Would You Buy A Car From A Mansfield Fan?

Further to my "Am I mad" thread, the blue car I have decided to have is from a Citroen dealership when we were discussing the deal the salesman asked me my email address for the form he was filling out and because it had magpieman in it he deduced that I was a Notts County fan and pulled a face and said something that sounded like "uurrrgghhh".

"Oh a Notts County fan" says he "I don't think I can do business with you" he added with a cynical smile.

"Why not?" says I, fearing the worst.

"I'm a Stags fan" says he.

"Oh, that's all right, I thought you were going to say you were one of those from over the river" says I.

"Oh God no, I'd rather stick red hot needles in my eyes" says he.

At this we had a good laugh and the deal was struck, actually Stags fans aren't that bad, I got a good deal out of him. Picking the car up on Tuesday.

LOL.. I've had this, quite a few times.

Funny stuff, though I used to never be good at it and before I matured, I would be a little unpleasant when people joked about Notts.

I get used to jibes about Notts, our next door neighbour is a Fword fan and they came round for a coffee the other day, he saw my Notts County mug and said something about a lot of mugs watching Notts County. :censored:

Haha good little story. Used to be the same as you Joe, used to get a bit arsey when anyone had a go at Notts but I suppose you grow out of it.

Had to laugh the other week I was at a Weymouth Ladies match, and I had my Notts County cap on. This couple walked past me and the man said "Notts County eh?"

I just smiled and said yep, and his partner pointed to her coat which had a f*rest badge on it! I jokingly said "oh not another one you lot get everywhere" and we had a good laugh about it. To be fair the man had been to cheer on Notts at Bournemouth in April and he spoke of how we would deffinatly have got a result if the ref wasn't so biased. Turns out they had moved down here aswel after holidaying down here numerous times.

Small world eh? You'd be amazed at how many middlanders there are down here. There's a house I travel past on the way to College every day which has a flagpole in the garden. And on that flagpole, occasionally flies a f*rest flag, among others. One day that may myseriously dissapear... ;):P

Very funny Tony... i think i may have heard that one before somewhere.

@weymouthPIE Its like that when we go on holiday to skeggy, its surprising how many people come from nottingham who are there at the same time. Quite alot of them are unfortunately Forest fans too.

The brother-in-law of one of my mates was a stags fan  and we often saw him in the pubs at the weekend..The only time he raised the subject of football was if the Rams had had a bad result(This was in the Cloughie senior era and just after). He'd come out with comments like-'I see Derbys  lost again,' and continue by deriding Derby and generally putting The Rams down. This was like a red rag to a bull to some of my mates who rose to the bait.I used to just sit there quietly, drink my beer ,and wait for a break in the arguments that followed and then say to him-'Derby are (1st, 4th, 9th or whatever position) in the top division, where are Mansfield? and smile. He didn't like that and would usually shut up and go. :super::sheep:

Never, ever reveal your password to anyone Joe!

This is a serious breach of confidentiality, I hope that Super Ram will be dealt with severely.

Just to put the matter straight-when I come to log in on PoN there are several user names automatically appear as  other family members sometimes use this computer. I accidently clicked on as Joe and didn't notice at first.. I blame my watery eye and apologise sincerely.

I will sit in a corner with a pointed hat on my head all day to atone :super::sheep::confused1:

Haha!

It's okay, I'll get you to write some lines out. (I say 'I'll', though it will be Ellie)
