  2. I want Notts to go into the game and prove themselves. I don’t think Accrington Stanley should be a team we fear, especially at home. A good performance and result will be another bonus, especially after the opening game. I am hoping that Macaulay Langstaff can find the net, but as long as someone else scores for us, it will be all good.
  3. Pace isn’t that important if he can read the game and has enough to make sure he doesn’t get turned inside out. Mike Edwards never had any, but he was still a very good defender. He was also a good header of the ball and would do very well in this Notts squad.
  4. It was a moment of pure excellence when Connell Rawlinson struck the ball into the back of the net. Notts had been putting pressure on Tranmere, but the second goal seemed to be eluding us. I also felt very happy for Connell. He’s a brilliant squad player, and if you take on board everything he says, you can see more of what he brings to Notts.
  5. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham.
  6. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Gary Adamson.
  7. I have consulted five reputable odds sites, none of which mentioned Luke Williams. Why should we be concerned about his departure? I don’t see the point in even suggesting it. It’s neither helpful nor necessary, as it would only be worth mentioning if Williams had been strongly linked. It seems like it’s being said for no real reason. Interestingly enough, Shaun Derry and Sol Campbell are mentioned with odds. I’m confident there will be some updates that include Williams because he’s doing an outstanding job here. However, you can’t expect a manager to abandon everything he’s achieved with a successful team to join a side that has dismissed their manager for underperforming. I can envision them appointing someone like Darren Moore.
  8. Our very own Jodi Jones! I wonder if those Notts fans will be travelling again to show their support?
  9. Despite Leicester City’s defeat, this must have been an exhilarating match. Does anyone have any memorable anecdotes from the game? I would be intrigued to hear them. @Piethagoram, would you consider contributing something about it? It’s challenging for fans like me to elaborate further, but I am curious about the experiences of Notts fans on that day, their expectations, and so on.
  10. My payday is approaching, so I will certainly be making a donation. I have been considering purchasing a print or something similar, particularly one of Kyle Cameron, but instead of doing that, I will express my support through a donation and purchase the print(s) I desire at a later date. Who wouldn’t want to contribute Β£10 towards something that delivers such high-quality content for free?
  11. Whatever the team has been practising in training, it evidently paid off as the squad had the best start to a game so far this season. I concur entirely with @TheSkipper’s analysis. It was a highly entertaining match, although the referee did overlook some crucial moments. This was true for both teams, but he seemed a bit more lenient with Tranmere. I believe they should have received a yellow card for the early challenge, which was quite shocking. The player also clearly voiced his disagreement, but regardless, Notts won. Aaron Namane’s footwork is faster than most players. He is truly effective when crossing.
  12. Fantastic collection of fan photos, boss! There are so many splendid images of the supporters thoroughly enjoying their match day. Keep up the sterling work.
  13. Connell Rawlinson truly found himself in an optimal position to score, and when he did, the KOP erupted in a thunderous cheer of joy. I believe he performed quite well. Despite some people suggesting that he’s not a footballer who passes, he executed some impressive passes yesterday. The majority of his actions were indeed positive. He dons his shirt with pride, and I am thrilled to see him experience such a moment. These moments don’t come around often, so I am genuinely pleased for Connell.
  14. Luke Williams is truly exceptional. While some are criticising his decision to make five changes, it’s important to remember that it was due to an unforeseen accident. This is similar to last season when we found ourselves without a goalkeeper due to limited substitution spaces. Mark Stallard’s perspective is worth considering; he suggests a rethink rather than mere complaints. It’s a discussion worth having. However, if Williams believes that we are not at risk of games turning against us due to potential late injuries without a substitution option, then that’s his decision. The team put on an excellent display and I sincerely hope that Cedwyn Scott is alright. His effort is evident and it would be wonderful to see him rewarded on the pitch for his positive attitude.
  15. I’m indulging in a bit of laziness before the work week kicks off again. Given the rain outside, I have no desire to venture out and get soaked. Instead, I’ll spend my time watching TV, playing on my PlayStation, and browsing the internet.
