To bring sense to this I believe its about building for next season, we won't go down and won't go up this season and we would have payed Moniz alot to get rid of him, its about giving him time and seeing how bad we do next season

Not amazed but we need to give him at least a try, the decisions been made and it might work out. We all know it will probably be difficult but if we learn from CK and Derry - it means his number 2 will have to be the one with the wisdom/experience.

*sigh

We're obviously just going to sign a load of dross from across the river and get rid of anyone with any ability.

Can you imagine what Aborah must be thinking now.

I wonder how many long term injuries we suffer in the next few weeks.....

Whats the odds on his number two being Branston Pickle or Al Jezeera under 5's manager, another highly rated load of horse manure

I joked about that to 1862, I hope nothing kicks off because I'm getting a lot of messages from various fans about the appointment. It's a good job I'm out with my family and preoccupied.

Then again I could be 'hit by a bus' tomorrow.

Utterly stupid decision based upon a business formula not a footballing one

Heard all this before, what have they appointed him for, not setting foot in Meadow Lane again blah, blah blah, what happens if he wins his 1st 5 games in charge? Just saying like.

Then everyone will love him and forget what a terrible decision it is, then the second things go bad everyone will turn on him again

we can't do anything about it now, we just have to hope and pray it all works out, but he just seems like a prat

The powers that be at the club have surpassed themselves once again. What on earth is the logic behind this appointment? The reason we sack a manager every six months is that we keep doing things like this.

So he interviewed well? Whoppee do. If you're going to appoint a novice (something we had no need to do anyway) the logical thing to do would be to promote from within. That way you can see the potential manager at work, see how he ticks and use that experience to assess whether he's ready for the top job. But this is just insane. Even Kiwomya knew the club and the board knew him. The only similar appointment I can think of is Ian McParland, and look how well that turned out.

I want to see Jamie Fullarton applauded at the next home game though. He was perfectly entitled to go for the job and if he's confident in his abilities let us hope that his confidence is well-placed. My ire is aimed at the board for this foolish move. I can only hope that they have somehow managed to stumble across a gem.

Do you think he'll win all 5 first games then?

If we win the next 5 games and win promotion then I'll congratulate Ray Trew on his luck and enjoy a delicious slice of humble pie!

Point being shouldn't we at least give the guy a chance before tearing him to shreds, I'm old fashioned like that, I know McParland was a mistake but not all Scottish managers are too shabby.

I agree, I'm not angry at him, but at the people who appointed him.

I won't look silly if he does, that's all I'm saying.

I don't care if I look silly if I win @1862's iPhone ;)

Good luck to the lad but to have no managerial experience at all! Not even non league for a bit! I'm surprised! Another gamble from mr trew. I really hope it's a successful appointment for him but I'm shocked he didn't play it safe with a league manager.
