Donga He sold!

Featured Replies

I can understand the frustrations.

I have also just been on Twitter to look up what Alan Hardy has been tweeting and I am horrified by his reactions, he seems to be on the defensive which is a common sign for someone who might not be telling the full truth with what is being said. As we have seen previously, liars like to claim all sorts of things and they want you to really believe them.

Perhaps if this is the case it's more of a half truth situation?

Maybe Alan thought the offer was good but didn't want to provoke a reaction by outright selling him. If you claimed there was nothing you could do, which I am sure there is. At least some reasonable people would understand, again this is speculation.

I just don't know why he can't understand and put some of the tweets directed to him as frustrations. I wouldn't want any young family member of mine [not that I do] being tweeted so disrespectfully by a middle aged man.

Like everyone else, when I read of He's departure, I was gutted at first that I wouldn't be seeing this young man play in a Notts shirt. I'd been EXCITED at thatΒ prospect since watching him at Roy's Rolls and Basford and so looked forward to seeing him play 1st Team football for US.

HOWEVER, having now seen AH's posts and done a bit of research, it very much appears that WE WERE LEFT WITH LITTLE AND NO OPTIONΒ BUT TO LET HIM GO.

I hadn't realised that under EPPP Compensation Rules, hadΒ we not let him go once he'd notified the club he wished to leave,Β we'd have been subject to relying on aΒ Tribunal valuation - for a 17-year old lad who's notΒ in the first team. ThatΒ would obviously have affected anyΒ vaΒ£uation placed on him by that Tribunal and it appears the club took (what they consider to be a decent fee) rather than let aΒ (negative valuation) happen. That, appears to have been the ONLY way forward, under those very difficult circumstances.

In addition, at only 17 years old, I understand there'sΒ NO Contract between him and the club that could have been upheld, so chances for us to 'capitalise' - apart from thisΒ 'deal' with his new club (that may/may not involve 'clauses') - was ALL there is.

It's clear AH was unaware of the EPPP Compensation Rules too, when he wrote admonishing the Trews and also only recently became aware of interest in He and he justifies his shock at what was 'available' to be done by writing to the EFL Chief, only he says, to discover the rules are PL run/controlled!

I also understand that WWFC were one of THREE PL clubs who came after him, so don't believe - once he'd got his 'PL head' and 'PL ambition on' -Β there'sΒ much that could have been done, by anyone, to persuade him he'd be better off staying at a L2 club. (However much I believe he'd have made our 1st Team this Season so could/should have gained valuable experience here before making such big decisions about what, should be, a long future).

It can't go unnoticed too, that WWFC areΒ Chinese-owned (Fosun International) with the club having done a deal in 2017 with a Chinese TV company, to live-stream, via pay-per-view, their games to millions of Chinese nationals.Β Β

In light of all of this, I'm not at all surprised that Dongda He had his head turned andΒ has seen his future, elsewhere.

Good Luck to the lad.Β BUT also 'good business' for NCFC,Β however thoroughly disappointed this has left me, (and loads of others) personally, feeling!

Very disappointing, it is not the fact we sold him it is the idea that we probablyΒ sold him for less than 100kΒ which is not a good deal in my eyes. I mean I could be wrong as we have no idea of the fee, but Wolves are not stupid they would've bargained for this deal right until it was at it's very cheapest. Good luck to the lad but he will never make a premier league appearance in the coming years and unfortunately rot in a new Wolves loan system just like Chelsea, lad was too young to understand what he was getting into. Chased the dream but the dream will soon become a nightmare.

I'm struggling to put into words how I feel.

There's a lot of disappointment going through my mind, yet I am excited for Donga He - he seemed to have a bright future and I do hope for the best for him. I just feel Notts have been very quick to market the lad, now we know why there was such a rush to field some of the youngsters. He told me and @Magic magpieΒ that he had signed a professional deal and had been told he would fit into the first team plans.

@super_pieΒ and his friend Callum really took to him.

I hope it's the decision for both parties, I would be annoyed if Wolves wasted his career and stopped his pathway into the first-team.

Fantastic bloke has a bright future such a humble bloke as well. At least @super_pie has his autographΒ

@samwatto2008Β - it was interesting to read of this investigation by BBC Sport.

It would appear that ourΒ club's ONLY claim's on He would have been to seekΒ Academy costs in any 'sale' (of a non--Contracted player) who'd given his written intention to leave NCFC - or face a Tribunal 'valuation' of him.

AH was obviously so shocked at our club's 'options' in this that he took the trouble to write to the EFL CEO. "Run and controlled by PL" is what he was told, and THAT, unfortunately, is how it would appear to be.

This may, of course, be the exact reason why Hudderfield (and maybe others soon) don't feel the 'worth' of an Academy.

annoyed, disappointed but i understand that sometimes you cant keep hold of promising good players.

i think it does show that youngsters have little chance of making it into the current notts setup and if they are any good, they will be sold. its something we have to get on with.
