  1. It’s intriguing to see the names of some players being discussed. I’m hopeful that we can secure a substitute for Matty Palmer, who is sorely missed, as well as another centre back. My preference would be for a centre back who combines speed with the experience to read the game effectively.
  2. Dan Crowley is often mentioned because of his significant involvement. Without him, we still have a strong squad, but the contributions are more team-based. Sam Austin can be excellent, but not always. Jodi Jones performs well in most games, but some teams make it difficult by assigning 2 to 3 players to mark him. Teams seem to struggle to mark Crowley, but just because he’s frequently mentioned doesn’t mean the other players aren’t performing well. They also contribute to Crowley’s consistency.
  3. Typically, Walsall tends to perform well or better than us. They often have skilled players, which makes the game both frustrating and entertaining. Since we’ve been in the National League, I haven’t followed them closely and don’t recognise any players. However, their league position won’t matter until after our match. Hopefully, Dan Crowley and Jodi Jones will be ready for their visit. Let’s see how it goes!
  4. I don’t mind who owns Meadow Lane, as long as it’s our home ground. I trust the club to make the best decision. The current lease gives us some security.
  5. Hello, @Callumpie. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. We are delighted to have you here.
  6. It's unsettling to see Notts' current defensive challenges. However, Cameron's admission of the scenario and ambition to bounce back imbues hope. More power to him and his leadership! As fans, we look forward to seeing the defenders put up a spirited performance against Walsall. We know they've got it in them to strike a solid defence.
  7. Crawley should have stuck to their strategy that allowed them to control most of the first half. Instead, they let Notts start to show their quality. Our midfield, even though it was a bit makeshift, did incredibly well. I thought the second half was excellent. We won’t always dominate teams for the full 90 minutes and sometimes we’ll find it tough, but that’s why our possession and passing are so crucial.
  8. Nothing makes me prouder than the brilliance exhibited on the pitch yesterday. Not only did the lads put on an excellent attacking display, but they also held firm when we were under pressure. The likes of Daniel Crowley and Junior Morias shone particularly bright with their spot-on passes and impressive finishes. I can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds for us.
  9. It's uplifting to see Bostock highlight the unity within the Notts County team. His emphasis on learning and improvement, even after a great first half, is indicative of a team with a lot of ambition. This article gives a great insight into Bostock's journey and the incredible spirit of Notts.
  10. This article has put into a very clear perspective what Notts County's journey has been like so far. Facing top-tier teams to prepare for a transformed adversary, the story is in the making. The open admission of ambition and preparedness from Williams indicates the fighting spirit of our beloved team. Bring it on, Bradford City!
  11. Dan Gosling’s eagerness to join Notts is just what the team needs to retain its momentum. His praise for the manager and his excitement over the club's newest signings shows his dedication to thrive at Notts County. What stands out, though, is Gosling's willingness to challenge himself, even as he had the opportunity to stay in Watford. To see a player of his calibre enthusiastic about playing in League 2 is very encouraging. Glad to have him on board.
  12. This is what makes a team great, the ability to stand strong under pressure, resilience to turn tides in your favour, and unity under adversities. Notts has shown all three. Despite being pushed back on multiple occasions, they've held their nerve to head into the next round. Aden Baldwin's comment, "Anyone will do. We don't fear anyone, anyone will do," truly embodies the spirit of Notts County's performance.
  13. Hello, @Morten Johansen! It's great to have you here on PON.
  14. The journey of Notts in the Football League brings forth many cherished memories and a profound sense of pride. Each significant game along the way marks a riveting chapter in our club's timeline. Now, as we approach our 5000th game against Gillingham, the anticipation and excitement are at a fever pitch. It's another historic moment to etch in our club's legacy. Onwards and upwards, Notts County!
