  1. If they had managed to retain more of their top players from the team that won the promotion, it might have been beneficial when bringing in new players. Nothing is impossible, and while it’s unlikely, they might have been able to compete at the higher end of League One. It would have been a challenge, but with the unity their squad developed in League Two, it could have been achievable. In our first match against them, they seemed average, but they improved significantly in our subsequent encounter. Adam Campbell was particularly challenging.
  2. Swindon Town could be a suitable team for John Bostock. He deserves the opportunity to play for another reasonably large League Two team. It’s hard to imagine him playing regularly in League One, but in football, you never know. It would be unfortunate to see him move down to the National League, but the right project could greatly benefit the later stages of his career.
  3. This could potentially be a beneficial move for both footballers. However, there are some concerns regarding Will Randall’s motivation to excel in a team like Swindon. Swindon has a reputation for cycling through players at a faster rate than we were accustomed to in the past. It’s something to consider.
  4. Honestly, offering cheaper soft drinks could potentially increase revenue, assuming Notts can partner with a suitable company. It could be a win-win situation for both parties. Given the high cost of soft drinks at the club, a more affordable option that meets the club’s demand could be worth exploring. The challenge lies in finding a supplier, placing a substantial order, and ensuring the taste is appealing. Just because something is cheaper doesn’t necessarily mean people will buy it. However, if it’s tasty and offers good value, it could be a hit. @Piethagoram https://www.refresco.com/en/stories/refresco-completes-acquisition-cotts-bottling-activities/
  5. Volunteering at Nottingham Hospital is commendable, and something that Notts fans who are patients there will surely appreciate. It’s lovely that Ian has fond memories of his trips to cover the games, even if his time at Wembley for Notts was in an empty stadium. Wendy’s struggle with her brain tumour diagnosis is distressing. I empathise with the family and hope they continue to bravely confront this challenge together. It’s undoubtedly tough, but I’m certain that I’m not the only fan sending well wishes to the couple.
  6. It’s evident in your videos that you’re sometimes affected by your health issues, and I must admit, I’ve been worried since you mentioned your breathing problem. We’re all part of the Notts fan community, and you’re no different. If you ever need to talk, feel free to message me on Twitter or here. I don’t mean to intrude, but it’s clear that you’re a good person with a deep love for Notts. Your content is a joy to consume, but please don’t stress over maintaining high standards. Chasing perfection can lead to unhappiness, but if your viewers are enjoying your content, that’s a special achievement. I’ll be honest, I don’t follow many vloggers because I often find them uninteresting. But you’re different. You connect with people, sharing your insights and experiences as a fan. You have a balanced presence that never crosses the line. You may be known in the Notts community for your videos, but it’s you, the person behind the camera, that we connect with.
  7. It’s disappointing that they didn’t honour your win, even with your parents’ permission. I don’t see why your age should have been an issue, especially with your dad’s support. It’s simply wrong that they let you enter, announced you as a winner, and then let it amount to nothing.
  8. Hello, @Mark Holland. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. Would you tell us a little something about yourself, such as how long you have supported Notts?
  9. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @jake008. Not only a fan of Notts but James Bond also? Tell us something about yourself, if you would.
  10. Except, PON does keep a record of every edit made, allowing us to compare what has been removed. So, if any issues arise, it wouldn’t be too challenging to determine what happened and identify any comments that might have been altered.
  11. I believe we likely signed Jatta with the anticipation of receiving offers for Macaulay Langstaff at the end of the season or during the pre-season. He had once again scored a significant number of goals, demonstrating his adaptation to life in League Two. I doubt that everything would have been finalised back then, and I’m sure the media would have speculated if they had any leads. I do think Notts retained Macca to boost season ticket sales, all the while knowing that appointing him as captain might give us fans false hope of him staying. At this point, I just hope the deal was ultimately worthwhile. He was bound to leave at some point, and I understand why some fans might feel disappointed. Personally, I’m looking forward to the new season and wish Macca all the best at Millwall.
