Bish has been a fantastic captain for this club and I am sorry to hear that he has decided to stand down from the role. He came on as a substitute yesterday and Leacock offered him the armband and he waved his hand to indicate Dean could keep it. I hope this doesn't mean he won't be with us next season. He does seem to have been unhappy this year with managerial changes and taking comments by a few so called fans to heart. He has always given 100% on the pitch and there has been some memorable moments including scoring a fab goal against Man City and he also likes to use his backside but they all count! Thanks for being an inspirational captain.

This looks set to be paving his way out of Meadow Lane. I don't think anyone will ever forget that goal against Manchester City, sensational moment. The last standing player from the Munto era - all the best Bish.

I'm solely keeping my response on Bishop himself, however I am aware of people and things being mentioned on Twitter but I honestly feel he should say what he wants. (in tone and respectfully - Especially if some fans can't even do this) It would be a shame but I said we can cope without him, it's sad but true. No player makes a team but he does largely impact ours.

He's been a credit to our club, I feel he does lead and a-side from him I would say Liddle is the clear cut candidate from our existing squad.

I spoke to MagBri about this, he mentioned Dean Leacock and Gary Liddle. I'm unsure about Deano, he's a great player but a little too vocal for my liking and he would be worse on twitter in my opinion. He's passionate don't get me wrong but the swearing for example would not make him an ideal role model, the captain needs to be someone fans and youngsters look up to and Bishop does this well.

He doesn't pick fights or seem to blame, he might not be a traditional styled captain but his passion does shine.

Lastly, I would be sad to see him go because he's a good player but I can't pretend to see how we wouldn't cope, as we would. Yet, this doesn't mean I want to leave or be stripped as captain. I think we're very limited as a club and should choose wisely, not many players I would give the arm band too personally.

I'm hoping hes not leaving, especially as alot of players in the team seem to be leaving this year. I know the club doesn't have the biggest budget but we can surely keep hold of some of the great players.

It's always sad when there's speculation about a valued and popular player. I'm afraid there will be a lot more before too long at all clubs. We just have to cross our fingers and put our trust and faith in our managers and owners.

Same with Judge, i wish he wasn't leaving. Do we actually hold onto good strikers or let them all go for free transfer recently? I was hoping that was a rumour, but obviously not. I hope Bishop doesn't go aswell though.

I'd be sorry to see Bish go, he's one of my favourite players and I believe he actually cares about the club, he hurts when we lose, it is etched on his face as he trudges off after (mostly) giving his all.

he's leaving

Hopefully we'll find out for sure, yet I think his contract will mostly be seen out. I would hope we'd look to sell, if he is going because I am sure a club would pay for the likes of Neal Bishop. It's pretty sad :(