  15. This piece certainly stirs up quite a few emotions. The journey of Notts County, right from the top division to its 888th fourth division match, is beautifully woven in the fabric of English football history. Each landmark game brings back vivid memories of different chapters and challenges the club faced. It gives all of us fans and followers a renewed sense of pride. Going into our upcoming match against Gillingham, we carry forward the legacy of legends who have marked numerous landmark games. So, as we head towards another milestone, let's rally behind Notts and make this 5000th Football League match another unforgettable instance of our glorious history.
  16. Securing a win in the forthcoming match would not only keep Gillingham and Swindon on their toes, but it would also stand as a testament to our team’s grit and tenacity. It would send a clear message to our competitors that we’re not merely taking part, but we’re in it to win it. Maintaining our winning streak is about more than just racking up points; it’s about building momentum and cultivating a winning mindset within the squad. Each triumph bolsters our determination and reaffirms our faith in our capabilities. This self-belief can be the game-changer in nail-biting matches and tough scenarios. A victory would also give a much-needed lift to everyone involved with the team. From the players and coaching staff to the fans, everyone reaps the benefits of the positive vibes that a win generates. This positivity can see us through gruelling training sessions, aid us in bouncing back from setbacks, and keep us focused on our objectives. As we approach the weekend, a win would also afford us the chance to rest and rejuvenate with a sense of achievement. It enables us to look back on our performance with contentment, pinpoint areas for improvement in a constructive way, and anticipate our next match with even excitement. A win is more than just three points on the board; it’s a catalyst for positive transformation, a source of motivation, and an emblem of our team’s potential. So let’s get out there, give it everything we’ve got, and keep this winning streak going!
  17. Excellent strategy by Williams. Nurturing young talent will not only shape the future of Notts County but also contribute significantly to local and national football.
  18. Blimey! What a match! Couldn’t believe my eyes as I watched Cameron's goal go in! It honestly felt like the ball moved in super slow motioned. Notts are darn lucky to have him. He’s not just skilled but his humility is what an ideal sportsman should possess. Respect!
  19. Notts County's pushing for dominance against MK Dons' fighting spirit. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.
  20. I suspect we will see the first glimpse of Junior Morias. I have hope that he will prove to be a valuable part of the squad. He hasn’t had much chance until now, so if Luke Williams decides to make changes which include him, it will be interesting to see how he does. Everything else is sort of to be expected. I do feel sorry for Sam Slocombe that he hasn’t had much of a chance. Aidan Stone is progressing nicely and is showing positive signs, but I still appreciate Slocombe. Accrington might be in good form, but I see little reason to fear them. I am more concerned that we won’t play as smoothly or calmly as we have seen at the back.
  21. The group has grown and started showing their potential, much to the credit of Luke Williams and his team. It’s all positive stuff, which is very rare for Williams. His approach to interviews is quite laid back. You can tell at times when he doesn’t want to answer questions or hoped they wouldn’t come up, but he does answer them. He’s a knowledgeable manager, who is showing that even with his lack of experience, he’s striving to be a success with us.
  22. It's great to see the optimism for Notts County's performance at home. I agree that seizing opportunities will be crucial, especially against a strong squad like Tranmere Rovers. The defensive aspect is a concern, and maintaining possession at the back sounds like a solid strategy. Hopefully, the home advantage will play a role in boosting Notts' performance. The size of the crowd might indeed impact the atmosphere. Let's hope for a well-fought match and a positive outcome for Notts. I can't make a score prediction for this game, it's difficult to call.
  23. Integrating into a different style of football and in a new role is not a small task, yet Brindley has managed to do both with remarkable ease. His spirit and adaptability are admirable and crucial for Notts County’s progression. This just goes to show that when player commitment meets constructive coaching, success is more achievable.
  24. Glad that Williams is taking a pragmatic approach, recognising the good moves yet addressing the pitfalls. We need to up our concentration game and cut back on unnecessary fouls. The potential is there, just some refining needed. Keep the faith, folks!
  25. In full support of @TheSkipper's insights. Learning from this match and working on key issues such as creating and converting clear goal-scoring opportunities should be our prime focus moving forward. Every bit of progress matters!
