The magic of the fa cup

Recommended Posts

So the draw for the first round of the fa cup has been made and for the lucky non league teams who have managed to out last the four qualifying rounds this is there chance to write there own chapter in the fa cup history books.

The underdogs has long been refeared to teams who come in to a game with the odds stacked against them and for some reason that label in the fa cup has sparked teams in to the folk law of the fa cup.

Where the common man playing for a amateur or semi pro can fulfill dreams and make it to the Stamford bridge anfield. But needing to survive six  rounds first.

This has been done before the Blyth spartons , Crawley , just name two Crawley making to old Trafford Blyth refusing to surrender and making it all the way to 3rd round.

But for me the teams I remember was little chesterfield against Middlesbrough chesterfield refusing to bow and after being 2-0 they battled there way back to earn a replay. Heading in to the replay people thought that Middlesbrough would walk it they didn’t chesterfield went a head not once but three times. Tired and exhausted they got a goal in extra but with seconds to go Middlesbrough forced penalty’s where chesterfield finally succumbed to the premiereship team. Beaten but by no means disgraced chesterfield had arrived showing that any team can have its day.

Notts county against Manchester City and Swansea as well we have played our part in the magic of this daring to dream pushing the big dogs all the way and earning the respect that comes with it.

All I can say is shocks are coming giant killings two...

What are you guys and girls memories of the fa cup.?
