I was doing a clean out this morning. Found a programme from 2007. Pre season vs Forest. Lee Canoville is in the new signing section. He's a successful coach in Nottingham now. Played 35 games for us.

He's regularly playing in legends/ex player games, though I didn't know he had gone into coaching.

Tim Sandercombe. Hector Sam. Richard Butcher (scored the leveller vs Brentford in my first game at Meadow Lane). Paul Mayo. Myles Weston. Neil McKenzie. Adam Tann. Spencer Wier Daley. These are the other new signings. Weston is the only one still playing in the FL. He's at Southend.

If you look back at a lot of our squads, when players leave, they drift into the conference and below. If that's not an indicator of how poor our recruitment policy has been (and is), I don't know what is.

Canoville used to get slated for his performances. I never thought he was that good, average at best, but some of the slatings were terrible

That was a poor season. Finished 6 points above the relegation zone. Mansfield and Wrexham ( I think) went down.

I thought we were signing him again for a minute :o

If I remember right he was one of Thompson's signings from Boston. Remember him being limited, but a trier. Hope our sights will be set a bit higher this time.
