Fan Zone New Name
The images of the football ground, The Nest, have an eerie quality and seem like theyβre straight out of a nightmare. However, I appreciate Nottsβ decision to name their fan zone after it. Itβs a clever move and provides the hub with a social function, encouraging fans to interact and bond.

The Nest, 1924
At first, I made the same mistake, interpreting βtheirβ as referring to Notts. I was puzzled as to why Crystal Palace, known as the Eagles, might have had a ground called The Nest. I had the impression that they resided in a nest known as an Eyrie.

Help Our Moderation Team by Reporting Issues
I donβt believe members will ever be granted the power to erase their own posts. It would be a nightmare for moderators to figure out what went wrong in a discussion if individuals could remove their own content. Most online forums and message boards donβt even allow you to modify your posts, and if they do, itβs only for a limited time. Every message is recorded, but this isnβt the case for deleted posts. Moderators would have to check the ModCP and review every deleted message. If everyone had this power, it could result in a longer log of deleted posts. The best approach is to contact a moderator or use the report function if you want something removed. Simply explain that you want your post deleted.

Fact of the day 06 July 2024
Regardless of what others may say about Gareth Southgate, I believe heβs performed admirably in his role. Itβs true that the team hasnβt lived up to expectations in this tournament, but a competent manager knows how to steer the ship in rough waters. Iβm aware that some outspoken supporters attribute the changes to fan pressure. However, even Ivan Toney has expressed regret to Southgate for his late entry into the game. Initially, I might have agreed with the fans, but itβs clear that Toney understood the reasons behind the decision afterwards. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and this is mine.

The Nest, 1924
Notts had a ground known as The Nest? If thatβs the case, I must admit, I wasnβt aware of this either. I thought I was familiar with all the grounds where Notts has played. Could it be possible that he's referring to Park Hollow?

Where are they now : Sam Stubbs
I recall hearing that he had been substituted, but I didnβt realise the severity of the situation. A broken skull is enough to cause nightmares, and itβs incredibly brave to return to a sport that requires good heading skills, especially as a defender. I hope all his worries are now in the past.

Tony Hateley
He appeared to be a robust player with considerable strength, from what Iβve seen, and he had an amazing knack for scoring goals. Iβve read about Tony Hateley here and at Liverpool. I know heβs greatly admired by the Scousers, perhaps not as much as us, but he had a remarkable stint with Notts. His return worked out well, which is rare for good players. Even Ronaldo wasnβt as impressive during his second spell at Manchester United, but Hateley played for Notts as if he owed them something.

Can England Get To The Euro 24 Final?
Itβs easier to say yes when youβre in the semi-finals compared to the group stages, but I genuinely believe that England are starting to believe in themselves as a squad. They seem to be improving with every game. I donβt see it happening, but I would bench Harry Kane and give someone else a chance. Then, knowing this wonβt happen, he will score one or two goals, but heβs been underperforming. Cole Palmer is such a talent. In my opinion, heβs more gifted and confident beyond his years than Jude Bellingham. I think England will reach the final, but winning is a different matter.

Euro 24 Watch (knockout Stage)
Iβm not watching the Netherlands vs Turkey game, although I would much prefer to play against Turkey. The Netherlands seem to be strong only in key areas, but they are one of those unpredictable teams. Iβm not so sure about Turkey, but I feel quietly confident. Englandβs match was a nerve-wracking one, especially with it going to penalties. I think Switzerland put on a good show and made us feel lucky on three occasions. I was disappointed with Harry Kane, he barely got involved and Iβm at the point where I donβt want to see him. Heβs put in very little effort in any of these games, but credit to our penalty takers and Jordan Pickford for saving a penalty.

