I'm not sure this is the right section to post this, moderators/admin feel free to move it.

I just caught something on Radio Red this morning about Nottingham Ladies FC, apparently Ray is/was heavily involved in Lincoln FC Ladies and he has transferred them to Notts County Ladies and they have won a bid to be in the top flight of Ladies Soccer.

This is all much to annoyance of Nottingham Fword Ladies who have missed out on their bid, they are very annoyed that they didn't know they were bidding against another Nottingham team and thought it was Lincoln.

Nice to get one over the Red Dogs, well done Ray.

As usual Radio Red had their red tinted glasses on and had two people from Nottingham Fword Ladies in the studio to interview but no one from Notts County's side to give our version of the story.

Anyone else know anything about it.

Anyone who gets one over 'you know who' gets my vote. :hyper:

It doesn't seem right to me.

I'm not prepared to say what I think, though I think it's good and bad. I would also note - It would be horrible for this to happen visa versa as they shouldn't need to lose their real identity to be accepted in the top league. It's nice of Mr Trew but it does have some sad aspects.

I reckon there is more to this than we know, I have read elsewhere that Notts are banned from speaking about it but Mr. Trew has said that to compare it to Wimbledon moving to MK Dons is ridiculous. No doubt when the ban is lifted we will hear more.

I would maybe go down to see a few Notts Ladies games, could be good.

On another note I presume they will be playing at Meadow Lane, so that will be Notts, Notts Ladies and Rugby all playing on the same pitch, what is that going to do to the surface? Just a thought.

Lincoln Ladies move to Nottingham will kill Fword Ladies according to this article. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-22352456#story_continues_1

Yes, they will be playing at Meadow Lane.

I read somewhere that Mr Trew cannot comment for about 3 weeks while things are going on behind the scenes. It's something to do with the ladies teams having to be affiliated to men's teams

They wouldn't have been accepted in the womens super league otherwise, It needs resolving but hopefully it will blow over. (the speculation)

Yes and joking apart I agree with your comments.

ours is a poor team, if it means we improve and get a better side fair enough.

There's a ladies team affiliated to Derby County, nicknamed The Ewes. They had their application to the super league rejected.

Great name for the Derby ladies team, I wonder what Notts County's Ladies team nickname is? Anyone know what a female magpie is called? Henpie? :-D

Notts County Ladies have signed Canada international Desiree Scott, subject to international clearance.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who joins Notts from Kansas City, has 64 caps and was part of Canada's bronze medal-winning squad at the London Olympics.

I'm getting quite intrigued by the Ladies team. It is quite interesting the way the whole system is playing out with Notts County & Lincoln City.

e.g; I own a Team in Ottawa & Montreal.

Ottawa is the one that is cashing in and seems to be growing, heading to the Finals

Montreal is Dying a slow death, Fans turning their back and disinterested.

I think i'd call that merging?

They've made several impressive signings, I can see them being popular if we keep plugging a way.

A Canadian top ladies player is also being linked.

Notts County Ladies Team are a franchise as far as I'm concerned. No difference between the MK Dons/Wimbledon saga and what happened with Notts/Lincoln. I couldn't support them in a million years. I'd feel dirty to be honest.

Fair enough,

Hope you don't mind, but my thought is, Life is too short to sweat the small stuff. Lincolns loss is our gain. More entertainment on your doorstep.

I guess we have a different mentailty to moving a Dead Team!

Lincoln Ladies weren't a dead team though. They had their support base. Moving teams in England is a big No No. Clubs have roots in the community. They are part of the community. If this was a men's team, Notts would be about as popular as President Assad in Syria......

Another International on the books. http://www.nclfc.co.uk/news/lawson_joins_backroom_staff.html

Can only bode well for the future of our Football Club.

It's very encouraging this, I am hopeful we can add a couple more. Good strong squad being established, on top of an already existing quality team. These signings should really allow our ladies team to push on in the new season!

Did anyone on here meet them on Saturday? They gave my two eldest a free calender. Nice of them to introduce themselves and hopefully drum up some interest/support.

The thing is Dripsey whether you agree with what has been done or not the fact is that it is done now and we can't change it so my thoughts would be to support the ladies, they are now part of Notts County no matter how it happened. I am hoping to get down the Lane to see them and I hope lots of others will too.

I might have to drive to Notts, some very good signings taking place with the lady team.

If they play near to Notts games I might stay up, yet if not I will have to choose. The plus is, if they play London based clubs I will not have to go far at all!

The fact that it is done does not make it right. What would be the reaction if you said the above to Wimbledon fans? Some very choice words I have no doubt. Ask yourself this. Do you want a franchise associated with our club? I don't. It is a stain on our reputation. A reputation that has been built up over the years. How would you feel if Notts County were uprooted and moved to Berwick or somewhere random?
