  1. Connell Rawlinson truly found himself in an optimal position to score, and when he did, the KOP erupted in a thunderous cheer of joy. I believe he performed quite well. Despite some people suggesting that he’s not a footballer who passes, he executed some impressive passes yesterday. The majority of his actions were indeed positive. He dons his shirt with pride, and I am thrilled to see him experience such a moment. These moments don’t come around often, so I am genuinely pleased for Connell.
  2. Luke Williams is truly exceptional. While some are criticising his decision to make five changes, it’s important to remember that it was due to an unforeseen accident. This is similar to last season when we found ourselves without a goalkeeper due to limited substitution spaces. Mark Stallard’s perspective is worth considering; he suggests a rethink rather than mere complaints. It’s a discussion worth having. However, if Williams believes that we are not at risk of games turning against us due to potential late injuries without a substitution option, then that’s his decision. The team put on an excellent display and I sincerely hope that Cedwyn Scott is alright. His effort is evident and it would be wonderful to see him rewarded on the pitch for his positive attitude.
  3. I’m indulging in a bit of laziness before the work week kicks off again. Given the rain outside, I have no desire to venture out and get soaked. Instead, I’ll spend my time watching TV, playing on my PlayStation, and browsing the internet.
  4. As for what transpired, it’s unclear. He fell and seemed to be in considerable pain. Could he have twisted his knee? We’ll have to wait for the diagnosis, but we do have alternatives available, so there’s no need for immediate concern.
  5. The painting is appealing, although it’s somewhat challenging to distinguish the players on the pitch, and the details within them aren’t as prominent as those of the spectators. However, I understand that this might be intentional so as not to detract from the stands or the pitch.
  6. While it may seem nonsensical, there could be larger factors at play that we’re not aware of. Eastleigh, in my opinion, are performing beyond expectations. I struggle to see them as anything more than a side hoping for a playoff spot. However, this decision does appear to be ill-advised. It’s worth noting that we don’t know if there has been some misconduct or if the Eastleigh chairman has simply lost his patience.
  7. Mike Dean has always been somewhat of a contentious figure, a grumpy, block-headed individual aspiring to look like Jasper Carrott. He’s attempting to downplay the situation, claiming his comments have been misconstrued. This is difficult to believe when you consider that he was quoted directly. No one suggested that his actions were due to a close friendship; he himself used the term ‘friend’. In this video, he seems to be trying to accept responsibility without actually admitting fault. He insists that he was penalised at the time by being made to miss games following the incident. However, he comes across as someone unwilling to fully admit his mistakes or accept that he was truly in the wrong. He points out that no one questioned his decision, leading him to believe he had made the correct call (despite admitting he knew it was wrong). He mentions that a team is in place to assist and yet none of them raised any concerns (despite him being in charge of VAR decisions). He dismisses the technology as being ‘almost Mickey Mouse back then’. Most people would have made the correct call; he simply appears to be an individual who needs to step out of the limelight. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12947952/mike-dean-i-tried-to-protect-referee-as-var-i-was-wrong-i-made-a-bad-mistake
  8. Brindley 8 - from start to finish, he was the finest defender on the pitch, exuding calmness and demonstrating excellent ball control. His unnoticed yet significant contributions included making impressive runs into open spaces. His performance was commendable. Nemane 7.5 - I felt compelled to add an extra half point because his skills and efforts deserved recognition. He outclassed the Tranmere players with ease, and even though it didn’t always work out, isn’t that what we want from a player on the flank - the ability to take on his opponent? Palmer 8 - It’s hard to understand how anyone could fail to acknowledge his exceptional performance. His passing was on par with Bostock at times. He effortlessly retrieved the ball, winning it back in crucial areas before running off and passing it to another player, usually Jodi Jones. For me, the three main contenders for Man of the Match were Palmer, Bostock, and Brindley. While I disagree with these ratings and have slightly adjusted mine accordingly, I believe @Elite_pie has generally hit the nail on the head.
  9. As for player movements, I don’t anticipate much activity from us. I know Luke has mentioned that some players might want to go out on loan, so I think Luther might move to another team. Apart from that, I don’t foresee any senior players requesting loans, perhaps in January, but I would be surprised if we signed any additional players.
  10. My prediction for today’s game is 2-0, with goals from Langstaff and Austin. I’m looking forward to the match. The weather seems uncertain at the moment; I haven’t seen any rain myself but I’m hoping for brighter conditions.
  11. I certainly believe that Tranmere Rovers have a squad capable of causing us problems, although it seems they have yet to reach their full potential. This always makes me somewhat cautious, but I feel more confident knowing we are playing at home. If we were playing away, our performance might be affected despite the incredible support from our travelling fans. However, at home, I always have the feeling that we can perform well enough to secure a victory.
