Where do I begin? I really don't know.

So, 17th take on 24th in League One. No disregard to the Shrews but this is a game that would annoy me to lose, they're a beatable side and even in our current situation we should be able to take the game to them. I don't see them being an 'easy' touch, more a side lacking the quality they've usually been used to surviving with in this league.

That said, if our players don't turn up they have more than enough players able to punish us.

1-0 win for Notts.

Thoughts?

Games against sides in Shrewsbury's position we'll have marked down as a must win game. They're a very difficult side to beat, and had they turned half their draws last season into wins they would have been knocking on the door of the play-offs. They're doing OK so far and are again proving tough to beat. I wouldn't be too dissapointed with a point tommorow but a win would be crucial. The longer this run goes on, the harded it will get to turn it around.

Tommorow is the sort of game that if we win, we'll have to win ugly. We have a very frustrating habbit of playing well but not getting the results, and I think if we're going to win a scrapp game tommorow will be that day.

COME ON YOU MAGPIES!! The rise begins tommorow.

Yes, it is a game we definitely should be looking to get 3 points from but it depends which Notts County turns up, the one that played Wolves should be able to beat Shrewsbury but if the Notts County that turned up against Oldham then we'll probably get thrashed again.

Let's hope SD has instilled a bit of belief into them, I don't care how we win whether it's pretty or ugly we need the 3 points.

this will be one of the game which will highlight the rest of our season, if we manage to get a result it will be kindly reflected on but if we lose which i fear will happen. people will say this is when we got relegated :(

For me, it will depend on what team SD puts out. Stick with as much of my starting 11 as possible, so we will have Boucard in for Fotheringham at least, and let em have it. It would be totally unfair to drop any of the wolves team for this game. And IMO will only ruin the chances of getting good performances out of them in the future, the players need to know that if they turn up, perform well, and get a result (1-0 defeat against wolves was a result), that they will keep their place. As I said, we need a settled side and I think he went with the best one last week.

Usually I'm as optomistic as they come but right now I'm at the point of giving up on this season. 13 defeats from 17 matches is woefull, we're now 7 points adrift of safety. Everyone down the bottom won today apart from us. It seems that everyone else is capable of grinding out results no matter who they play, but we aren't. Thats our 8th odd goal defeat of the season. I just can't see how we can possibly turn it around. When your playing well and still losing matches there's a major issue.

We're out of all competitions, and to me we look destined to finish bottom. Just end the season now and save us any further misery please?

One very depressed WeymouthPIE :( (at least Weymouth won)

I've got to say that even the most optimistic 'Pie must now be feeling that the writing is on the wall.

By the sounds of it another good performance but lacking a cutting edge.

We have really got to start winning and hope that the teams around us start slipping up.

From listening to Colin, it sounded to me like we had a really good outlet in JCR who saw plenty of the ball. This side is not far off being the one to drag us out of the mess we are in. Guys and Gals we need you to continue believing!!!

Forget the old arguments about they aren't good enough for this level, or they are too young it will ruin them, because the first teamers have proved themselves not good enough for this league. So we bring in Hollis, drop Lidl to the bench, Boucard in for Fotheringham, Tempest to start on the left, Murreh on to partner Haynes and there you have it.

I am convinced that not only should this be our side, but that they are good enough, the only exception to this is here we have talked about that "true leader" the "talker" on the pitch, I nominated Sheehan for the captaincy but can concede that perhaps bringing in a specialised purchase with this in mind would be the better option. For me he needs to be either a centre back or holding midfielder. Moncur seems to play in that holding role that is so key to us.

Who knows exactly, but we are not far off being able to escape. IF they keep putting in these performances, it will pay off, you watch mid December we will get a break, one goal in off somebodies arse, and a gift of an own goal or something to win 2-1 somewhere. That will be the catalyst.

Keep the faith, and remember when eating peas....... "use the fork Luke".

Weirdly I predicted the right score, wrong way around - so much for 3-1! lol

I firmly believe and have enough faith we can survive, I hope fans continue to put faith in Notts and even PoN. We can make the difference together, singing and making sure the players know we care about our squad. Getting on to them on Twitter or at live games isn't going to get them to play better, it's going to deflate them and it's back to us and Shaun Derry to pick them up.

Dissappointed we lost, I'm not really happy about that but the performances sounded acceptable.

well now I have had chance to watch the extended highlights on MP.

I am happy with the level of commitment, effort put in by the lads on Saturday. Boucard should have been sent off IMO, the discipline needed to anchor the midfield just isn't there.

I think we were unlucky not to come away with at least a draw. Penalty for the handball and Shrews down to 10 should have levelled it up both score and manpower wise.

Should the goal have stood? From the highlights I didn't see a lot wrong with it.

Getting that first goal could have made a big difference to the result.

WELL PLAYED NOTTS

We didnt get the points that we needed.... we played well but just not well enough to beat Shrewsbury. Lets hope we start playing well enough to win games.

We've been playing better than we were a few games ago so theres an improvement but we need to get the points too.

the match last saturday reminded me about this site, i thought i would come back on. I saw this topic and thought i would add my views. I think both teams played well last saturday but we came away with the points. Before the match i wasn't sure how it would end but i was hopeful. I know how much you needed the points.

Good luck for your next match.
