  1. Just nine months into the job, how the mighty Germans have fallen. TBH, they're a nation that tends to have bad years because they rely too much on those who have experience without giving many younger players a fresh chance to establish themselves. They go in cycles where they have great upcoming players, but they do nothing with them. I think they should find a stronger manager, that will balance things out for them again.
  2. He's still got quality, but it reminds me of when we brought in older players to the experience of younger upcoming players. I don't think it's a bad signing, if I were a Wrexham supporter I would be like 'meh' about the signing. I don't think it's fair to be critical of him before he's played several games. I personally would have thought Wrexham would have tried to bring in some of the players from the National League that did well against them, along with the experience they've added.
  3. I was on holiday at Skegness, we had tried several pubs, but most outright refused to put the game on. I'll leave this for @super_ram to clarify this area, but it did seem daft that TVs which had the capacity of showing something else would get refused. Especially in quiet areas where nobody else is, but that's some pubs for you. My mum really wanted to see the game and I were rushing around pushing her wheelchair between @cheeky~k8 and my dad. We ended up going to Churchill's, where they agreed to put the game on for us. The bar staff were joking at times about turning it off, which is banter my mum would never refuse to tell them off for saying. It was funny. I know, one of them was actually a Forest fan who at times I recall the other staff member telling him off for watching the game! Quite a few others who were Notts fans joined us. The ceremony did take forever, but it was amazing. I imagine being their live it would have been a lot more impressive.
  4. @Joshua: I do wish we had a few more tries but managed to hit the target, whilst he may save ones straight to him. Higher up, or into the corners of the goal, he would have struggled a lot more. He's not a keeper I would hope to see between our sticks, yes he can save close up shots and is fairly okay in the air. Distance is a weakness, I know some don't think Sam Slocombe is good with corners, but those are areas you should expect better from your defenders.
  5. Unfortunately, no. I mean for clarity, I wasn't one of these fans who complained he had covered Mansfield and held that against him when he first started. It's just very rarely do I think I could stand listening to him for more than a few minutes. I stopped listening to coverage because of him. I did like his banter and interactions with Mark Stallard but if anything, it was Stall winning over in that department. Everyone has a character they dislike like this, usually it's me.
  6. I think this is a good example why I struggle to take Charlie Slater seriously: it's funny and different. The interview itself is decent, but Charlie just comes across rather annoyingly. His questions, whilst I get they were aimed to not be answered and added to the quirkiness just becomes a stretching chalkboard to my ears. It's good that he has the confidence to do this sort of thing, but his swagger is another reason why I have always struggled to like him. This part is perhaps the harshest, but I am so glad he's moved on from doing our coverage.
  7. Great goal by the Skipper, I don't mean Lewis. I mean KYLE CAMERON!!! 1-1 MK Dons are doing everything in their power to slow the game down, including violent conduct where for no reason - I believe it was Aden Baldwin who was grabbed. Just their way of trying to regroup but from what I saw and in the reply, he should have been sent off (or at least a yellow). It looked like he hit out.
  8. I'm watching the game here at mine with @super_ram, our stream is buffering every 5 seconds. I hope it's not the same for everyone else, although I have tried everything to make the connection stable - Ethernet is connected, really should be fine. Now I see flashing numbers in various locations, as if someone is testing something. It's a bit jarring but Notts seems to be doing okay. MK Dons' attacking prowess is truly impressive as well. Just lacking in the final third. 0-0, so far.
  9. @super_ram: One of the greatest, I think I would put him above Pele, but I would put Messi and Ronaldo above him too. The latter player has done interviews in the past where he's spoken highly of Eusébio as being one of the players that inspired him with his own journey. Having seen old world cup recap shows with my dad, I know Eusébio was a classy player.
  10. I think they probably mutually agreed on it, with Neal Bishop most likely saying that he wanted to step down. The tweet is probably written by an elderly person who thinks the cap lock makes it more readable. It does seem as if there's more to it, but I doubt that is the case. Bishop is very level-headed when it comes to football and I can't see him leaving without respect for the club. @DangerousSausage I doubt he's been tapped up, though you are quite likely right that he's decided to pursue something else. Also, I have never heard of the photographer. He seems like some random guy.
  11. @DangerousSausage: please remember to update this very important announcement on Sunday, provided the things go well.
  12. He was very good at West Brom, I remember his time there quite well. It's saddening to see he died only 55, that is horrible. Rest in Peace, Ian Hamilton.
  13. Betfred had to sneak the dig in at Wrexham. I don't think there's any need for it this season, as whilst they are not doing great - it's a pointless rib. Yes, we both came up last season, but it's irrelevant now when comparing us to them. I do like the stat though, it's nice to know.
  14. Sky tend to be 100% neutral; they're far better than BT Sports. I don't have Sky, so there's no chance of recording it, but I do wonder if @william1984, will record it. It's good to be able to go back and watch what the pundits do say, along with recalling moments of the game where you could do with seeing a second view of it.