England v Switzerland: Pre & Post Match Analysis.
Englandβs performance was significantly better, easily the best of the tournament. However, there were still moments where we fell a bit short. The defence seemed more comfortable and improved, although Switzerlandβs goal was a disappointment. It was a quality break by them. John Stones could have performed better. I donβt blame Kyle Walker, but perhaps he should have been positioned in front of the Swiss scorer and made a greater effort to block the goal. Bukayo Sakaβs goal was a stunner! What a response from England, they really pushed and elevated their game. The match felt more like a duel between two teams that were both trying their best. The ending on penalties was nerve-wracking, but our players took their penalties with such calmness.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Reds (A)
Iβm hopeful that weβll begin with a robust team, showcasing all the new recruits and fielding what we perceive to be our premier squad. It would be interesting to observe their performance as a unit in the initial 45 minutes, followed by strategic alterations in the second half. While I wouldnβt form any conclusions based on the friendly match, as itβs merely a practice run, I believe it would be beneficial to give the potential starting lineup some early playtime together, barring the inclusion of all the new signings. Rod McDonald and Curtis Edwards may not currently be viewed as starters by some, but it would be insightful to see how they fare in what could be our optimal lineup.

Cameron to St Johnstone?
Is he going to battle for his starting position or depart to a team where heβs likely to be a regular starter? It hinges on how earnest St Johnstone is, but it would be logical. If he stays here, I hope he can demonstrate to everyone that heβs a competent player and would thrive with the right teammates. If he departs, I hope the transfer fee is justified and will be used to recruit another centre-back.

Tiernan to Gateshead?
Iβve not seen any solid evidence yet. Iβm certain that if there was any news, someone here would have spotted it. So, for now, letβs consider it as just rumours. We need to wait for an official announcement. Until then, I donβt have much to add. I just think Tiernan Brooks is a promising player and sitting on the bench or being loaned out isnβt doing him any good.

Season Tickets Sold
I recall when we had just over 2,000 season ticket holders and there were many grumbles about the cost. We all feared that the National League would be detrimental, but in my view and experience, itβs been one of the best developments. That, and the arrival of the Reedtz brothers! I wish we had managed to turn things around before being relegated, but it did prompt the club to reassess things, even under new ownership. Notts has made a significant turnaround and with players like Macaulay Langstaff, Jodi Jones and others, fans are undoubtedly thrilled and feel a stronger connection to the club. Itβs fantastic to see that weβve sold a substantial number of tickets so far.

Throwing beer about at The Nest
Notts might need to adopt a personalised approach with their cups, similar to what Starbucks and Costa do. This could involve intentionally writing incorrect names on peopleβs cups. Itβs a quirky practice that adds a touch of humour and individuality to each cup.

Hurricane Beryl
This is dreadful news. Already, there are three confirmed fatalities, and the massive storm is affecting people in numerous ways. Itβs heartbreaking to witness the destructive power of nature. Hurricane Beryl appears to be quite horrific.

Throwing beer about at The Nest
If youβre planning to visit The Nest for one of these premium events, donβt forget to bring a collapsible umbrella. Be prepared to open it at a momentβs notice, especially when a goal seems imminent. But if youβre attending an England game, thereβs no need to worry. The chances of needing an umbrella are quite low. Of course, Iβm only jesting. After all, who wants to resemble Steve McLaren watching an England match?

Where are they now : Tom Crawford
Oh, give over! I might have mentioned once or twice that I wouldnβt mind him returning. I might have commented on his good performances or goals for Hartlepool. I might have even used his picture as my display picture and on Twitter. But that doesnβt mean Iβm not chuffed. Iβm glad heβs found a club, and I hope he does well for them.

Notts County Unveils Stylish New Home Shirt for 2024-25 League Two Season
The home shirt seems nice to me, and Iβm quite pleased with the design. The club has demonstrated some creativity with this concept, which might not be fully appreciated. However, when we eventually return to a more traditional look, it will feel fresh. I commend the club for trying something different once again.

Farewell Rawlinson
Five years show how much better the club is because, under different regimes, Connell Rawlinson would have left sooner. Not because he didn't do well; I think he was solid in his first season and did well in his second. The club would have just moved on from the plan, signed a different player, and never allowed more than a handful to settle. Rawlo is a great guy, and Iβm very thankful we had him and gave him last season. I hope he finds a club that will respect him and get the best out of what he offers.
