What are your thoughts on the possibility of Patrick Vieira taking over at the Toon?

He's being paid big, big money by City. This would be mad, he'd have to work for starters! I mean literally for the money.

I thought McLaren was going there, is that on the back burner now? I must keep up with all this latest developments.

@tonyhateley I suspect he will end up there, Newcastle will not beat how much Vieria is reportedly being paid by Manchester City.

It's big bucks and easy money for him, doing something he seems to enjoy too. I see McLaren ending up there but I find the whole thing to be quite iffy, I think the toon really need to shake things up this season.

i think newcastle will come down next season myself, whoever goes needs to be good to prevent that from happening. i would not be surprised to see them in league one either in a few years.

I heard on the radio this morning that McLaren is expected to join them next week, sounded like a done deal.

it does seem a certainty for Steve Mc now. Good luck to him, but he seems never to get a club where the politics are normal, whatever that is!!!

Redbacks...new owner interfering. Derby...very turbulent behind the scenes. Newcastle...well where to start!!!

What was wrong at Derby? If Newcastle hadn't pipped up about wanting him as the manager, I believe Derby would have been promoted but I for one do not blame McLaren for that.

He did a good job but I wouldn't place Derby as a turmoil club.

Behind the scenes, I think even we could take a leaf out of their book. @super_ram

McLaren could do well if he can get money out of the tight are who owns Newcastle. Surely he is worried about the chances if relegation?

Can we blame him for the all the 'ills' of the country too seeming as he is a Tory?

And even worse, a quiet one over the past few weeks. Hold on wrong way around. The only good tory is a silent one. :) welcome back Amigo. Hope all is well.
