Stuart Maynard: ‘Smash and Grab’ Win Shows Notts County’s Promotion Credentials
Notts showed a different side to their game yesterday. It's important to be able to dig deep when results are important. Good teams can do that. Swindon Town played well. Defensively, we're looking much better under Stuart Maynard, and the new players have added much-needed defensive cover. When you can win while still performing well, but it might not be as entertaining, as David McGoldrick said, it's the win that matters.

David McGoldrick: ‘It Wasn’t My Greatest Performance, But Two Goals and a Win Are What Matters'
There are times when you wish David McGoldrick could do a bit more, but I don't question his effort. Considering his age and where he is in his career, we should take that into account. I hope he keeps going, as it's great to see him doing well. He performs better when he's not overplayed, but I think he did well yesterday, not just because of the goals. He looked eager and wanted to make an impact, and that's what we need.

Welcome To Notts George Abbott
This is a good signing, even as a loan. I hope we can make the most of him. I hope we see plenty of him. Some fans wanted defensive cover in midfield, and that wish has been granted with the signing of George Abbott. He played a bit today, but not enough to get a good sense of his abilities.

A Statement From The Notts County Board of Directors.
It's a good statement. I agree that some fans might complain, and I don't think that would change for Notts. You have to manage your expectations. Not long ago, it seemed like we wouldn't sign anyone. We made two deadline day deals, one of which was an ideal loan signing. We can't complain about the defence, which has been improved during the preseason and transfer window.

Welcome to Notts, Jevani Brown.
I don't want to discuss his past in relation to his signing. I don't think it's appropriate to do so, as it could distract from the purpose of the signing. I'm glad we have cover, and I hope he provides good depth for Notts. This is one of those signings that we can only hope works out well. We won't know until we give him a chance, so let's welcome him and hope he focuses on his football.

Yeovil merchandise misspelling
Ha! Yeovil Town won't be able to live this down for a while. I wonder if they'll hear any chants about it. It would be devastating.

Match Discussion: Game 4 - The Robins (A)
It was a solid victory. Swindon Town could have made it difficult to score, let alone twice. If they had played defensively after scoring, the game could have been frustrating. However, it was encouraging to see Notts respond by trying to equalise. The winning goal came at the perfect time! Our fans were excellent at times, but I think we could be a bit louder.

Lewis Macari 'I'm Loving It Here at Notts County'
Lewis Macari always had something special about him, but I think he's improved a lot since he first arrived, and this season he's showing signs of settling into the role. That's what we need defensively: players who will make the position their own and fight to stay in the team. He wasn't afraid to go in against a physical Tranmere side on the opening day, and although I missed that at the time, having watched the full game since, I think he's been one of our best defenders so far this season. He looks perfect alongside Matty Platt and Jacob Bedeau. Those three have a good understanding of each other, and I hope with more game time, we'll see even more improvements from Macari.

Tottenham Hotspur’s U21 Captain George Abbott Joins Notts County on Loan
George Abbott looks like a very good signing for Notts. I like that we have our attacking options but are also signing more defensive-minded players. Winning the ball back and quickly passing it into areas where we can attack the opposition should help us create more chances. Since it's a season-long loan, we don't have to rush him until he's ready. I'm sure he'll make a solid impact on this Notts team. We're looking stronger than ever now.

George Abbott Excited for New Chapter at Notts County: "It's a Good Opportunity" Says Tottenham Hotspur's Young Midfielder
He seems like a great guy. It made me laugh when he mentioned looking into our gates. Players must be tempted to do that, but more importantly, it shows they understand how they fit in and helps the manager see how to get the most out of them. I think it's a very promising loan. Welcome to Meadow Lane, George Abbott.

Stuart Maynard discusses transfers, squad depth, and Notts County's upcoming clash with Swindon Town in League Two
It's reassuring to know that the bids have been turned down. Keeping hold of Dan Crowley and Jodi Jones is very important. Every player has their price, but I remain hopeful that new contracts will be signed. Winning against Swindon Town and maintaining our strong start will boost our confidence. Aiming for promotion shows we are heading in the right direction, and it's crucial for players to enjoy their game, which we provide. Let's concentrate on achieving the results we need rather than worrying about losing players. If we get the results, they are likely to stay.

Stephen Darby played for Swindon Town on loan in 2010 and came to Notts for a season in 2011.

Stop complaining and get back to work!

Bochum's cup shirt
I don't understand why fans would be bothered about a one-off shirt. If this happened with an English team right now, with the cost of living, I think it would cause a media storm.

Weekly Chat 26th August- 1st September
@TheSkipper, that sounds great, mate! Does this mean you won't be sharing who you have met and funny stories about how people react to these celebrities? ???? I had a scan on my leg yesterday, received the results, and need to have another operation at some point to reset it. I likely need to see a specialist, but I am up and about and able to walk. I didn't think I would say I missed work, but I do.

Match Discussion: Game 4 - The Robins (A)
I am cautious of teams that desperately need a win. Swindon are in that exact situation, and so far, things have gone mostly in our favour. I think the game could unfold similarly to the Fleetwood match. While I hope it's not a draw, I believe they will try to make it difficult for us to play our usual game. Notts will need to be creative and outsmart them, so it will come down to finishing any good chances.

Alassana Jatta: In The Goals.
Jatta is a goalscorer, there's no doubt about it. With the right approach, he will score goals that will help us secure wins. He's a very good player, and I enjoy watching him outskill players who should be more agile than him. For his size, he's a beast on the ball.

Is I Robot Much Closer to Reality?
@Robbie, It could be a disaster if machines were used to equip armies and fight. Someone will eventually make it happen, which would force every nation that could afford it to try and do the same. It's a terrible idea that wouldn't improve the world. Peace seems much easier than creating human robots.

Lou Macari at Notts last Thursday
I didn’t know that Lou Macari had attended Meadow Lane. Notts should get a photo of the two of them because it would be good to encourage that connection. I hope Lou enjoyed it, and I bet Lou Macari enjoyed having his grandfather watching.

Transfer Rumours : Cedwyn Scott
Speculation and rumors will link almost all of our players at some point, but I wouldn’t worry. I also don’t believe these fake accounts. As @Robbie and @ARLukomski have mentioned, it’s false news.

Energy Price Cap to Rise 10%.
It makes sense to join a fixed tariff. However, if prices were likely to go down, people would be locked in. Unfortunately, prices won’t go down. The UK needs to control energy prices. Martin Lewis is brilliant with his financial advice.

Opposition View: Swindon Town Fan Lee Witts' Honest Analysis Ahead of Notts County Match
On paper, and based on current form, I think Notts would be the favorites. However, anyone can beat anyone in League Two on any given day. It’s important for Notts to control the game, be creative, and be defensively solid. Swindon have some tall players who are good at set pieces, but I’m more confident knowing we have the calm Alex Bass in goal. It should be a very technical game where skill will make the difference.

August Player of the Month: Pride of Nottingham
I voted for the player who I think has been the most consistent. I think all three players who were named deserve it. But I prioritised their impact on the game, their performances, and how they have generally been when playing for Notts.

Welcome to Notts, Lucas Ness
Lucas Ness should be a good addition. In time, I hope he proves that he was a good signing. I like that we have sorted out the defense and not settled for what we have. I don't think we need any more defenders or midfielders. I think Sam Slocombe and Aidan Stone are good enough as backups. I just wish we had another option up front. But I welcome Ness to the club.
