  1. I believe it’s a record that won’t be broken in my lifetime. I hope Les Bradd keeps his record because he deserves it. He’s a legend and a fantastic player. It might be beaten one day, but not for many years.
  2. Happy Birthday, @CliftonMagpie! Enjoy your youth and make the most of every moment. Have a fantastic day!
  3. It’s good to read the news of Jodi Jones extending his stay at Notts County. He’s a very talented footballer who can make a difference in games. We’ve struck gold again by agreeing terms. This will be his third deal with the club, the first being the loan signing. Retaining players of his quality has been long overdue. I’m happy to see this, it’s further signs of improvements around the club.
  4. Six games in, Notts are looking strong. I’m mindful that we started strongly last season, but I think the squad’s depth will help keep players match-sharp and fit, so nobody ends up being overplayed. I’m sure Stuart Maynard will have pondered what his starting lineup should be. A good week in training and the attitude to start well on the day, fingers crossed Notts will get off to a flying start.
  5. Throw the book at them. We know that some of the changes they have broken. It’s time they settled it, instead of trying to get away with it. I hope the Premier League also learns to be stricter in the future. Some clubs wouldn’t be treated like this; in fact, most wouldn’t.
  6. He has settled in rather well. He looks like a player who has been with the club for more than just a single pre-season. I think defensively, Notts are making big strides forward, and I am hoping to see more clean sheets at Meadow Lane.
  7. Pleased to see Jim and his boy back. He got a good reception, and it was a nice surprise. I didn’t know anything about it. I don’t know if Notts had announced it before.
  8. Myles Weston, the ex-Notts winger, now plays for Bromley. I believe he signed for them back in 2023.
  9. Eriksson’s time at Notts County was brief but incredibly impactful. His arrival brought renewed hope and excitement to the club, attracting global attention. Despite financial troubles and the collapse of promises from the consortium, Eriksson's leadership saw Notts promoted to League One. His selfless decision to waive his payoff to facilitate a takeover was an act of genuine care and respect for the club. Under his stewardship, the Magpies experienced a period of transformation and ambition. Eriksson's legacy at Meadow Lane is one of inspiration, hope, and enduring spirit, making his impact on the club a cherished memory for fans.
  10. Keeping Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley is imperative if we want to progress. They are both head and shoulders above anything in this league. A couple of decisions went our way for a change, but even so, it was a well-deserved win. Credit to the 1,400 Mariners who travelled and helped make a good atmosphere. The game was a credit to League Two.
  11. It should be a fairly decent gate again tonight. If Grimsby fans come in good spirit, the attendance should be higher than 10,000. With the home advantage and need for a win, I hope Notts manages to pull it off.
  12. Jeff Astle was a brilliant player. I was saddened when he left Notts, but I always knew he would win the hearts of another club. His heading and skill with his feet made him a joy to watch. It’s very sad what he experienced later in life.
  13. I agree, a striker is all that is needed right now. It would be a waste of money to bring in another wing-back as we have cover there. As for attacking midfield, I don’t see the need. A striker could make a difference when teams try to isolate our only striker and have him under control.
  14. I thought we just needed a bit of luck at times. Jodi Jones was almost marked out of the game, and only his creativity created headaches for Tranmere. A few more shots on target and I am sure the outcome wouldn’t have been a goalless draw. I am very happy with how the squad performed as a whole.
  15. I don’t like the orange shirt. It looks basic. I think the smarter choice would be to have the third kit as the away one. That looks more in keeping with the home kit and doesn’t clash. I wouldn’t pay for either. I prefer polo shirts, but I do like this year’s home shirt.
  16. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Mark Holland. I am aware of a family in the Pavis who's last name is Holland, no Mark to my knowledge though.
  17. This is a good acquisition. I believed Tom Crawford performed well for Hartlepool. I was taken aback to see him on their list of players to be released.
  18. It’s more beneficial to make a profit now. I don’t want to seem unkind, but he probably would have been let go at some point. This move gives him an opportunity to thrive and gain valuable experience.
  19. Hello, @TimB. I am glad to welcome you to the Pride of Nottingham.
  20. Hello, @Up the Maggies. Its nice to have you here on PON.
  21. Welcome to PON, @Jake. I am glad to see you joining in.
  22. Hello, a warm hearted welcome to you @i961pie.
  23. It’s truly commendable to see teams like Georgia progressing so far. It’s difficult not to admire the nations that are often seen as smaller. Switzerland’s victory over Italy, despite being an average team, is indeed a positive outcome.
  24. The new home shirt appears quite pleasing. I appreciate the effort put into it and believe it’s one of the most attractive ones.
  25. Hello, @BiggestPieInGlasgow. I can't imagine we have a lot of Notts fans up in Glasgow, but that said, welcome to PON.
