  1. Predicting our play away from home is difficult as we’ve been inconsistent. It largely depends on how we start. If we start well, the game should be entertaining with opportunities. But if we start slowly or AFC Wimbledon dominate possession, it could be frustrating. I don’t think it will be easy, but we have a strong midfield that just needs to create opportunities for Macaulay Langstaff and David McGoldrick.
  2. He performed brilliantly and would be my pick for Man of the Match. He’s similar to Matt Palmer in how he just gets on with the game. Dan Crowley was a handful for Bradford in the first half, and in the second half, he had moments of brilliance that opened up the play. However, everyone’s performance started to drop, which is natural when you’re leading 4-0. It’s more about concentration and game management.

  4. Honestly, the forum discussions are excellent. You'll find many individuals sharing interesting topics, such as @piethagoram @fan of @dangeroussausage etc. There are no arguments, we simply discuss and everything is very civilised. You might find that your contributions enhance the discussion and encourage others to participate.
  5. It's going to be a tough match, Gillingham have recruited well in the summer and they aren't easily defeated, but there have been some unexpected results. I believe that regardless of the outcome on Saturday, they will be one of the teams vying for promotion. At present, I'm uncertain how Luke Williams can orchestrate a win, as it seems to me that the match is likely to end in a draw. I hope I'm mistaken, we do have a lot of talent and there are potential game-changers throughout the team, but our form is slightly more worrying than theirs. The fact that they are playing at home and capable of causing problems is the tricky part. Notts must remain resilient and improve their defence, otherwise I can see it being like the Colchester match where we have to equalise to secure a draw or something more challenging.
  6. Yes, normal service has resumed and I hope we can just carry on from here. The disruption wasn't welcome, but at least measures have been taken to improve the site. I truly value everyone's contributions, not just @Chris and the two individuals who helped revive PON. The members also make a significant impact and deserve recognition!

  8. Here’s the revised table, at the very top we have a dancing banana and @Fan of Big Tone. @Fozzy is close behind. I’ll have to come up with one that might favour @super_ram, as I’m feeling a bit sympathetic towards him. Please keep participating, I’ll make sure rounds are posted from now on for prompting. Good luck! Points Table: @Fan of Big Tone - 6 @Fozzy - 5 @super_ram - 2 @KB1862 - 1 @liampie- 1 @Piethagoram- 1 Next round (Round 17) will be posted on Monday, 9th October between 5-6pm.
  9. I want to throw another defender into the mix, that is Alex Lacey.
  10. I’m pleased that the Reedtz are our owners during this time. They deserve a celebration, especially with such a significant milestone game coming up. Our 5000th game could be a real cause for celebration if we perform well and get the right result. Like @liampie, I’ve enjoyed reading this and the pop culture references from that era add a nice touch.
  11. Notts are currently making history. With our owners, we’re taking big steps to awaken this sleeping giant of a club. Luke and his team of coaches, along with the players, are doing a fantastic job. We hope to commemorate our 5000th game with a strong showing. It won’t be easy, but if all the players put in the effort and create opportunities, I’m confident in what can be achieved.
  12. I was filled with anger, frustration, and worry for @Chris. He dedicates a significant amount of his time to managing this platform, often going above and beyond for us Notts fans, and yet he seldom receives the gratitude he deserves. The cyber attack must have been a dreadful experience for him, which is utterly disgraceful on the part of those involved. It’s a relief to be back online, and I’m confident that it won’t be long before everything returns to normal. The sense of community here is unparalleled, so I hope that everyone will find their way back soon. Together, we can demonstrate that Notts and PON are the go-to places for our fans on the internet.
  13. “Cutting out individual errors is point number one,” This statement is spot on. It’s not a big problem, but we do need to start maintaining more shutouts if we want to keep ourselves at the top. As long as we can secure victories and minimise losses or points dropped, there’s always a chance we can remain in the lead. I believe part of the problem lies in our starting strategy. If John Bostock isn’t playing, we need to consider how that might affect our defence and ensure that everyone is working together. Good defending is crucial to winning games, regardless of how many goals we let in. Mistakes are bound to happen, this is League Two football after all, but I think Mark Stallard’s comment hits the mark.
  14. It was a bit annoying, but I must give credit to Colchester United as they managed to stay on top of the game. If John Bostock had been playing from the beginning, I don’t think they would have been able to apply as much pressure. But that’s just how it goes. On any other day, we would have come out on top. But we didn’t this time, and we just need to look back and get better. Our main focus should be on being consistent and staying alert while defending. We need to work together as a team, rather than as individuals.
  15. While it’s never a simple affair, Colchester United demonstrated their worthiness. Our goals were impressive, and if you only saw those, you’d undoubtedly declare, ‘that’s why they’re at the top of League Two’. However, the same cannot be said if you were to see their goals. Don’t misunderstand me, they played well, but had we not made the mistakes we did, we could have won. The errors were our own doing, and some of their goals weren’t particularly good. I’m not expressing this out of bitterness; defensively, we didn’t deserve anything from the game.
  16. Notts have made a comeback in the second half, showing more energy. The introduction of John Bostock has significantly improved the game. Macaulay Langstaff scored an early goal, bringing us back into the match. Well done! We need one more goal to ease the tension in the game. Forget that, we've let our fans down who came to watch us. We've given them another chance to score an open goal. It's really frustrating!
  17. Their insights on Notts’ progress so far are appreciated. I haven’t seen a Left Lion magazine in years. Have they ceased publication? It would be regrettable if that were the case.
  18. All we can do is give our utmost effort, and I’m confident that we, the fans, will support the lads and cheer them on vociferously. It would be splendid if we could secure another 2-0 victory away from home, but I’m uncertain about how Colchester United will perform against Notts. I’ve watched a few of their highlights, and it seems they’ve been unfortunate to concede some goals, while others have been a complete disaster. However, when you’re up against a team that’s near the top of the league, it naturally motivates the opposition players. I don’t anticipate an easy or routine match; I foresee a challenging first half and an improved second.
  19. Luke Williams has performed exceptionally well. He’s a valuable asset to the club and is demonstrating that with the right setup and resources, one can succeed even with limited managerial experience. He has the right approach and mindset, and Notts is the perfect club for him to gain the experience he needs to further his career in the future. As a relatively young manager, he still has much to learn. I’d wager he’s pleased to be at a club like ours.
  20. Elliott Hewitt, who also played for Colchester United, surprisingly hasn’t been mentioned. Initially a strong player for us, he lost his way but seems to have found his footing at Mansfield.
  21. Scunthorpe United appears to be in a dire situation. I would hope they can recover, but without a ground, a club isn’t much of a football team. Their owner has the potential to completely devastate the club.
  22. He’s a player who, I believe, lifted Notts’ game last season. His unique style and intense energy off the bench set him apart from our other players. This season, we haven’t seen the best of Sam Austin yet, but he’s performing well. I hope he gets more opportunities in the starting lineup. When he starts, he shows great potential. However, as a substitute, he seems to take a while to adjust to the game’s speed. His confidence is evident in his play, and I agree with his sentiments on its importance.
  23. As for Dagenham’s new signing, while Freddie Sears may be past his prime, he should still prove effective in the National League.
  24. There’s undoubtedly a belief that we have the potential to excel. Without explicitly stating it, if our growth continues, I don’t see why we couldn’t enjoy another successful season. However, there’s still a considerable journey ahead. Luke Williams is well aware of this and our aim is to maintain our form as best as we can. Winning matches instils a certain mindset within the team, which becomes second nature and almost instinctive. Therefore, by Williams taking each match as it comes, we remain grounded and able to concentrate on what truly matters.
