    I think if we can get the right players in, some real quality from the recruiting then I see no reason why not. The good feel factor can go a long way, so hopefully the club can allow the signings to do the talking and the performances on the pitch can reinforce the dream/target.

    I've been saying for awhile basically what I was told when I appeared on NottsTV, Grant will be kept by Forest if they're relegated but he isn't rated by them allegedly (not at their current level). If they do keep him to see how things pan out, I still hope they'll loan him to us. We've proven we can help nurture the right players, so it would be a good thing. However, we do need quality like him in the summer and there's plenty of options for us. COYP

    Easter Monday 2017 turned out to be a positive day for both fans of Notts County and of Portsmouth at Meadow Lane. Although the Magpies fell to a 3-1 defeat, Newport County were thrashed by Plymouth Argyle, confirming for good that Notts would be a League Two side next season. Meanwhile, Pompey ended eight years of hurt with a win that sealed promotion into League and going some way towards exorcising the demons of the last few years. Pride of Nottingham spoke to several fans ahead of kickoff at the Lane and asked a number of questions including whether or not Haydn Hollis should remain at Notts and if the club can do a Pompey next season by putting financial woes behind them and going into the third tier.     You'd never tell that they had the same busy schedule as us, they all looked eager and ready to perform. They had one of the most complete squads I've seen this season, which makes me surprised that we beat them the first time around. Certainly they seem to be in their element now and that made it hard for us! It's brilliant to see, so congratulations on your promotion back to League One. Hopefully Notts can make the use of the balcony of the Pavis Stand, it was inspired by Wembley as our former chairman hoped international games would be selected at Meadow Lane. So, it's good to see it being used and in style. Thanks for coming in good spirit and uniting football! Really this is what the beautiful game is all about.

    I thought Portsmouth fans came in great spirit yesterday, so its good to see a club who's had it's own share of turmoil come good at Meadow Lane and clinch promotion back to League One. I've been overwhelmed with supportive messages, which is a little surreal but just goes to show the unity between football fans. Congratulations to all Portsmouth fans on the clubs promotion, it was well deserved.

    It was strange from a Notts point of view. Our players started off very slowly and the pace never really picked up, I feel the same about the stands - we never really got behind the game. Don't get me wrong the atmosphere was okay and Pompey really impressed me. It was just like we didn't know what to do, so we never seemed likely to raise up to the occasion. I'm afraid all this talk of spoiling their party seems even more pointless now. Notts did alright, defensively we should have been better but Portsmouth didn't allow us to play - it's as simple as that. I can't complain about any of the performances mind, though I do realise that we will be better off without certain players.

    I felt we was off the pace today, the stands was strangely silent and I don't think we raise to these games like we should. I always felt like Pompey would play in a way which would prevent us, so I don't think we played badly - we just struggled to get out of first gear at times. Our goal could have changed things but really, the match was entertaining. Credit to Pompey for bringing so many to Meadow Lane, I wish them well.

    I'm really looking forward to the game, so regardless of what happens the atmosphere will be impressive. However, I just have this feeling like we are setting the game up to be more important than it should be and knowing Notts - this usually means it won't go to plan. I hope I am wrong, yet I do feel this is very likely. I just don't want to see Portsmouth thrash us, not because I want to spoil their party but because of how we are approaching the game. It would be great to see us evenly match them or even out play Portsmouth but I don't think it's likely. A good performance will do me fine, if we can grab the win - it'll be impressive. Yet we don't need to see how far we have come by beating a promotion contender, we have already seen the 'difference' - so I would hope we focus on the game alone.

    When Haydn Hollis is focused and in the zone he's a very capable player in this division - the problem is when he doesn't keep to his game. He needs to do the simple things in which he excels at and there's no defender at the club currently who can do that last ditch tackle which Hollis does without second thought. I also feel sorry for him because at times there are players who deserve the harsh comments in which only he seems to always attract. Contract wise I think he could prove he's deserving of one, but we do need reinforcement in this department. Good write up @TheFostarr94.

    We've seen already just how far we have come but I hope Portsmouth can highlight just how much further this squad can go. I have a feeling we may be tempting fate a little but if we focus, work hard and just go for it - I can't complain. COYP!

    Please let the 'new signing' Mark Yeates start rather than Adam Campbell in that position, AC could focus on being more direct elsewhere and it would be best all round. Fingers crossed Notts can make it 22 wins tonight but I still feel a draw is right. COYP!

    It's going to be one hell of a game v Portsmouth, though I wouldn't tempt fate by mentioning records. Right now its just fantastic and hopefully it will continue for the remaining games. So, fingers crossed we can break our home record attendance.

    I didn't think things would be so different this early, the fan base is back to before all the trouble and the players actually seem to form a good spine for a squad that could chase promotion in the future. It's surreal but in a great way.

    Hopefully not for long @DangerousSausage! I'm eagerly awaiting news of any potential new deal, as I am sure many other Notts will be. About time we had this sort of vibe going on at Meadow Lane. Nolan and Hardy make it look easy, really how things have changed is amazing and goes down to genuine hard work.

    Slowly the ladies team are losing the quality that can make a missive difference, I hope the recruiting is spot on so that they can bring in good replacements. Jess Clarke is one of those players that have carried the club.

    I'm not sure I see the 'mistake' that Colin Slater mentioned, so I think I was a little unfair because the goal seemed to be a good one for Carlisle. That said, it's like watching the 1920's clips with the official highlights.

    It sounded like a good performance by all, so far I haven't heard any negatives - bar Collin who many have suggested it wasn't his best game for us. Yet on the bases of one mistake known, you can't really pass judgement. I'm just pleased to see us pinch the win against a very decent League Two team.