  12. While a tall centre-back could be beneficial, we do have sufficient depth in our squad. I don’t foresee Luke Williams bringing in any new players. Ollie Tipton might see more action in defence, but he also has the capability to provide support in the roles of Jim O’Brien and John Bostock.
  13. I’m holding out hope for Southend to achieve a miracle; it would indeed be regrettable to witness them suffer a fate similar to Bury’s.
  14. Another goal has been added to Jodi Jones’ tally, a decision I don’t question. If the EFL deems it appropriate to credit Jodi, then that’s satisfactory for me.
  15. Coventry City 1-3 Sunderland Millwall 0-2 Stoke City Joker Exeter City 1-0 Reading Lincoln City 1-1 Blackpool Bradford City 2-0 Crewe Alexandra Walsall 1-2 Grimsby Town Boreham Wood 2-0 Oldham Athletic Ebbsfleet United 0-0 Kidderminster Harriers
  16. I agree, he excels in the centre, while his defensive skills could potentially be enhanced, his role in that position is to orchestrate the game and dismantle the opposition’s strategies. His endeavours are difficult to overlook, as he consistently performs with a sense of pride and it’s evident that he puts in a great deal of effort. Ultimately, that’s all we ask for from a player.
  17. We’re aware that Luke Williams sets a high bar in terms of performance and results. Currently, as Notts acclimatise to competing against a superior calibre of players, it appears that Luke is choosing to concentrate on the end result rather than obsessing over the performance in his interviews. He will address these points in his post-match reflections, but beforehand, it’s as if he’s attempting to alleviate any pressure on the players. The progress we’ve made in such a brief period is commendable, and we simply need to maintain this momentum.
  18. I’m eagerly anticipating our return to Meadow Lane. A sunny day like the one we experienced in Doncaster would certainly lift spirits. Apart from night games, there’s nothing quite like a dry, sunny match to foster optimism. I have high hopes for Notts; while Tranmere Rovers aren’t a weak team, they seem to have taken longer to find their footing. We definitely need to see an improvement in our defence compared to the Grimsby match. With two strong teams for our first home games, a win could provide a significant morale boost.
  19. @DangerousSausage The EFL’s potential decision to dock points seems harsh, as it primarily affects the fans, which seems rather unjust. If the owner is indifferent, then it’s clear that he needs to be replaced. I firmly believe that English football authorities should take a more active role in resolving these issues.
  20. Welcome to PON, @NorthPie.
  21. Welcome to the PON site @Sir Magpie.
  22. I perceive Sean McConville’s injury as a significant setback for Accrington Stanley, given his status as a key player. Being sidelined for three months in football is quite substantial, so I sincerely hope for his swift recovery. Sam Bellis appears to be a promising acquisition for Barrow, who could benefit from a trialist in the forward position. If Graham Coughlan were to voice concerns about delays and other issues, rather than criticising high-profile managers, his complaints might carry more weight. His current approach seems more resentful than reasonable. Ben Foster’s retirement elicited laughter from me; it seems to be a hasty decision on his part and a disappointment for Wrexham. Had Wrexham been performing better, I doubt he would have chosen to retire. His claim of playing for the love of the game seems more about personal victory than team spirit. It’s intriguing to see our local rivals recruiting young talent. I hope Alfie Bradshaw thrives and avoids the fate of many academy players who are exploited and then discarded.
  23. I didn't accomplish much on Friday. On Saturday, I visited Doncaster and had an enjoyable away day. The weather was pleasant, the team spirit was high, and Notts delivered an impressive performance. I even had the opportunity to witness the team coach arriving, which turned into a fun moment with @liampie and @TheSkipper. On Sunday, I journeyed to Chester to spend time with family members. Since then, I have been incredibly occupied.
  24. Anticipating with hope, Macaualy Langstaff is likely to enjoy the rendition of his chant at Meadow Lane this Saturday. Undoubtedly, it will leave a strong impression. I appreciate his remarks regarding Sam Austin; it's a touch of class that he acknowledges and praises us fans for our unwavering support. This recognition is not lost on the fans; both the players and the club are actively fostering this camaraderie, and I hope we can sustain it throughout the season.
  25. Luke Williams demonstrates eloquence in the manner he conveys his thoughts. He refrains from hasty reactions and articulates his ideas thoughtfully, rather than speaking out of frustration. Despite a simple mistake from Jim O'Brien, it's evident that he didn't do so intentionally or score an own goal. From Luke Williams, nothing less than providing the deserved support for O'Brien can be expected.
