  1. I was going to name something else, but listening to @liampie's choice, I had to put this: it’s like Christmas with Notts and I don’t want it to end! Complain that it’s only the 9th month of the year, but it’s here and hopefully will be until the end of the season.
  2. It’s a good signing, but it’s a weird situation with Fleetwood and their owner sacking Scott Brown. You would have thought this signing could make a strong impact, without the need to part ways with the manager.
  3. I don’t even remember him, but I agree, it can’t be as serious with him never actually getting a minute of action.
  4. I don’t know much about Blackpool’s issues or their chairman, but it reminds me of when our own fans wanted Ray Trew to spend silly money to get out of League One. Only for him to later say he won’t put any more investment into the club. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Blackpool and its fans need to meet in the middle.
  5. Fleetwood is an odd club, sacking a manager and bringing in a striker that could make all the difference. It’s a weird choice of actions, but they now need to make a sensible appointment and bring in someone who can keep them up as a League One team.
  6. As for Ian Burchnall at Wolves, I would assume it was due to his paperwork. He’s quite lucky that he’s been snapped up and hasn’t found himself out of employment for long.
  7. I think we just need to focus on playing positive, forward-passing football against MK Dons. There will be times when we do need to go back, but we should avoid going all the way back where possible. I think they would punish us if we got caught napping while passing the ball to Aiden Stone. They are one of those teams who thrive on teams that make slip-ups or mistakes, so I hope we make it as hard as possible. The likely outcome of a draw stands out to me. I think we will cancel each other out. A win would be nice, but I just don’t see it myself. Both us and them know what to do to keep the score to a minimum and both enjoy having possession of the ball.
  8. Aden Baldwin is another current player who played for them before joining us.
  9. Macaulay Langstaff never stops running, not only to get onto chases but also against defenders and the opposition keeper. He’s more than a warrior; he’s just relentless with his pressing. It’s similar to Cedwyn Scott, which is why I think they both work so well together. I am pleased for Langstaff to have the spotlight on him. He’s showing that there are goals for him in League Two, and against Accrington Stanley, I thought he looked fantastic on goal.
  10. Notts may have been slow, but the statistics could have been from the beginning of the season. I’m not sure. I don’t believe we are slow at the moment because things have settled down. I don’t pay attention to things like this, as comparing us in this manner seems strange.
  11. I am pleased we at least made a signing. I think it’s more of an addition to cover for the congested fixtures and potential backup. It would be good to see him come in when needed, and hopefully, he will do a good job. Otherwise, if he’s stuck on the bench, he might get recalled if that option is available.
  12. I agree again with @Elite_pie; it’s hard to rate the players when we are performing well, as the ability to score them differently becomes lower, and that’s why more people will be inclined to agree. I do think John Bostock played a vital role in midfield.
  13. I like seeing the ground busy; it’s nice to see the Pavis Stand full. I wish we could do it in the Family Stand. The club should look into former season ticket holders and see if there are any who simply can’t afford to attend, then offer them a selection of games to attend for free. The scheme where fans were helping others across the UK was a brilliant sight to see.
  14. Oh no, not at all. @Chris didn’t say you had said anything like that; I was simply explaining because it has been a while. There is no misunderstanding at all, @super_ram. I may even throw in a special round featuring a general footballer. If I do, I will make that known beforehand.
  15. Points Table: @Fan of Big Tone - 5 @Fozzy - 4 @super_ram - 2 @KB1862 - 1 @liampie - 1 I am sorry! I forgot all about this. Don’t worry, I will make sure to post two timely rounds per week. The Gaffer told me that @super_ram has asked about it. I didn’t give up on it; I just became busy with work and the start of the season. As I said, I will post two rounds per week. I encourage all members to try to take part. I will post a new round tomorrow, along with the second on Thursday if the first is guessed correctly, of course. The table is updated now.
  16. I hope Tyrell Waite does well; he is their version of our David McGoldrick. Waite has been pushed out wide quite a lot in his career, which is why he hasn’t scored that many goals. If Ilkeston Town plays him as a striker and allows him to settle, he should score plenty for them!
  17. I agree with @Chris; Josh Andrews looked like a lively threat, and he’s still young enough to improve. Birmingham will probably get rid of him at the end of this season or after the next campaign.
  18. The game was very entertaining. A neutral would be content with both teams’ performances, but I think Accrington Stanley fans would have hoped they could have tested Aidan Stone a lot more than they did. They are a good team and work well for each other, and Stone did make some superb saves. Yet, with two or three chances, they should have punished us. For example, when Stone kicked the ball straight to their player, who went clean through and ended up striking the ball towards Stone instead of one of the corners. I thought we were classy, dominant, and calm. The second half was a much better showing from us; we did very little wrong, and David McGoldrick worked well to bring in Macaulay Langstaff. Also, Dan Crowley placed pinpoint passes that went through Stanley’s defence with very narrow space for perfection, yet he made them look simple. Fantastic win! We are top of the league!! ????
  19. No way is Brennan Johnson worth that amount. It’s silly money. Forest always sell their better players and decline due to that. They throw twice as much into the transfer market themselves, hoping one of the signings will come good while having people on their books who don’t even start or take part in their match days.
  20. It’s a nice feeling to know we are top. It’s been hard work to get there from the players, and the opening day needs to be forgotten now. It’s true that positivity is the way forward. Handling any setbacks is very important because we clearly have a talented team. When the KOP noticed we had gone top, that first chant of being top of League Two - what a moment!!!
  21. Their fans on Twitter are constantly complaining about him when they play Derby County. I saw an Oxford United fan say he was a pointless substitute and offered nothing, just misplacing passes, but they need to give him time. He always seemed to struggle with his match fitness here, but his form saw him through that.
  22. I have also donated and am always happy to support PON. I hope we can hit 100% this month.
  23. I try to balance criticism with positives. I always try to see the brighter side of situations, and although that can be hard, I feel it’s something I do well. I can perhaps be a little critical, but I would never let it cost my enjoyment. We have had our ups and downs, mostly downs, and it’s nice to have a club that is trying to move forward in the right way. I do think we have some massive idiots on social media, people who take joy in picking at the players and moaning. They’re extremely critical, but I don’t focus any energy or time on them.
  24. This is brilliant to see, @Chris. I am also glad to see you taking the pictures. I noticed you going up the top half of the Kop. Thankfully, you didn’t see where I was sitting, but I do like going through the gallery. It’s great to see the faces of PON. Keep going, mate.
  25. A very good victory and performance against a decent Accrington Stanley team, you can tell they are a good side. They played well going forward, as their statistics show, and could have easily controlled the game after equalising. The warning signs were creeping in almost as soon as we scored. We played very well in the second half, more determined and better in control. Langstaff getting yet another brace is great to see, our team pulled off a good victory today.
