Ratings vs Weymouth

Slocombe 8 - Critical saves at vital points. Man of the match

Kelly-Evans 6 - Got forward like he always does. His usual solid self

Rawlinson 7 - Good distribution and won everything

Lacey 6 - Too many passes went astray in the first half but resilient defending

Miller 7 - Always got forward when the opportunity presented itself. Attacking threat adds another piece to the puzzle

Doyle 5 - Nearly cost us it all with a stupid pass to Weymouth in our own half. Grafted

Reeves 6 - Too many backwards passes again when there was a good option on further forward. Comfortable on the ball

Boldewijn 6 - Good running in the first half and a few opportunities came down his side

Rodrigues 6 - Work rate was again very good and was picking up space early on

Sam 7 - May have had a slice of luck for the goal but it came from running at the opposition which is good to see. Linked the play nicely

Wootton 6 - Battled away but nothing came for him

O'Brien 5 - Ran about when he came on. Did what he needed to do

Effiong 5 - Like O'Brien, closed out the game for Notts

Slocombe 8 A certain calmness, excellent positioning and some valuable saves, made as he reads the game so well

DKE 6.5 Less influential than normal, but delivers a performance when asked

Rawlinson 6.5 Generally a solid partnership with Lacey.

Lacey 6.5 Defending well, just feel comfortable with the balance than p/ship with Rawlinson brings

Miller 7 Heads and shoulders above Chicksen in terms of keeping possession and passing. Good forward movement

Doyle 5 One major mistake could have cost us a goal.

Reeves 5.5 Slight improvement on the last game  but maybe a dogged away performance was needed

Boldewijn 6 "Bol-de-when" as the Weymouth co commentator pronounced. More involved than of late.

Rodrigues 6.5 Always tries to be the outlet to receive the ball. Team plays better when he is involved

Sam 6.5 Strong running, which is what is needed in this league, produced the winning goal. Effectiveness is key and he does link play well.

Wootton 6 Well marked but other team members stepped up

Slocombe 9 MOM. Great saves and practically won us the 3 points

DKE 7 Such a good player. I wasn't overly convinced at first, but he's certainly grown on me.

Rawlinson 7 Rock

Lacey 7 Rock

Miller 7 Good performance this time from Miller. Solid at the back, tidy in possession and offers something going forward.

Doyle 3 Too slow. Move it faster.

Reeves 3 Too slow. Move it faster.

Boldewijn 6.5 Our best forward outlet.

Rodrigues 5 He's as slow in pulling the trigger as the chuckle brothers in centre mid are at picking a pass.

Sam 6 Nice cross goal. Saw him actually shoot on another occasion, which is a big achievement in this side.

Wootton 5 Tidy lay offs, but not influential.

Ardley 1

Just not good enough against relegation fodder. No disrespect to Weymouth, but they aren't one of the better teams in this league and we barely fashioned a chance against them. Granted, they sat back for the entire team and hoofed it anytime they had the ball, but for all our possession we did absolutely nothing with it. We won because our striker, who plays as a winger, can't cross. We play neat and tidily, but there is no cutting edge and we are so predictable. It's almost as if we're waiting for Enzio to score a worldie of for Rodirgues to dribble past their whole defence before squaring to Wootton. Other than individual brilliance, we don't have an attacking game plan.

Reeves and Doyle are so bloody slow. Not only in physical movement, but passing the ball, it's all well and good but if a team sits back we have to switch the ball from right to left with pace, catching them out of position as they transition. The pace the chuckle brothers do this, their defence has enough time to daydream about what their having for tea that night before they can switch it to the opposite flank.

What is the point of Wolfe? Why can't he get a game, this cried out for somebody that'd do something different. Even Knowles, why not bring him on after our goal, when they had to come out and give him space to run in? Instead we have O'Brien again (defensive negativity) and we are pretty lucky to scrape a 1-0 win at 21st place in the league.

Ardley is lucky that the fans aren't in the stadiums, because there is no way he'll get away with playing such negative tripe.

Not - good - enough.

I didn't watch the stream or listen to the commentary, so these ratings are much appreciated.  I've watched the replay of the goal, and can only conclude that we got very lucky, no way was that intended!  Our defensive record lately is excellent, and it's a good three points in an away game.  Even though our current position in the table looks good apart from Torquay, unfortunately I don't think we are looking anywhere near a promotion side.