  15. Exeter City 0-0 Leyton Orient Stevenage 0-2 Carlisle United Accrington Stanley 1-3 Mansfield Town Colchester United 0-2 Tranmere Rovers Joker Forest Green Rovers 1-1 Crewe Alexandra AFC Fylde 0-1 Aldershot Bromley 0-0 Maidenhead United Woking 0-1 Solihull Moors
  16. Always with the same smile, I am pleased he's back in management. I heard that he was taking time off to deal with something personal, but then you think everyone has bills to pay. Neal Ardley is a good manager; he made Sollihull Moors a much better team. I think he will make York City hard to beat. Best wishes to him.
  17. This won't change much for me, I am mindful of what I eat, but I won't suddenly start worrying that a bit of ice cream is going to cause me issues. We've been having milk for decades now, something which we shouldn't have been encouraged to drink or have with our cereal. People once said it was good for you, now it's known to be something we should be reducing. In 20–30 years, everything we eat will be bad for us that isn't natural, but I doubt we will go back to eating the basic things our bodies were designed to eat solely. Besides, we only live once and people should just be mindful of what they put into their bodies.
  18. @liampie I haven't seen it as I am upstairs in my room, but it should be made available online even if it's slightly edited. I will have a look later when I get a chance to look into it.
  19. I may take advantage of some of the games, probably not MK Dons or Salford as I will be at the latter game. This will still sell well, but Notts could have published this information sooner and really brought a hype around it. If they think fans will opt to stay at home instead of going to the game, hence why it's only recently been announced - it seems unlikely. Surely they know our fans would prefer to be at the game live? There's no substitute for it.
  20. It's got to be Adam Chicksen, as playing Will Randall would go against what Luke Williams says and has been known to do. I mean, it's a tough game, so why play someone who might not be up to speed yet? We know what to expect from Chicksen. Whilst I am delighted to know Randall is finally recovered, I think it's unrealistic to expect him to come in to a big game like this - after being out for so long with a nagging injury.
  21. I believe one of the youngsters we had was from our youth team, least that was what I were informed at the Nuneaton game. This might have been the other lad, but he didn't impress me with his warming up. The other small lad, seemed far more capable and looked like a good keeper.
  22. Supposedly this is footage of how footballers used to train. It reminds me of a group of children who are scared to get their clothes dirty in PE, just in case their mothers are mad about the mess they made.
  23. MK Dons will be a tough team to play against, as they are much better at home. I don't think they will leave as much space open as they did against Crewe. The thing is, MK Don's started off brightly, but I think they massively started to underestimate Crewe who pushed them back. MK Dons for the most part of that game did leave much to explore, but that's away from home. Having seen all of their highlights so far this season, plus watching some extra footage of extended games, I can safely say that they should be much more positive within their play. They have a tendency to play long balls from the back, whilst they are feeling the team out and attack with more speed when the game opens up. If they can control the game, we'll see less of them lumping the ball forward and more of them trying to pass with a real turn of pace. When defending, MK Dons will adopt a compact and organized strategy. This creates an opportunity for us to exploit the gaps in their defence through clever passes or powerful shots from outside the penalty area. Teams like Doncaster had their better chances from distance, with Craig MacGillivray not looking particularly good from these types of strikes. I hope we can play in such a calm way, that we use our ability to play in narrow space and pace to and around, making MK Dons have to pay attention. This would make the pressure more intense for them and less likely something they would cope well with. If we just run at them and put crosses into their penalty box, 90% I believe will be collected by either their keeper or by a defender who will just clear it.
  24. I think it's a bit of a weird decision. I do agree, Peterborough seems to be wanting to hold onto him without completely writing him off as a bad transfer. I thought he would have done okay with them, but allowing him to join Fleetwood who are struggling just seems odd to me. It could be somewhere he can contribute, but considering how unwelcome he has been at Peterborough. He's gone into another somewhat hostile environment. They've sacked their manager, aren't doing that well in the league and loan players do tend to take the brunt of criticism. If he doesn't do well, I can see his morale completely being shot. Whereas he could hit the ground running, help them lift up the table - which just seems unlikely to me. I think they'll continue to be average even with this signing being good on paper.
  25. Well, it will give him the chance to refine his managerial skills as a coach and when the time is right - he might be able to move back into management. I do hope he can settle with Wolves and manage to remain there for a few seasons. It would allow him to get his coaching career back on track if he could. Things may be out of his hands here which prompted the move. It might be that Wolves wanted him or, he applied for the position. I don't know, I'm not really bothered to look into this further. Ian Burchnall is a complete waste of time as far as I am concerned. The feeling I have about him, isn't one I wished to have, and I don't think much of hum. As I have said before, he used a small minority of fans to complain about Notts fans as a whole, with the sole intention of using it to explain why he was running off to Forest Green Rovers. Rather than leaving acknowledging the support he was given and the disloyalty he showed towards something he spent the most part of the season declaring as a long term project.
