  1. You can’t size up a player just by his appearances or what his Wikipedia page says, all the early signs are looking good. Let’s give the lad a chance to find his feet with the squad around him. His experience might just turn out to be a boon in our push for promotion.
  2. I'm chuffed to bits about us getting Curtis Edwards on board. The lad's got a solid history in the Swedish and Norwegian leagues, with more than 150 top-tier games under his belt. That's no small feat, it tells you he's got the chops and he's steady as a rock. He's had a taste of the big time in the Europa League too, even had a go against Arsenal. Shows he can hold his own with the best of them. It's a real feather in our cap, attracting players with that kind of experience. I reckon his technical know-how and his ability to mix it up will give our midfield a proper boost. Hats off to the folks upstairs for pulling off this signing. I'm all agog to see Curtis do his thing for Notts County.
  3. Happy Birthday. Wishing you many happy returns @Fan of Big Tone.
  4. In my view, he never seemed to be a robust contender for the first team. There were a handful of outstanding performances, but many where he appeared to be merely average at best. His injury was a letdown, especially as he seemed poised to fill the gap. I’m delighted that he’s made a recovery. Regardless, I wish him all the best and good fortune.
  5. Things are bound to improve for Notts sooner or later. I always have more faith in home results compared to away games. I believe Meadow Lane will be buzzing and the supporters will hopefully rally behind the team to make it a thoroughly upbeat evening.
  6. Yes, I’m quite chuffed for the lad. I had high hopes for Sam Osborne to be the home-grown player who would establish himself as a key first team player, but unfortunately, we let him go. Now, my hope is that we give James Sanderson every chance to thrive.
  7. There’s something about him that I simply don’t find appealing. I recall watching him play for Walsall, where he was elbowing players everywhere. I was surprised that he progressed in his career because he seemed like a loose cannon. When he signed for Watford, I thought he had improved his attitude. It was encouraging to see him change. However, when you join a League Two team and get the opportunity to manage them, criticising the players in the way he did shows a level of immaturity. It’s naïve of him to think otherwise.
  8. He might have fallen into the trap of needing money to maintain the lifestyle he’s accustomed to. I don’t believe one would suddenly start stealing or attempting robberies like this. He might be involved with a bad group, but it’s good that the situation has been handled and the artefact has been recovered. Once in the hands of greedy individuals, it’s easy for such items to disappear, even if the culprits are apprehended.
  9. Lewis Macari has really settled into the squad, hasn't he? His comments about the intensity of Notts County's playing style are spot on. It's fast-paced and high pressure, but that's what makes it so exciting!
  10. Harrogate being fit-for-purpose is just one piece of the puzzle. Williams's efforts to instil unpredictability in Notts’s gameplay may just balance the scales. I’m waiting in anticipation to see how both these factors reconcile on the field!
  11. With Wrexham showing improvement, it would be encouraging to see us maintain a position close to theirs. This league may not offer many surprises, but any team can triumph on a good day. Just because Walsall is currently struggling doesn’t guarantee us a win. My hope is that we can net a few goals, boost our confidence, and carry that momentum into the upcoming matches.
  12. While I may not be as active as I once was, it doesn’t mean I value PON any less. I genuinely enjoy the site and the engagement it offers. It’s unfortunate when some lose their way, but this platform is meant for meaningful conversations and thoughtful posts that go beyond brief three to five-word replies.
  13. Addressing the team's defensive struggles is undoubtedly critical to their long term success. What stands out most to me is the holistic approach he's embracing here - the use of video analysis, specific drills mimicking match scenarios, and the constant reinforcement required to instil that defensive mindset. It shows a depth of understanding and a commitment to turning things around that is very encouraging.
  14. The performance was subpar, to say the least. We crafted some fantastic goals, but they were sadly overshadowed by our abysmal defending. It simply wasn't up to scratch, and I'm at a loss as to why we faltered so badly.
  15. Well done, everyone! I've cast my vote. Best of luck to all!
  16. Terry Venables, Rest in Peace. A naturally funny and good-natured person, who greatly enhanced football during his involvement.
  17. It's devastating when your own head coach admits we played like we were 'terrified to be on the pitch.' It’s a clear indicator of the work that needs to be done within the team. The second half certainly showed some spirit, but the damage had already been done. Williams' critique might seem harsh, but it's completely necessary for the boys to realise the urgency and step up their game.
  18. What a breath of fresh air Dan Crowley is! It's so refreshing to hear a player speak with such passion and enthusiasm about playing for Notts County. He's absolutely right, there's something special about playing for this club and it's clear he's loving every minute of it. Long may his success continue and let's hope he helps us climb the league table!
  19. I do hope our lads can pull it off today, but I must say I have me doubts. We haven't had much luck on the road recently, and Wimbledon are a tough nut to crack. Still, we've got some talented players and if we can get our act together, anything is possible. It's about time we started winning away from home, don't you think? Come on You Pies!
  20. Having moved from the KOP to the Pavis Stand a few seasons ago, I can see that there’s room for improvement in the latter. However, it’s reassuring to know that the club is cognisant of the areas that need attention. With the additional revenue, it’s crucial that we make smart investments off the pitch to facilitate progress on it. After all, a club’s success isn’t just about what happens during the 90 minutes, it’s also about the decisions made behind the scenes.
  21. As the team approach the half-time whistle against AFC Wimbledon, it would be good to secure a two-goal lead. They’re a formidable side, but our squad is robust and capable. We just need to tap into our potential and maintain consistency, particularly when playing away. To all the fans attending the match, I encourage you to share your post-match thoughts. Your insights are valuable, and rest assured, they will be read and appreciated.
  22. The fan forum has indeed played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the club and its supporters. It’s a platform that fosters transparency and understanding, especially during challenging times. However, it’s equally important to maintain this dialogue during periods of success. After all, the bond between a club and its fans isn’t just for the tough times, it’s for the good times too. Since Alan Hardy’s departure, we’ve been fortunate to experience more highs than lows, but let’s not forget the value of communication in maintaining this positive momentum.
  23. Jodi Jones at Wembley! The lad from London, now shining in Notts County and facing England. Goes to show dreams do come true. Immensely proud of him.
  24. Jodi Jones' thoughts on the match against North Macedonia throws adequate light on the humility he carries into the game. The respect he has for all competitors speaks of his sportsmanship. Moreover, the support he finds in the staff and his praise for the fans underline his respect for teamwork.
  25. Notts are demonstrating excellent form at home, and remaining undefeated is certainly an achievement worth striving for. I’d even venture to say that the winning streak is something we can take pride in. Despite Forest Green’s current performance, they have the potential to turn things around at any moment. My hope is to see Notts continue to enhance their defence, as the results should follow - assuming we create solid opportunities on the offensive end.
