  1. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @NewarkMagpie. I am pleased to meet you.
  2. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Nay123. I am pleased to meet you.
  3. I appreciate that the club and Luke Williams are addressing this issue head-on, as it instils confidence in their abilities. Some managers prefer to avoid discussing ongoing concerns to prevent panic or negative feedback, but I believe this only generates more concern. For example, with Junior Morias, when we don’t know what’s happening, it’s easy to forget about him and assume he’s been forgotten. However, it may just be a minor issue preventing him from starting pre-season. Addressing issues directly is wise, although the longer Morias struggles, the more I question his acquisition. Nonetheless, I have faith that he will eventually come good.
  4. I appreciate the way Kyle expresses his opinions. He is a leader on the pitch and has provided us with many great memories during his time here. I believe we will perform even better in League Two. With the recruitment and morale in the squad, we should undoubtedly be fighting for promotion once again.
  5. After learning that Charlie Slater is leaving, it’s clear that he has been a significant part of the community over the past few years. Watching videos of his commentary truly tugs at the heartstrings, much like seeing Colin Slater’s last ever commentary.
  6. The home friendlies have shown us how we need to prepare defensively. Those were very good exercises for that, and I think Telford played quite well, although we definitely looked a lot better. The squad is progressing well, and these games aren’t about winning. Although winning does breed confidence, it makes a massive difference to their fitness and the structure of the formation we play.
  7. Joss Labadie appeared to be a talented player, but his career was hindered by his own poor decisions. At the National League level, he has the potential to be one of the better midfielders, provided he focuses on football and works hard. At only 32 years of age, he still has a few good years left in him.
  8. Hello there, @BeestonPie. Welcome to PON, it's good to have you here.
  9. I’m not bothered, personally I could still make it. It might not be the case for some fans, and I sympathise with that, but from my perspective, it makes no difference. It’s even better because it frees up Saturday!
  10. Interesting choice of games out of all the 23 teams. I think some of the local games, such as Mansfield, Doncaster, and Walsall, are ones that I am personally looking forward to. Having gone to Wembley with @liampie, I am very keen to make sure we meet up or travel to those types of games. I am interested in Stockport County because I want to see how Kyle Wootton does.
  11. Yes, @ARLukomski mentioned him, and I agree. I think he looked good for the time he had on the pitch. He played a calming and careful game, which was positive.
  12. Well, I think that Charlie Slater has made a clear decision, and I have enjoyed his time. It took some getting used to, I admit, but his friendship and connection with Mark Stallard is special. What are the chances of the BBC hiring Dean Yates so we can have him do the commentary and Mark Stallard assist? Unlikely, I know. Who’s taking over?
  13. It’s positive that Dele Alli knows he has an issue and sought help himself. That is a sign of wanting to break the cycle he falls into. It’s also good to know he had the support of friends and family, along with Everton looking out for him. I hope he can start putting in the performances that first got him noticed. If I were him, I would forget about the negatives at Spurs and just try to capture a new positive start. It’s a brand new chapter in his career, and focusing solely on what makes him happy should have a knock-on effect on his football itself.
  14. Best Signing: Jodi Jones Highest Goal Scorer: Macaulay Langstaff Most Improved Player of the Season: Connell Rawlinson Most Starts in the Season: Matt Palmer Best partnership between two players: Matt Palmer and Dan Crowley
  15. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham community, @Kevin May.
  16. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Bryn Roberts. It's good to see you have joined us.
  17. It’s sad to see the duo of Charlie and Stall come to an end, but hopefully they can bring someone in who can connect with the fans on a similar level. I think we’ve been lucky to have Charlie, after the sad loss of Uncle Colin.
  18. Fair play to Steve Cooper for his approach in speaking with Luke Williams. It reminds me of the stories of Jimmy and Cloughie. While we can enjoy banter between our rivalry, it’s good to know that the club personnel can get along, as it opens the doors to signing potential good players from them. Also, the home shirt is really starting to make me want to buy it. It’s good to see what the gaffer thinks of the squad and pre-season.
  19. The switch to a 4-4-2 formation was a welcome change. The 5-3-1 gives us those extra bodies in midfield when we can dominate a team, but it’s less effective when we play a team that does what we do to lesser oppositions. I thought defensively Notts looked composed; we moved the ball around well and created space. There were groans that we did this a little more than some fans would like to see, but it prevents us from needlessly giving the ball away. It also works teams into opening space up, so we have to be patient at times in our build-up. When we went for it, Notts looked superb, and I would hope Forest fans can give us the respect we deserve for keeping their quality mostly quiet. I thought both teams showed a lot of respect for each other, and although Jim O’Brien had cause to lash out, as he was fouled and stomped on, it never boiled over, which it shouldn’t do in these types of games.
  20. It’s an interesting call, though I don’t think it’s likely that we would be looking at him. It wouldn’t surprise me if he features more in Stoke’s team in their upcoming season.
  21. I would like us to keep the squads the same as in the Forest friendly, with changes coming in the second half. It would be a good indication of how the players measure up against different levels of teams and give the squad a chance to settle as we approach the final pre-season friendly. This should help the youth players, who need some of the senior players to give them confidence.
  22. Barnsley needs to be sorted out. I can’t believe that Man City hasn’t had their punishment yet for lying about the money they spent. However, Barnsley does need to be punished in line with everyone else and made to submit their accounts earlier if they want to lift any potential sanctions. When they do this, you need to force them into complying. This forced stricter rules with who operates and owns a club, back when it happened with Munto I don't believe the rules stated you had to say who was involved. You just had to have someone in charge and declare who the owner was.
  23. On Friday, I spent most of the day working, and by the time I finished, I just got ready for sleep. Today, I went to see the friendly against Forest. I didn’t opt to stay at home and watch it via the stream. I enjoyed the match; I thought it was very lively and end-to-end. It was good to see a stronger squad start as this made it easier for the youngsters. Tomorrow, I have no plans, so I’ll update this when I decide. It’s likely that I might end up doing stuff at home if the weather predictions are true.
  24. I didn’t go down; it’s not my thing, and I’m sure I’ll get a chance to see the trophy at some stage. I don’t need to meet Macaulay Langstaff or Connell Rawlinson and have my photo taken with them. It’s great for fans who do! I’m not knocking this; it’s just not my thing. It would be nice to see more fan photos from the past weeks’ photo opportunities.
