oldham athletic fills me with memories of 1990/91.  the curious nature of the fixture computer meant that 1st played 4th and 2nd played 3rd on the final day.

we (4th) went to west ham (1st) on the back of a good run in, (WWWWWW i think), and actually won at upton park 2-1.

oldham (2nd) entertained sheff weds (3rd) at home, and beat them 3-2 (from 0-2 down i think) and finished with a very late goal.

this curious set of results resulted in oldham snatching the title, and whilst west ham still celebrated promotion back to the top flight, they'd literally been done at home by little notts county!  we went on to beat middlesborough and brighton in the playoffs, as the top 4 all made it into what was the last ever barclays league first division.

and now look where the respective clubs are - and where they have been since those heady days!

players - well, cristiano montano, john thompson and lee hughes have all played for both clubs - sure that there's a few more...

over to you.
