Derby beat Notts 2-1 on this day in 1895 in a "test" match.......you were at the game?......hahahaha

Derby also moved to the Baseball ground the same year, but not sure of the date?

You didn't play at the Baseball ground until 14th Sept 1895.......due to building works raising the capacity from 4,000 to 10,000?

You're Derby Cricket Ground venue was either being used for cricket or horse-racing?, so the Test Match v Notts was moved to Leicester on 27th April 1895

Edit....the Test Match Play-offs v Notts were played at Leicester Fosse ground because it had to be a neutral venue?

Test Matches 1895

The test matches were a kind of play-offs, in which the bottom 1st Division teams faced the top 2nd Division teams. The 1st Division teams, if coming out as winners, would retain their places in the division. If a 2nd Division team won, it would be considered for 1st Division membership through an election process. Losing 2nd Division teams would stay in the 2nd Division.

27 April 1895
Bury (2nd Div. Champions) 1–0 Liverpool (1st Div. 16th)

Ewood Park
Attendance: 5,000

27 April 1895
Derby County (1st Div. 15th) 2–1 Notts County (2nd Div. 2nd)

Filbert Street
Attendance: 8,000

27 April 1895
Stoke (1st Div. 14th) 3–0 Newton Heath (2nd Div. 3rd)

Athletic Ground
Attendance: 10,000

Test Match Consequences

Of the winners, Bury were elected into 1st Division, while Derby County and Stoke remained in 1st Division.

Of the losers Liverpool were not re-elected to 1st Division and were invited to join 2nd Division, while Notts County and Newton Heath remained there.

The first Rams match I attended was on Saturday10th March 1956.We lost 3 - 1 at the Baseball Gtround in Division 3(North) to eventual champions Grimsby Town. The Rams finished 2nd but only 1 team (1 from the 3rd Division North  and 1 from the 3rd Division South) team was promoted. The attendance was 33,330 which is higher than this seasons highest I Pro attendance.

I don't know about @super_ram, but it's MY 50th anniversary of my first football match on May 4th. I'm looking for a game to go to in order to celebrate. Real Madrid vs. Manchester City sounded good until I looked at the price of getting there!

4th May 1966 was Leicester City vs. Everton at Filbert Street. It turned out to be Peter Shilton's debut!

Keep an eye on the playoffs for the non league. They finish this weekend and then the playoff dates will be announced. Bound to be one or 2 on May 4th I'd imagine.

Edit: I was correct. Here you go:
