Who will win the World T20 2016?

Featured Replies

Now we've reached the semi-final stage and England have got past Afghanistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka, who will win?

One thing for sure it won't be Australia!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fancy England to beat New Zealand, given the semi is at Dehli which has a bit of pace in it, but lose to India in the final (unless Kohli is injured)

I wouldn't write off the Windies against India, not with Chris Gayle in their side, the man is a wrecking machine if he gets in. I actually think that the winner of England V New Zealand will win the tournament and if we had a better bowling line up, I would say that we would be favourites because in Hales, Roy, Butler and Stokes we have really destructive batsmen, but not forgetting the fact that Root and Morgan can tick along at more than a run a ball as well.

It's looking more and more like bowlers are going to have to change their approach to 20/20 now, as it appears that they need to go for less than 10 an over instead of 8. They need to learn how to change their bowling action to deceive batsmen and use the crease more, plus mastering the Yorker. It will become boring if 200 is the norm every innings as I love to see bowlers charging in and skittling top orders.

Can I just say, I know nowt of cricket. Tis an horrible sport, very, very dangerous.

No idea but any closely connected to the UK.

More players outside the circle would help.

NZ 153 for 8 after 20, excellent bowling from Jordan, Stokes and Moeen Ali

I think that's about 30 less than we would have expected to be chasing at the half way stage, a good recovery from England.  Let's hope the batsmen can do the business.  I refuse to pay for Sky on principle, so I'm following the game on the cricinfo text commentary.  They have recently added an instant video clip of all the important bits, so I still see some of the action.

What right do you have to tell me I'm wrong?  You're not my Granddaughter.

20 short I'd say. Now I'm really nervous. You should be listening to TMS!

The England women threw away a winning position earlier, but surely 80 from 13 overs with 10 wickets in hand is an easy task.

Like you say, if any team can throw it away, it's England!

Never looked in doubt even after the two in two balls scare.  A really impressive win from England.

Heathen! ????

Well, that's it then, after my earlier prediction it's England to win it! Great performance from the team after the customary early bowling wobbles, but fair play to them as less than 180 is an easy chase with our line up.

Windies to beat India now, which should set up a belting final.

Great effort by the Windies to chase down that score, a partnership of 80 off 6.3 overs to win it when all looked lost shows that they are more than just Chris Gayle.  Even so, England now have a great chance to win it.

So did I @ivansneck, but this West Indies side is hungry and I am really impressed by them. There is such big money available for 20/20 that it makes sense for a lot of players to specialise in the format, especially if they are getting peanuts for playing in tests.

It looks as though the final could now be a run fest, so the winners will probably be the team that bats second.

It will and I think I heard on the radio that Darren Sammy has won 9 on the trot, so he must be due to lose one!

Gutted. After 39 overs I thought we were actually going to win...

Me too.  I thought 19 off the last over was too much to ask.  Fantastic hitting from Braithwaite, but as good as Ben Stokes has been for England, I'm afraid he bottled it this time.

Wrong man left at the death unfortunately and just bowled like a drain. 6 Yorkers was all we needed that final over, or even a few halve volleys, just anything that stops the batsmen from getting his bat under the ball.

Great effort to get that far and it looked as though they had blown it with only getting 155.
