ooks like tomorrow now , just been on oafc fans boards , my oh my they aren't happy , seems they aren't happy with the owner ect ect ect, I felt like I was reading our boards ,

Think JS will be boss tomorrow, out of embargo next week , a raft of new players , a more positive place creeping in ,

This is NCFC please wake me up if I'm dreaming.

I jus asked alieen about it and why Nottingham post are reporting it this is the response I got

 1. I have no reason to accuse radio nottingham of lying. If they are mistaken, so be it.

2.why do you think I would know what goes on in the minds of people in a totally different company from me? Is it an excuse to have yet another dig?

3. why do you think they are incorrect?

have a think.

I see the old siege mentality is alive and well! How would you take this as having a dig! The sooner the current owners are gone, the better. Better for themselves as much as us. It will be a weight off their shoulders surely.

tbf, what you actually wrote, if you are going to be quoting private messages, (and why didn't you just ask publicly if you are going to report the response on the forum)..was  - Why are radio red lying when they say Sheridan is coming in the next few days..

have a good weekend all. I'm away for a week with now my hubbie and kids. COYP

@Modern Fan 1862 👍 It is an unacceptable practice to quote private messages unless you have the decency to ask prior permission to put such response on a public forum.

Ray Trew has revealed how John Sheridan's ambition to take Notts County to the Championship won him the top job at Meadow Lane, saying: "It was like music to my ears."

In an exclusive interview with the Post, the Magpies owner said he is confident his new manager can bring the good times back to the club after persuading him to leave League One Oldham Athletic.

Sheridan has signed a three-year contract – and the appointment has generated a real buzz of anticipation among the fans ahead of the new season.

Trew said there were three candidates vying for the job, but Sheridan's track record allied with his determination was significant.

"There were three candidates in the running and they all would have got the fans buzzing," he said.

"But in the end we decided on John, who has obviously worked with the chief executive, Jason Turner, at Newport and Plymouth.

"They have an excellent relationship and John's track record has proven what a good manager he is.

"He's won the League Two title with Chesterfield, he's won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy too.

"He's been to the play-offs with Plymouth and Oldham.

And the job he did last season with both Newport and Oldham again was magnificent.

"He is a strong character, he wants to go on a journey and the fact he wants to take Notts into the Championship was like music to my ears."

"John and Jason will sit down on Tuesday and go through the squad," said Trew.

"He will be given a very competitive budget to bring in players because we want to get out of this league."

The club are expecting to come out of their transfer embargo next week which will enable Sheridan to move for players. And he is excited by the challenge.

"Notts County is a big club – far bigger than its current league position suggests," he said. "Having taken Chesterfield to the League Two title, I know what is required to succeed and get the club back to a higher level."

This doesn't sound like an owner selling up. From this, you could conclude that RT made all the decisions, and not a new owner waiting in the wings.

Pains me to see this quote 'Championship was like music to my ears', it's like deja vu.
