  1. I think Aidan Stone has handled himself very professionally and has been respectful of the club’s wishes. However, I am saddened by how he’s been pushed out of the team completely without being given any chance to gain redemption from last season. Alex Bass is obviously a classy keeper, but Sam Slocombe won’t be around forever. Stone could have improved with this current defence and how it is shaping up. I just don’t think it worked for him, but as I say, he’s tried and worked hard despite being cast aside.

  2. Brilliant memories of a very good Notts team that defended well to keep the win intact. I would have been there, somewhere in the main stand then. Coming back is what that team was all about. Eric McManus was a good keeper! I don’t think he could see the first goal until it was too late. It wasn’t a lack of concentration like Hugh Johns claimed.

  3. Playing away at Morecambe is always a challenge, but it’s encouraging to witness Maynard’s trust in the team. Our performance against Gillingham was commendable, even if the scoreline didn’t reflect our efforts. That’s the nature of football, isn’t it? The important thing is to maintain those high standards. Morecambe’s pressing style is something we need to be wary of, but I firmly believe our squad is up to the challenge. It’s unfortunate about Jatta, but player welfare must always come first.

It’s truly inspiring to see young talents like Kameron Muir getting their opportunities. Tomorrow’s match is crucial for us to regain our footing and keep our momentum in the league. Our fans deserve nothing less than an outstanding performance!

  4. It’s good to read the news of Jodi Jones extending his stay at Notts County. He’s a very talented footballer who can make a difference in games. We’ve struck gold again by agreeing terms. This will be his third deal with the club, the first being the loan signing. Retaining players of his quality has been long overdue. I’m happy to see this, it’s further signs of improvements around the club.

  5. Six games in, Notts are looking strong. I’m mindful that we started strongly last season, but I think the squad’s depth will help keep players match-sharp and fit, so nobody ends up being overplayed. I’m sure Stuart Maynard will have pondered what his starting lineup should be. A good week in training and the attitude to start well on the day, fingers crossed Notts will get off to a flying start.

  6. Keeping Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley is imperative if we want to progress.

They are both head and shoulders above anything in this league. A couple of decisions went our way for a change, but even so, it was a well-deserved win. Credit to the 1,400 Mariners who travelled and helped make a good atmosphere. The game was a credit to League Two.

  7. I agree, a striker is all that is needed right now. It would be a waste of money to bring in another wing-back as we have cover there. As for attacking midfield, I don’t see the need. A striker could make a difference when teams try to isolate our only striker and have him under control.

  8. I thought we just needed a bit of luck at times. Jodi Jones was almost marked out of the game, and only his creativity created headaches for Tranmere. A few more shots on target and I am sure the outcome wouldn’t have been a goalless draw. I am very happy with how the squad performed as a whole.

  9. I don’t like the orange shirt. It looks basic. I think the smarter choice would be to have the third kit as the away one. That looks more in keeping with the home kit and doesn’t clash. I wouldn’t pay for either. I prefer polo shirts, but I do like this year’s home shirt.