  16. As for what transpired, it’s unclear. He fell and seemed to be in considerable pain. Could he have twisted his knee? We’ll have to wait for the diagnosis, but we do have alternatives available, so there’s no need for immediate concern.
  17. The painting is appealing, although it’s somewhat challenging to distinguish the players on the pitch, and the details within them aren’t as prominent as those of the spectators. However, I understand that this might be intentional so as not to detract from the stands or the pitch.
  18. While it may seem nonsensical, there could be larger factors at play that we’re not aware of. Eastleigh, in my opinion, are performing beyond expectations. I struggle to see them as anything more than a side hoping for a playoff spot. However, this decision does appear to be ill-advised. It’s worth noting that we don’t know if there has been some misconduct or if the Eastleigh chairman has simply lost his patience.
  19. Mike Dean has always been somewhat of a contentious figure, a grumpy, block-headed individual aspiring to look like Jasper Carrott. He’s attempting to downplay the situation, claiming his comments have been misconstrued. This is difficult to believe when you consider that he was quoted directly. No one suggested that his actions were due to a close friendship; he himself used the term β€˜friend’. In this video, he seems to be trying to accept responsibility without actually admitting fault. He insists that he was penalised at the time by being made to miss games following the incident. However, he comes across as someone unwilling to fully admit his mistakes or accept that he was truly in the wrong. He points out that no one questioned his decision, leading him to believe he had made the correct call (despite admitting he knew it was wrong). He mentions that a team is in place to assist and yet none of them raised any concerns (despite him being in charge of VAR decisions). He dismisses the technology as being β€˜almost Mickey Mouse back then’. Most people would have made the correct call; he simply appears to be an individual who needs to step out of the limelight. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12947952/mike-dean-i-tried-to-protect-referee-as-var-i-was-wrong-i-made-a-bad-mistake
  20. Brindley 8 - from start to finish, he was the finest defender on the pitch, exuding calmness and demonstrating excellent ball control. His unnoticed yet significant contributions included making impressive runs into open spaces. His performance was commendable. Nemane 7.5 - I felt compelled to add an extra half point because his skills and efforts deserved recognition. He outclassed the Tranmere players with ease, and even though it didn’t always work out, isn’t that what we want from a player on the flank - the ability to take on his opponent? Palmer 8 - It’s hard to understand how anyone could fail to acknowledge his exceptional performance. His passing was on par with Bostock at times. He effortlessly retrieved the ball, winning it back in crucial areas before running off and passing it to another player, usually Jodi Jones. For me, the three main contenders for Man of the Match were Palmer, Bostock, and Brindley. While I disagree with these ratings and have slightly adjusted mine accordingly, I believe @Elite_pie has generally hit the nail on the head.
  21. As for player movements, I don’t anticipate much activity from us. I know Luke has mentioned that some players might want to go out on loan, so I think Luther might move to another team. Apart from that, I don’t foresee any senior players requesting loans, perhaps in January, but I would be surprised if we signed any additional players.
  22. My prediction for today’s game is 2-0, with goals from Langstaff and Austin. I’m looking forward to the match. The weather seems uncertain at the moment; I haven’t seen any rain myself but I’m hoping for brighter conditions.
  23. I certainly believe that Tranmere Rovers have a squad capable of causing us problems, although it seems they have yet to reach their full potential. This always makes me somewhat cautious, but I feel more confident knowing we are playing at home. If we were playing away, our performance might be affected despite the incredible support from our travelling fans. However, at home, I always have the feeling that we can perform well enough to secure a victory.
  24. While a tall centre-back could be beneficial, we do have sufficient depth in our squad. I don’t foresee Luke Williams bringing in any new players. Ollie Tipton might see more action in defence, but he also has the capability to provide support in the roles of Jim O’Brien and John Bostock.
  25. I’m holding out hope for Southend to achieve a miracle; it would indeed be regrettable to witness them suffer a fate similar to Bury’s.
