago Notts were looking to gain 3 points  away to bottom club Hartlepool. They lost and subsequently Keith Curle was dismissed but the bad run continued against Stevenage. All this makes Saturdays match vital to kick start your season.A win would go a long way to restoring fans faith,a draw would also be acceptable, another defeat doesn't bear thinking about.I personally think you are due a slice of good luck and if the stand in manager can get the team concentrating right from the kick off and give the forwards some 'shooting boots' think you could sneak a win.

It will be interesting as more talks regarding a striker are appearing, I really think it's one for us to try to take but I don't see many games these days as being 'easy'. Crewe have some very good players, there youth system is one for Notts to take notice of as they do really well. It's been awhile since we have gotten the best out of our own and would love to see Greg Tempest given a go.

We have some good youths, just need to give them a go.

Hoping for the best!

A win is needed now to keep us from going too far down the table. A draw would be ok, but being realistic... we need to start winning again.

We'll see how the second match goes with chris.

A draw would respectable, it's a point but it's now more than ever we need to show our class. I have faith our caretaker manager can keep things a float whilst he's in charge but I hope we do go for someone who can progress with us. I respect Chris and will support 100% but I just feel that if we are to get this season back on track then we need to take the gamble by getting a experienced manager.

Let's get 3 points please!

Fingers crossed buddy, It would be nice. It could be the start to a decent home run! Lets hope so :)

One day to go before we find out the match goes. A point is good, but 3 points is much better.

I hope you win the match on saturday as it is really needed.

It wasn't the best first half, we just didn't get going and allowed them to attack us. This should be something we focus on during training as we waste energy allowing them to hit us. we came alive in the second and I was very chuffed to see John Cofie score on his debut. much better link play and direction in our passing, which we should of gone ahead if we used it more wisely. I felt the referee was fairly poor, he called some odd incidents and some of the Crewe's players are more fragile than a subbuteo player.

Handed many flyers out during half time, then took to focusing on those who exited the KOP. Quite a few comments :)

From what people have said it sounds like a draw was a fair result today. Another case of a poor first half and a brilliant second half, we need to start turning up for 90 minutes. Frustrating day given that so many teams above us dropped points but a points better than a defeat.

Watched Weymouth beat Bedworth United 2-1 today. Very similar story - Weymouth played some of their best football of the season in the first half and looked to be on course for a big win.

Bedworth must have got a rollocking at half time as they were out 5 minutes early, and it had the desired affect when they pulled one back ten mins into the half. They also hit the post shortly after and we were holding on. Last 10 minutes we picked up again and had numerous chances to kill the game but we had to hold on.

Was speaking to one of their supporters before the game, and when he found out i was from Nottingham and a County fan, he spoke to me about Dean Thomas who some of you may remember? Played for us from about 1989 to 94? When he left Notts County he became Bedworth's player manager until 1997, when he became Hinckley United's first ever manager.

He managed the team for 16 seasons, taking charge of 972 games before he resigned on 10th October 2012 with the club bottom of the Conference North and absolutely skint.

Great to hear tales of former players, shame there's not that kind of loyalty to a manager these days!

I recall Dean Thomas, I wasn't aware that he did move into management but he's a player from the days I was pretty young.

Great news! Well done Weymouth! :)

I agree but footballs more of a business than it used to be sadly. It must of been very interesting James having the time to speak with you :) Did you know who he was? I've seen a couple of our ex players around Meadow Lane and when I'm told who they are I feel a fool for not realizing. LOL

Well, after 20 mins of the first half I thought here we go again. Mind you Crewe were well organised. Almost got to halftime all square. Then the penalty was given. One nil down.

Second half was a pleasant surprise. Mahon off an Arquin on. Arquin chased everything. Which pleased me as he has attracted a lot of flack from fans saying he is lazy. I would say this mostly came from those that haven't actually watched him. New boy Cofie had a good debut and scored a great equaliser.

Joe.

Nice to hear that I was spotted in the KOP by Jake. Hope you all enjoyed the game. Flyers distributed.

Mahon was disappointing but it must be hard for him having played so little.

My brother was saying how Arquin is lazy, though not as strongly as I have heard but he did well. I think some people expect a higher standard but he does what he can rather nicely and I feel that he could give more but then the whole team could. (apart from Fabian who shouldn't be called upon as he his, amazing prospect!)

It was nice to talk with you dave! Jake enjoyed it but I think he got a little nervous. He certainly made me laugh with how he said he didn't know you was there etc. He had been waving for a few minutes prior to me asking him why LOL I think he thought you could see him. I'm surprised we did to be honest as the kop looked very busy. PS. He asked me if we could leave a flyer for you (strangely) with a smiley face. I told him no :P
