  1. York will be a good trip for fans. It’s a nice day out and the match should be more enjoyable. I’d like to see a stronger team playing for longer, but I think it will stay as two halves of 45 minutes each. I’m curious to know how the minor issues mentioned by Stuart Maynard are progressing. Ideally, the team will be nearing full readiness for selection. I’m aware that Matt Palmer still has some work ahead, but hopefully, he’ll be back for the Tranmere match.
  2. Volunteering at Nottingham Hospital is commendable, and something that Notts fans who are patients there will surely appreciate. It’s lovely that Ian has fond memories of his trips to cover the games, even if his time at Wembley for Notts was in an empty stadium. Wendy’s struggle with her brain tumour diagnosis is distressing. I empathise with the family and hope they continue to bravely confront this challenge together. It’s undoubtedly tough, but I’m certain that I’m not the only fan sending well wishes to the couple.
  3. Hello, @Mark Holland. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. Would you tell us a little something about yourself, such as how long you have supported Notts?
  4. I believe we missed an opportunity to give him some playing time last season before we signed Lewis Macari. Notts could have let him play a game or two. However, I can’t envision any young player getting much of a chance when the stakes are high or if the club is under pressure to perform well. We’re not one of those teams that gives a young player a fair shot. It’s easy to say they’re not up to the mark, but how do we, as fans, really know? No one would have anticipated this move.
  5. Macaulay Langstaff’s time with us has indeed been a bustling period. His knack for scoring goals became a familiar sight, and every time he had an opportunity, we felt certain he would seize it. We consider ourselves fortunate to have witnessed his tenure at Notts, as players of his calibre don’t come around every season. He leaves as a hero, and while his move may have been a surprise, we need not dwell on the decision. Instead, we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
  6. Don't get me wrong, I anticipated this would occur eventually and I believe it’s a positive step for Macaulay Langstaff. Although it’s unfortunate that he’s moving to a club like Millwall, I’m confident he will excel there. That being said, I don’t think Notts should have hurried to make him the captain. In retrospect, they should have been patient. This has resulted in a wave of negativity, which is a clear sign of poor management.
  7. This transfer was unexpected. It appears that Notts County is planning to invest more in the first team with the transfers of Lucien Mahovo and Tiernan Brooks. This is a great opportunity for the young player, one that neither he nor the club could turn down. I wish him all the best.
  8. There are specific areas in Australia where I wouldn’t fancy being stranded in a car, particularly some of the more secluded and dark locations. I’m aware that Highway 66 in America is well-known and has a reputation for being unsafe for solo or duo travellers due to the horror stories associated with it. However, in terms of places you might regret visiting, Australia just about takes the lead.
  9. I recall hearing that he had been substituted, but I didn’t realise the severity of the situation. A broken skull is enough to cause nightmares, and it’s incredibly brave to return to a sport that requires good heading skills, especially as a defender. I hope all his worries are now in the past.
  10. I’m hopeful that we’ll begin with a robust team, showcasing all the new recruits and fielding what we perceive to be our premier squad. It would be interesting to observe their performance as a unit in the initial 45 minutes, followed by strategic alterations in the second half. While I wouldn’t form any conclusions based on the friendly match, as it’s merely a practice run, I believe it would be beneficial to give the potential starting lineup some early playtime together, barring the inclusion of all the new signings. Rod McDonald and Curtis Edwards may not currently be viewed as starters by some, but it would be insightful to see how they fare in what could be our optimal lineup.
  11. Hello, @lucy80. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. I hope you enjoy being a member of PON.
  12. The home shirt seems nice to me, and I’m quite pleased with the design. The club has demonstrated some creativity with this concept, which might not be fully appreciated. However, when we eventually return to a more traditional look, it will feel fresh. I commend the club for trying something different once again.
  13. Should Connell Rawlinson peruse the messages sent his way, we hope he realises the depth of our gratitude as supporters. Any negative comments are overshadowed by the expressions of thanks for his contributions as a Notts player. He was a defender who consistently put in a strong effort. His dedication will be the lasting memory we hold of him.
  14. Connell Rawlinson has had a commendable stint with Notts, stepping up when we needed someone to fight for the team. He’s shown bravery, often putting himself at risk. It’s unfortunate to see him go, but the timing seems right. I hope he finds a new club that suits him well.
  15. I sincerely hope that Notts doesn’t impose high prices on our loyal supporters. It would be beneficial to keep things accessible and gradually ensure that Notts owns all the food stalls. However, these stalls should be operated by independent individuals. This approach could generate more revenue, rather than just taking a percentage of the earnings for the space occupied. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.
  16. Oh my, things are heating up now! Forget about Usyk vs Tyson. It’s Fan of Big Tone taking on Super Ram. Come on, Super! Don’t let this slide. ????
  17. Notts is in a strong position. They have the power to either accept or reject any bids. Until there’s an official announcement to the contrary, Macaulay Langstaff remains a valued member of our team!
  18. @Fan of Big Tone Hey, let’s not be too hard on Super! He’s an honorary Notts fan. Besides, when we’re feeling low, he can always lift our spirits with updates on how his beloved Derby is performing. ????????????
  19. Curtis Edwards seems to be a promising addition to the team. His thoughtful responses to the Notts County media team’s questions suggest that he is focused and determined. We need players who bring something unique to the table, and I am hopeful that he will work hard for us on the pitch.
  20. Matt Palmer operates on a different level when it comes to his play. He’s always alert and seems to stay one step ahead of the game. Players with such mindset are sorely missed when they’re sidelined due to injury. Despite the setback, I’m just relieved it wasn’t career-ending. I’m certain that once he’s back in action, Palmer will be eager to pick up where he left off and make up for those months when he couldn’t kick a ball.
  21. This signing appears to be full of promise and a sturdy replacement for the recently left Jim O’Brien. It’s a fantastic addition and exactly what we require. His wealth of experience will be appreciated by our younger players, like Scott Robertson. It’s a practical signing that will bring a unique element to crucial matches. I’m eager to see him in action.
  22. The club did a good interview. I'm impressed with Rod McDonald and how he came across. With a good pre-season to get our fitness levels up and help the new players settle in, we can make progress.
  23. I agree, it’s beneficial to bring in some seasoned players with the new signings and hopefully, Rod McDonald will vie for his spot in the starting eleven. To me, the move seems more like a reserve signing, but that’s not a negative thing and I’m confident he will dedicate himself fully to the club. I’m pleased to see the defence bolstered even more, it’s quite promising to witness.
  24. The work done under the Trew and Hardy eras pales in comparison to what we see now. True, the pitch was impressive back then. However, it has consistently looked superior under the Reedtz and the present ground staff. Their exceptional work is commendable and they truly deserve all the accolades.
