Magpie Player

I see that the club are now putting highlights of matches on their YouTube channel, so why I am paying £37.99 for Magpie Player?

Seems to me I can get all the goals on the youtube channel and I'm not bothered about the interviews because they are always the ones that are broadcast on Radio Nottingham.

I've been disappointed by this but it would seem I get labelled as negative.

I've mentioned here and on PoN's wall, it concerns me and if I voice something I honestly do it because I care. If you listen to the radio you get the reactions, it's a shame and I honestly believe more fans will drop the service. People say it's only 30 seconds, though it should only be some and not all in my opinion. Those who subscribe will drop it in my opinion after learning :(

I think I for one will drop it when my current contract runs out because I don't see the point really, the goals are now on youtube and of course the football league show, the interviews are on the radio and I'm not bothered about the commentary because I can get that on radio too.

I guess the commentary is really good for someone who lives out of the area or abroad but for me I might as well just switch the radio on and listen to it.

I've been wondering this of late. I've noticed for the last few years they've been putting the price up very sneakily every now and then. I would cancel my subscription due to the fact all the highlights are available on YouTube, and all the interviews are aired on Radio Nottingham, plus they are written up in the Evening Post & on the official site. The only reason I'm keeping it is for the live commentary to be honest, even though I very rarely listen to that anymore. I only tend to listen to a match if it's a Tuesday night & Weymouth aren't playing, or if it's a Saturday & Weymouth's game has been postponed.

Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant service and the media team do an amazing job with all the content on Magpie Player, but I'm struggling to see the point of it other than for live commentary. In fact, those of you up in Notts could probably get commentary via digital radio too!

I don't think anyone can discredit effort, there's many people at Notts who handle multiple roles. Big responsibilities and I wouldn't say anyone's opinion is outline, I actually view this as constructive because we are discussing the matter.

Despite certain people perhaps might not like it. :)
