Easily the worse lose by a Scottish team in European football. The winner was scored by a policeman. Callum McGregor should come back to Notts, the higher standard in L2 will make him a better player..........:-)

Scottish football really has sunk to its lowest ebb and we think we have problems in England!

I remember the days when most English top flight sides had plenty of Scots in them and the sides of the 70's used to beat England easily and could qualify for the World Cup when we couldn't. Nowadays, other than Darren Fletcher, I struggle to think of any other Scottish footballers of note.

What are they doing so wrong with their youth?

The domestic game in Scotland is in dire straits. Maybe Rangers return to the top flight will help to improve the standard. Even if they got back to where the game was before Rangers were demoted, that would be progress.

Gordon Strachan has done a decent job as manager of the national side but Scotland need a lift like qualifying for the World Cup or Euros and that doesn't look likely right now.

Scottish football needs to take a long hard look at itself from underage to senior and see what can be done. The Welsh, NI or ROI domestic leagues aren't as strong as Scotland, yet these 3 qualified for the Euros. Scotland should be asking themselves why can't we?

Maybe Scottish football has suffered as a result of the money in the game in England and the fact that teams here have more overseas players so they aren't selling players down here so maybe there revenue is a significant amount less hindering the development of there younger players, they have suffered, I can remember those days when lots of Scottish players were in our English leagues.

Heard this morning...Celtic have applied to UEFA to get the game replayed.....because a gas fitter in the Gibraltar's team midfield wasn't CORGI registered :D

If you learn something from every game, there shall come a point in time, when you should never lose... Jimmy Sirrel

I would love to see Callum McGregor back but Celtic have rejected good bids for him, one from Premier League team and two from Championship clubs.

I don't read that much into friendlies, especially with big clubs like Celtic - they go to the games thinking it will be a walk in the park and that is often enough the reason as to why they lose. I can recall Arsenal losing in a pre-season friendly (I think it was Walsall) they made a huge thing of that, yet come the season they still did well. Amusing though, I wonder if any of the little clubs players will have attracted interest from this single game?

That seems how football works these days. What do you think @Northants Pie?

Like the previous post said it was a friendly but the attitude was the same. I watched the game on by sport and Celtic went out with an attitude that is never going to win any game.

They reminded me so much of ourselves when we played that non league team in the fa cup last season.

I know people will say their pro's etc etc but for the most part in you (being anyone who reads this) would be classed as a proffessional at your job as you get paid for it and it is what you do regularly but how many days have you gone in and for whatever reason can't be arsed, no matter what is said or done you still can't be arsed by the time you finish?

It will always happen at every level no matter the job / proffesion.

As for being noticed you never know, look at DJ Campbell, clubs knew of him but his reputation whether right or not proceeded him yet he displayed his talents to the money men and look where he got to
