  1. Eriksson’s time at Notts County was brief but incredibly impactful. His arrival brought renewed hope and excitement to the club, attracting global attention. Despite financial troubles and the collapse of promises from the consortium, Eriksson's leadership saw Notts promoted to League One. His selfless decision to waive his payoff to facilitate a takeover was an act of genuine care and respect for the club. Under his stewardship, the Magpies experienced a period of transformation and ambition. Eriksson's legacy at Meadow Lane is one of inspiration, hope, and enduring spirit, making his impact on the club a cherished memory for fans.
  2. Keeping Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley is imperative if we want to progress. They are both head and shoulders above anything in this league. A couple of decisions went our way for a change, but even so, it was a well-deserved win. Credit to the 1,400 Mariners who travelled and helped make a good atmosphere. The game was a credit to League Two.
  3. It should be a fairly decent gate again tonight. If Grimsby fans come in good spirit, the attendance should be higher than 10,000. With the home advantage and need for a win, I hope Notts manages to pull it off.
  4. Jeff Astle was a brilliant player. I was saddened when he left Notts, but I always knew he would win the hearts of another club. His heading and skill with his feet made him a joy to watch. It’s very sad what he experienced later in life.
  5. I agree, a striker is all that is needed right now. It would be a waste of money to bring in another wing-back as we have cover there. As for attacking midfield, I don’t see the need. A striker could make a difference when teams try to isolate our only striker and have him under control.
  6. I thought we just needed a bit of luck at times. Jodi Jones was almost marked out of the game, and only his creativity created headaches for Tranmere. A few more shots on target and I am sure the outcome wouldn’t have been a goalless draw. I am very happy with how the squad performed as a whole.
  7. I don’t like the orange shirt. It looks basic. I think the smarter choice would be to have the third kit as the away one. That looks more in keeping with the home kit and doesn’t clash. I wouldn’t pay for either. I prefer polo shirts, but I do like this year’s home shirt.
  8. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Mark Holland. I am aware of a family in the Pavis who's last name is Holland, no Mark to my knowledge though.
  9. This is a good acquisition. I believed Tom Crawford performed well for Hartlepool. I was taken aback to see him on their list of players to be released.
  10. It’s more beneficial to make a profit now. I don’t want to seem unkind, but he probably would have been let go at some point. This move gives him an opportunity to thrive and gain valuable experience.
  11. Hello, @TimB. I am glad to welcome you to the Pride of Nottingham.
  12. Hello, @Up the Maggies. Its nice to have you here on PON.
  13. Welcome to PON, @Jake. I am glad to see you joining in.
  14. Hello, a warm hearted welcome to you @i961pie.
  15. It’s truly commendable to see teams like Georgia progressing so far. It’s difficult not to admire the nations that are often seen as smaller. Switzerland’s victory over Italy, despite being an average team, is indeed a positive outcome.
  16. The new home shirt appears quite pleasing. I appreciate the effort put into it and believe it’s one of the most attractive ones.
  17. Hello, @BiggestPieInGlasgow. I can't imagine we have a lot of Notts fans up in Glasgow, but that said, welcome to PON.
  18. You can’t size up a player just by his appearances or what his Wikipedia page says, all the early signs are looking good. Let’s give the lad a chance to find his feet with the squad around him. His experience might just turn out to be a boon in our push for promotion.
  19. I'm chuffed to bits about us getting Curtis Edwards on board. The lad's got a solid history in the Swedish and Norwegian leagues, with more than 150 top-tier games under his belt. That's no small feat, it tells you he's got the chops and he's steady as a rock. He's had a taste of the big time in the Europa League too, even had a go against Arsenal. Shows he can hold his own with the best of them. It's a real feather in our cap, attracting players with that kind of experience. I reckon his technical know-how and his ability to mix it up will give our midfield a proper boost. Hats off to the folks upstairs for pulling off this signing. I'm all agog to see Curtis do his thing for Notts County.
  20. Happy Birthday. Wishing you many happy returns @Fan of Big Tone.
  21. In my view, he never seemed to be a robust contender for the first team. There were a handful of outstanding performances, but many where he appeared to be merely average at best. His injury was a letdown, especially as he seemed poised to fill the gap. I’m delighted that he’s made a recovery. Regardless, I wish him all the best and good fortune.
  22. Things are bound to improve for Notts sooner or later. I always have more faith in home results compared to away games. I believe Meadow Lane will be buzzing and the supporters will hopefully rally behind the team to make it a thoroughly upbeat evening.
  23. Yes, I’m quite chuffed for the lad. I had high hopes for Sam Osborne to be the home-grown player who would establish himself as a key first team player, but unfortunately, we let him go. Now, my hope is that we give James Sanderson every chance to thrive.
  24. There’s something about him that I simply don’t find appealing. I recall watching him play for Walsall, where he was elbowing players everywhere. I was surprised that he progressed in his career because he seemed like a loose cannon. When he signed for Watford, I thought he had improved his attitude. It was encouraging to see him change. However, when you join a League Two team and get the opportunity to manage them, criticising the players in the way he did shows a level of immaturity. It’s naïve of him to think otherwise.
  25. He might have fallen into the trap of needing money to maintain the lifestyle he’s accustomed to. I don’t believe one would suddenly start stealing or attempting robberies like this. He might be involved with a bad group, but it’s good that the situation has been handled and the artefact has been recovered. Once in the hands of greedy individuals, it’s easy for such items to disappear, even if the culprits are apprehended.
