Didzy Watch
He’ll keep scoring while he can still run and perform well enough. But once his legs go, and they will, he’ll realise that age catches up with all of us. You can’t rely on willpower alone to keep going. He’s a good player, and I’m glad he’s doing well at Barnsley. I did wish he was still here, but he’s not, so that’s the end of that discussion. The only thing I want to say is, if David McGoldrick is taking shots at Notts with comments about the game being simple, or saying things about stats and being too focused on data, it doesn’t look great. Even if I agree with him that football is simple at heart, it’s not a good look to say those things publicly. He seems to have aged quickly at Barnsley too. Does anyone else think that? His face makes him look a few years older than he actually is.

When the chips are down
I still peel my own potatoes for chips and mash. I don’t like that instant stuff, it just doesn’t taste the same. Oven chips aren’t as bad as some people say. If you’re not sure, try ones that can be microwaved and compare. Even fries from the microwave leave me feeling disappointed. It’s a shame how many people have swapped effort for convenience. I’d rather do things properly, enjoy the better taste, and get a bit of exercise while I’m at it.

Who's to blame?
Some people outside this site are acting like we’re already 15 games into the season. I do understand the disappointment and concern, but it’s still very early days. There are a few who seem to enjoy being negative, and it shows in how they talk about things. It’s good to see some sensible suggestions being shared, though. I don’t mind reading thoughts like the ones in this thread because they’re fair and make sense. I do worry that with a new head coach, changes in staff, lots of new players, many of them on loan, and not much time for the squad to settle, it’s going to take extra effort to get things right. There’s no excuse, though. We need a win, and that has to come in the home games. Martin Paterson will be an easy target for criticism, but I think the delay in recruitment and appointing him hasn’t helped at all. The club needs to work harder to fix this and show the fans who like stirring things up that progress can be made through teamwork.

Who's is your Man of the Match against Barrow?
There are no wrong answers, just different views based on personal perspective. I thought Nick Tsaroulla made the biggest impact and did more with his time on the pitch than several others managed across the whole game. Barrow was one of the few away games I’ve been able to see, and I was disappointed by how flat Notts looked. There wasn’t much energy or spark in the performance. Tsaroulla stood out as the highlight. It really shows why we need two strong, effective players in the wide positions.

West Allotment Celtic
I’ve never heard of the village either. It’s a bit odd seeing a place called West Allotment, especially when an allotment is usually where you go to do a bit of gardening, not play football. I’d get it more if the team was called West Park Celtic FC. That would make a bit more sense.

Jodi Jones on the Spot as Notts Held at Newport County
We came undone from one slip at a set piece, and that’s what gets me. We were the better side and didn’t deserve to be trailing, but I’ll say this, the lads responded well after their goal. The changes made a difference, settled things down nicely. Young Paterson seems to be picking things up fast, he’s starting to see what this lot can do. A point to begin with isn’t bad at all, but we’ve got to make sure Meadow Lane works in our favour next week.

New shirt
I like the shirt, but I’m someone who prefers the classic home colours. Even so, the green does look sharp on the players, and I reckon it’ll go down well with fans. The club’s done a good job bringing out something with a bit more flair. It’s nice to see them try something a little different rather than just sticking with plain designs.

Didzy joins Barnsley
All the best to David McGoldrick at Barnsley. He’s got the ability to make a difference there. That said, chasing glory doesn’t always lead to the ideal ending. I do hope it works out for him, though.
