  1. All Notts can do is stay focused, work hard, and keep their heads down. No matter the result, we are a stronger team now and have settled into the season. Some fans might not be keen on Matt Palmer as captain because he's more reserved, but I believe he's just as good as anyone else. From what he says, I think this is exactly why he's our captain, bhe's a true professional who always gives his best.
  2. I donโ€™t have anything specific in mind, but my parents might. My father, whoโ€™s in his 80s, is a bit of a hoarder. Because of his age, he hasnโ€™t watched Notts since 2015. Iโ€™d be amazed to see whatโ€™s up there.
  3. Notts donโ€™t need to worry. The club will be promoted when itโ€™s the right time, and itโ€™s more important to be patient. I might be in the minority, but the results will only come if weโ€™re good enough. Iโ€™m happy to watch how the season unfolds. Getting into the playoffs would be great, and promotion through the automatic spots would be a dream. But thereโ€™s still a lot of football left to play.
  4. Welcome to PON, @StanfordPie. I look forward to reading your comments.
  5. Hello, @Callumpie. Welcome! The Pride of Nottingham is well worth your time. Join in when you can.
  6. I have reservations about the situation, as it may not be straightforward for some supporters to travel. The area is experiencing significant flooding, which could potentially result in the cancellation of the game. Nevertheless, I remain hopeful that the match will proceed as planned and that the pitch will be in a suitable condition for play. I believe we should anticipate a strong reaction from the players. Gillingham, our opponents, pose a formidable challenge, but if we can maintain a solid defensive performance, we should have the opportunity to capitalise on our chances and achieve a positive outcome.
  7. It's great to be welcoming an international magpie, so welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Morten Johansen.
  8. MK Dons are currently dealing with injuries to some of their strikers, and it is unclear if they will be fully recovered in time for the upcoming game on Saturday. It is still unknown if their absence is due to international commitments or if it's purely due to injuries. Despite this setback, MK Dons are still considered to be a talented team. The majority of their players are established and experienced in the League One, meaning that they possess a significant level of quality. Considering the circumstances, it would be reasonable to accept a draw in the upcoming game. However, Luke Williams and the team will undoubtedly be aiming for all three points. Securing a victory at Stadium MK would require a stroke of genius and sheer determination. With the quality that MK Dons possess, it's not going to be an easy task for Notts.
  9. If Notts can muster a good performance and claim a win, it should push us a bit higher up. The form and potential clean sheet sound appealing, I hope Aidan Stone can. Tranmere Rovers might not have played their best previously, but they clearly have goals in them. Teams can turn their poor form around at any time, just because Notts have done well in their past few games doesnโ€™t mean it will be the same here. Yet I hope that they can keep Tranmere quiet. That would be my game plan, work to pick the ball back up and keep them out of the game. If the creative players can get the ball into areas for chances, goals should come. My score prediction would be 3-1 to Notts, Langstaff, Scott and Jones.
  10. I'm genuinely excited for this match. Our good form against Tranmere's struggles, should make for intriguing football!
  11. The coaching staff clearly trusts Brindley, and I'm backing them. This could be the revamp we needed. Let's get behind him! Come on you pies!
  12. There will be a lot of happy fans traveling to Sutton tomorrow. Does anyone know if we have sold out our allocation? I hope those lucky enough to make it give good support to the boys, and in return, they deliver a solid performance. I think Notts should manage a comfortable 2-0 win.
  13. The Skipper has to have confidence that promotion is viable; I think the optimism is something that will increase tenfold. I think there's a lot of chance that Notts can push on and do well in League Two. I certainly feel more inclined to agree with Kyle Cameron than I would anyone who suggested we are mid-table candidates.
  14. to see such commitment and drive to perform well in the upcoming season. The training focus and enthusiasm in the squad make me believe that we'll be quite the force in League Two!
  15. I Agree with Luke Williams, it's about applying pressure and causing problems for the opposition. We've shown that we can force teams into a deep block; now we need to work on finding more solutions to that puzzle. Regardless, I have high hopes for our first season back in the league.
  16. Hello, welcome to PON. It's good to have you on board @BeestonPie.
  17. Boston United have made some good signings, including a few former Notts players. This may motivate them to raise their game and show Notts what theyโ€™re missing or that theyโ€™re good players. Jimmy Knowles will pose more of a threat than any of the away friendlies so far, with his pace and direct approach requiring us to be alert and focused. It should prove to be a better game.
  18. Young people often feel the need to change in order to be noticed or accepted, but this is not necessary. If some people seem uninterested, keep looking for those who are without changing yourself.
  19. I commend the club for raising the questions and hope that this continues throughout the season, particularly if a more severe injury occurs. While I wouldn't expect updates after every game, a monthly update would be reassuring if a longer recovery time is needed. What I value most is the informative nature of the updates. In the past, we were left to speculate, and I believe it's essential for fans to have at least a rough idea. This is far more important than minor injuries sustained during pre-season. It could prevent a lot of speculation, for example, regarding Junior Morias' absence from the squad following his cameo appearance.
  20. I like that Luke Williams managed to go on holiday by himself, but is now back and focused on this season. Although he has one promotion under his belt, he's not thinking of that success but rather building on it. He's a very impressive manager for his age and is showing wisdom far beyond his coaching years.
  21. I am disappointed that the Salford fixture has changed. I can't make that game now, but I think a fair portion of this will be. I can't attend many weekday games, so those are the occasional treat. I'm all about the weekend. Very good read, @Simon Clark.
  22. Ian Richardson - "Richo" is and always will be a hero to this club. His playing days are legendary as it is, very loyal and determined. He's someone the club should look to get back, having ex players involved gives the club it's identity. They couldn't go wrong choosing to hire him.
  23. Luke Williams will have his plans and will know who he wants to see more of before the final friendly and the start of the season against Sutton. I am hoping to hear good things about the defender we have on trial.
  24. Based on his performance, he appeared to be a promising player. However, one appearance is not enough to make a conclusive judgment. It would be advisable for Luke Williams to give him more playing time to see if he can consistently demonstrate the potential he showed against Forest. If he continues to perform well, he should be signed.
  25. Hopefully, Southend will come good in time. Itโ€™s not nice to see a club struggle. They need to freshen things up and find a new owner; they deserve that at the very least.
