  1. Round 13 clue: This player was born in a town in Nottinghamshire and began his professional career with a local club. He later moved to another club in the same county for a significant fee and made a large number of appearances for them.
  2. When Cal Roberts was around Meadow Lane towards the end of last season, I assumed he was coming back to support his old teammates and friends. Maybe Aberdeen suggested that he find a new club? Scunthorpe United has built a decent team since being relegated from League Two.
  3. Points Table: @Fan of Big Tone - 4 @Fozzy - 4 @super_ram - 2 @KB1862 - 1 @liampie - 1 I will think of another player within the next few hours and, post round 13 then. I'll aim between 6 to 6:30pm.
  4. I have followed quite a few members. I didn't realise I had neglected this feature, but I have made sure that I have added all the members who are active and whom I am most likely to respond to.
  5. I think Jim O’Brien brings many benefits to the squad; he’s a great guy to help with morale and his fiery passion is enough to spark others’ lights when playing. Even though it’s one deal, it feels great to have him renew. He’s shared a great journey with us and it’s great that he persisted playing. Seeing him carry Aden Baldwin off the pitch was a great moment, but so were his expressions and joy.
  6. It feels like we lose far less now than we would normally do. It says a lot about our dressing room, club and morale in general. Although I wished Ruben had agreed to stay, I am pleased that we have Kyle Cameron on board along with Jodi Jones, Connell Rawlinson and Jim O’Brien. We just need Aaron Nemane to stay; roll on the Football League!
  7. During the years I have supported Notts, we have had quite a few international players: Andre Boucaud, Jonathan Forte… I had more in mind until I started writing, but I don’t remember any of them getting the chance to play against England. It’s a massive game for Jodi; one he should be very excited about and I don’t think he will go into the game all star-struck. I think he will want to prove a point; I hope he manages to impress.
  8. This is brilliant; it was interesting to learn about Tony’s backstory and his favourite moments. I wasn’t here for the Warnock era, but I know he’s a legend! Sign him up, Chris..
  9. Yes, I still can’t believe we aren’t dealing with clueless owners who think we are there to be taken for granted. It’s weird to have two owners who very rarely say anything; not a complaint. It’s refreshing because it stops the doom and gloom merchants from piping up.
  10. I think GP would prefer to keep you on the straight and narrow, rather than me. I have an innocent charm about me and I can imagine you being scolded right now. So, those sticks will definitely be yours, but not in the way you said. Behave yourself and you’ll be fine. Wait, did Granny say to dock a point? ????
  11. You got, quit complaining or I'll borrow some heavily sticks to whack you good and proper @super_ram.
  12. David McGoldrick is going to become a legend here at the club; he’s already proving himself to be a great guy. The club’s introduction of him walking with the background music, very FIFA or PES-esque, was really good. I think some players at his age may slow down, but their experience can’t be taught. He did well with Derby; I see no reason why he won’t be a success with us.
  13. I didn’t see your comment earlier, but the answer is Jim O’Brien. I used my words against you all for once. @super_ram wins this round.
  14. As Jim says, now with David McGoldrick, we have all the experience needed. Connell Rawlinson worked hard, as did Jim. I do agree that it was probably his best season despite some fans having opinions that I won’t repeat. I don’t think it was a fair reflection, but Jim tirelessly puts effort into the pitch and he’s right; we have the quality needed to go forward.
  15. You have all brought this on yourselves by being too good at guessing! Yes, this is more obvious than you would think. I have been very crafty with the choices of my words; it’s a nice feeling to see it’s misleading you all. Ha! No, it isn’t Jorge Grant. I’ll be nice and add that it’s not Callum McGregor either, which I am surprised hasn’t been mentioned already, but as you are aware it couldn't be because he didn't play for Shrewsbury Town. So, who did?
  16. I am being very sneaky here, but you are all incorrect. Good guesses though! Dave Kevan is a very smart out-of-the-box guess. Tony fell for my trap, but he could be onto something. Yes.
  17. A clue would be to look at our pre-season games; he’s played for one of those. He is known for being a leader, brave and full of emotion. It’s not Paddy McCourt.
  18. Round 12 clue: This person is a professional footballer who primarily featured in central midfielder when he signed for Notts. He has played for clubs across the United Kingdom. Points Table: @Fan of Big Tone - 4 @Fozzy - 4 @KB1862 - 1 @liampie - 1 @super_ram - 1
  19. Every successful team needs a player who can be a leader without the armband. He’s such a good guy and works hard to maintain his place. He offers much more than just experience, which I think was shown towards the end of the season. His composure and ability to help influence the game make him a key squad member. I love watching him do his turns; how other players don’t catch onto it, I don’t know. But at 35 years of age, he has shown he can still feature as and when we need him. I am pleased he’s agreed to this new deal.
  20. I will be back at 6pm for another round, with an updated table and to see if I can get a sneaky one past the majority of you. Please do keep guessing and asking questions. I may be tied up, but a good point is if you discuss potential people amongst yourselves. I will do my very best to reply when questions do come, it's just that some days work can be very busy. @Fan of Big Tone of, no you are perfectly within your rights to take a guess. There are no rules about waiting, I just wanted to address that first. Keep guessing everyone!
  21. Clips like this show all the best bits, but you might be able to put together a video showing the blips any player makes. I think you have to add your own judgement and understand what the player brings. I don’t think Malta has a player like Jodi Jones.
  22. Good luck to him against Oxford. I think the step up might end up disappointing Ruben. I hope for his sake he’s made the right decision to join them. I thought he might have left for Derby or gone back to the Dutch leagues.
  23. He sure knows how to have a good time and let his hair down. He drank some strong alcohol too. No wonder he was extremely drunk. Ha ha ha!!
  24. It’s a shame to see such a good player go, but Notts can find a replacement. I think we have found one in David McGoldrick, although he may not be a long-term solution. I am happy, yet still sad to see Ruben leave. I would like to thank him for his contributions, laughter and amazing skills which brought delight to us Notts fans. I wish him well at Oxford United.
  25. I am pleased with the current situation, and I am leaning towards the belief that everything will end successfully. Based on my observations, I believe that our latest member will play a similar role to Ruben Rodrigues, but he may also be able to play as a striker. We currently have four skilled strikers, and Macaulay Langstaff will be our primary point of focus. I would be delighted if some quick, skillful midfielders and defenders joined our team. Alternatively, if we intend to add more depth, we could have some of our young players fill the remaining positions. I am thrilled that David McGoldrick is joining us as we push to return to League One.
