Jeff Joins Fleetwood

Jeff Hughes has decided not to sign a contract extension at Meadow Lane and his instead signed a two year deal at Fleetwood Town, allegedly with a six figure signing on fee.

Surprised he's joined Fleetwood and very dissapointed we couldnt keep hold of him myself. Whilst he may not have been as sharp last season as he was the previous season (although he has been in and out and played here and there) he seemed to be re-discovering his form towards the end of the season. Always very reliable and a great asset to us. Can see this being a case of not quite realising what we had until he leaves.

Still, best of luck for the future Jeff!

This is news I didn't want to hear, I think Jeff is an asset to Notts. and he will be missed but what's done is done, lets see how the team takes shape.

Proud to be a Notts County Supporter for over 60 years.

At the end of the season awards this lady asked if he would re-sign, he said something like 'I'd like that'. She'll be gutted, though I am myself. I do feel we can improve but this all depends if we can find someone who can play on the left or right side. It's a shame to see him go, I had hoped he would sign but good offers will attract players. Nobody can say Jeff's a traitor or a money grabber, we should have deals tied up before others come in for them.

Important players should be offered deals asap.

I think we missed out due to the fair play rules, possibly the club hoped to get restructured deals. It's more plausible than other things I have read, though I am sure many don't know.

A field where dreams become reality.

I've met him twice (in three times in Notts is a good number) and spoke personally with him. He's a good boy a I like his kind of play.

Can't understand why he's leaving. I think he was also upset for Judge's leaving and he thought there are no more possibilities to reach the play offs next season, so he decided to have a new adventure.

Thanks and good luck

Another player left. I think most of last seasons players are slowly leaving. I hope we hold onto some more of them as alot will be missed and hard to fill their places as we have already seen.

At the moment it's all about players leaving. Some clubs are starting to make signings and the longer it goes on before we do the more I worry about the quality we will sign. I don't want to watch a relegation battle next season!!

In all seriousness I wouldnt expect us to sign any big names or much already seen quality anyway. Not with the budget we will have to work with and the clubs focus on bringing through youth which has to be the way forward.
