Notts Countyβs Momentum: βOne-nil Up is Not Job Done,β Says Luke Williams
Weβve had a hectic period, facing various teams. Weβve performed well against some, but could have improved against others, like Walsall. I believe itβs crucial to regroup and maintain focus during matches, and hopefully, our training will yield results over time. I donβt think Walsall were particularly outstanding; their victory was more a reflection of our shortcomings. They reacted, while we let our spirits drop and didnβt sustain the same level of effort.

Guess Who? The Notts County Edition
@Fan of Big Tone Spot on! The player is indeed Peter Reid. Iβll keep you updated about the upcoming round. Thanks for your guesses and participation. Weβll be moving on to the next round shortly! Stay tuned for more updates on this.

Match Discussion: Game 22 - Sulphurites (A)
Weβre aware of what Harrogate brings to the table, but Iβm hopeful that we can leave all the disappointment in the past and concentrate on returning to consistent performances. Iβm not overly concerned if we win without flair, but I do believe that for the sake of consistency, itβs always better to play well. I think this makes it easier for form to come naturally. Luke Williams needs to work out how to compensate for the void left by Matt Palmerβs injury. Heβs one player weβre sorely missing, and itβs no surprise that his absence is keenly felt. Dan Gosling hasnβt made much of an impact so far, so perhaps itβs time to let him start a match and see how he fares from the get-go? Iβll be attending the match, so Iβm hoping for some form of entertainment.

Guess Who? The Notts County Edition
No, it isnβt George Best. The hint Iβd offer is that Iβve never seen this individual appear under the age of 40.

Where are they now? Graham Burke
Heβs back in the Irish league, demonstrating his mediocrity, unable to make the grade in the Championship or League One. He should have performed well, but he appears to be a bit of a nuisance.

Pontypridd..threat of 141 point deduction
When does deducting points lose its significance? Surely, if theyβre penalised by 141 points, their season is effectively finished. It seems futile to let them carry on if itβs going to have a harmful effect on the club in the long run.

Guess Who? The Notts County Edition
Following the 17th round, Tony has widened his lead to 2 points. Iβll inquire with the gaffer about posting a bonus round featuring a photo of a footballer (who may not be associated with Notts). Iβll then let you know when the 18th round is scheduled. Points Table: @Fan of Big Tone - 7 @Fozzy - 5 @super_ram - 2 @KB1862 - 1 @liampie,- 1 @Piethagoram- 1

Guess Who? The Notts County Edition
@Fan of Big Tone No, he hasn't. It's not Cal Roberts. A further clue is that the owner of the club at the time was his biggest fan.
-
Guess Who? The Notts County Edition
No, it's not Jodi Jones. Yes, that's correct. Also, Vadaine Oliver is incorrect too.
-
Guess Who? The Notts County Edition
Why would I, laugh? It's incorrect but it's a smart guess @super_ram.
-
Guess Who? The Notts County Edition
Neither are correct, sorry Tone!

Girona win at Barca
Itβs a splendid victory for Girona. Given the numerous problems Barcelona are facing, itβs no wonder that proficient teams are finding it more enjoyable to compete against them.

Guess Who? The Notts County Edition
Round 17: Clue: Born and bred in England, I am versatile on the pitch, capable of playing as a forward or an inverted winger. I am a product of my hometownβs academy and have had numerous appearances throughout my career. The pinnacle of my experience has been playing in League One. Upon my arrival at Notts County, I was hailed as a significant signing.

On this day in 1864
I canβt really provide a definitive comment on that. Iβm certain the club was functioning before 1864, as weβre recognised as being established in 1862. However, to my understanding, there wasnβt any official system in place until clubs began to register. Iβm not sure if professional clubs needed to be affiliated with a cricket or other sports team to be classified as professional. I presume there were discussions beforehand, and 1864 was when most groups started to unite to form teams. This likely paved the way for the league to start in 1888. I canβt imagine people forming a club and then not playing for years. It was probably amateur or even just a group of forward-thinking individuals interested in establishing our club.

Where are they now? Alan Sheehan
Best of luck to Alan Sheehan. I wasnβt aware of his activities since retirement, but Iβve always thought he would make a good coach, assistant, or manager someday. I hope he gets the opportunity to manage a team properly at some point.

Scouting Dossier : Notts v Walsall
From what I observed, I didnβt think they were any better than us defensively. We just didnβt pose enough of a threat. If we had played to our potential in the second half, Walsall wouldnβt have found it so easy. Their goalkeeper was also quite poor.

Tragedy in Granada
Itβs truly unfortunate that the fan passed away. I believe postponing the game was the right decision, as it would be difficult to play normally with such a tragic event on your mind.

They once played for Notts : Eric Probert
I saw an interview with Jimmy Sirrel where he mentioned that he joined Notts because he believed we had promising young players, not necessarily those who were older or experienced. Iβm not familiar with Eric Probert, but seeing where the players come from reminded me of what Jimmy had said.

Prediction league 23/24 round 21 - Saturday 9 December
Thereβs still a lot at stake, so well done to everyone whoβs at the top. Keep striving for the top spot, unless youβre @ARLukomski, in which case just hold your position. ????

Guess Who? The Notts County Edition
Iβll be posting a new round tomorrow, sometime between 2 and 4. Itβs more likely to be closer to 4, so make sure to check in at 2. If I havenβt posted within about half an hour, it will be closer to 4.

Iβve been capped by PoN
Congratulations on getting the cap, @Fan of Big Tone! Iβm a bit jealous, but it looks nice. Itβs also a pity itβs not a PON cap! However, thatβs a very nice Notts one. Give it a few weeks to break in. Good luck will follow soon.

Match Discussion: Game 21 - The Saddlers (H)
I believe the main problem is that no one could pass effectively. Yes, we could exchange a few passes, move around, and get into a good position, but Notts were hindered by a tendency to go backwards. Thatβs the issue, it shifts all the thinking onto our defence, and teams are realising all they have to do is mark and press. Then we start making poor decisions and end up losing possession. The defenders are already panicking or arenβt as focused as we need. Then they score, which I thought was very poor. Aidan Stone did very little wrong, his kicking wasnβt great at times, but I want to see more movement, more desire, and more forward-thinking when it comes to attacking. We could have easily beaten Walsall had we not underperformed. Notts were shocking in the second half, and saying we underperformed is a massive understatement as we simply didnβt perform at all.

Guess Who? The Notts County Edition
Apologies for the inconsistency. I intend to continue this, but Iβll be posting rounds as they conclude, rather than committing to two rounds per week. The next round will start promptly after the previous one ends. This was meant to be a bit of fun, but I admit I havenβt managed it as well as I could have. I hope @Fan of Big Tone, @super_ram, @Fozzy, @menzinho, @liampie, @Piethagoram, and others will participate. As promised, Iβll ensure to communicate when the next round will commence. Are you all still interested?

An escape from North Korea, an incredible read
North Korea appears to be a challenging place to escape from, so itβs heartening to hear that Mr Kim managed to overcome the odds. His story could make a compelling film.

On this day in 1864
Iβve noticed PON sharing this historical tidbit. I can see why the average fan might be confused, as they probably donβt research and just assume our formation date was 1862 when it was actually 1864. Even the plaque outside the Mercury Hotel is somewhat misleading.