  12. I watched the linked vlog. Notts seemed to ease off, possibly due to the weather, but it’s just a friendly at the end of the day. The penalty awarded for a foul by Adam Chicksen seemed harsh. Their player appeared to be all over him, and it looked more like he was pulling himself down by holding onto Chicksen. I won’t complain, but it felt soft. The referee’s decision seemed to boost MSV’s morale. @Robbie, the old Notts site did feature a live update ticker. @DangerousSausage, are there any fans of our very own Manuel Neuer, also known as Sam Slocombe?
  13. Ryley Reynolds is a promising player. From previous season friendlies and glimpses I’ve seen, he seems like a capable young player who would improve significantly with more game time, much like James Sanderson. I hope we don’t just loan them out but find a way to give them first-team experience. Reynolds appears to be a promising future player.
  14. It's always difficult for a team like Crawley to keep their players. Being promoted is a great achievement, but we benefit from it too. Two of their better players have come our way, and both are very good. Kellan Gordon is a great signing for us, adding much-needed depth. Fans saying we don't need many players should remember that our form suffered last season from tiredness and a lack of reasonable options. It's a good thing!
  15. You wouldn't have guessed this, but if it happens, it's a good move for him. The French league isn't as great as people say, but it's a good opportunity.
  16. How about a former player? Your old choice, DeadlyDennis, still works. He was a good striker for us. He just needed more time on the field, as his finishing ability was never in doubt.
  17. I haven’t visited, but many of these types of islands seem to offer a more relaxed and laid-back atmosphere, which is very appealing for escaping the hustle and bustle of modern life. How many times have you visited, @Piethagoram?
  18. I don’t believe he should have stayed, but I concur with others that it would have been nice to see him compete for his spot. I get the impression that Kyle Cameron might sense his days are numbered and wanted to move before he became redundant. We have been somewhat more ruthless in phasing out players from the team and listing them for transfer, which is the preferred way for the club to manage player transitions.
  19. The move didn’t pan out solely due to Will Randall’s approach. He didn’t seize the early opportunities he had and seemed detached. I understand that it can take time, but he never appeared to be catching up with the team’s style of play. He did alright at times, with very limited involvement, but considering the anticipation surrounding his arrival, it ended up being a letdown. I wish him well, but I’d prefer someone with less skill but more passion to play than Randall.
  20. I need to update my display picture! I’m really upset, but I have the memories and all the matches from last season to remember his skill. It’s been a remarkable period, but I think the club is much better at discovering players now. We may not find another player quite like Macaulay Langstaff, but there’s no reason why we can’t find another player who can score 20+ goals a season or give Cedwyn Scott more opportunities to display his talent.
  21. I believe we missed an opportunity to give him some playing time last season before we signed Lewis Macari. Notts could have let him play a game or two. However, I can’t envision any young player getting much of a chance when the stakes are high or if the club is under pressure to perform well. We’re not one of those teams that gives a young player a fair shot. It’s easy to say they’re not up to the mark, but how do we, as fans, really know? No one would have anticipated this move.
  22. Macaulay Langstaff’s time with us has indeed been a bustling period. His knack for scoring goals became a familiar sight, and every time he had an opportunity, we felt certain he would seize it. We consider ourselves fortunate to have witnessed his tenure at Notts, as players of his calibre don’t come around every season. He leaves as a hero, and while his move may have been a surprise, we need not dwell on the decision. Instead, we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
  23. Don't get me wrong, I anticipated this would occur eventually and I believe it’s a positive step for Macaulay Langstaff. Although it’s unfortunate that he’s moving to a club like Millwall, I’m confident he will excel there. That being said, I don’t think Notts should have hurried to make him the captain. In retrospect, they should have been patient. This has resulted in a wave of negativity, which is a clear sign of poor management.
  24. This transfer was unexpected. It appears that Notts County is planning to invest more in the first team with the transfers of Lucien Mahovo and Tiernan Brooks. This is a great opportunity for the young player, one that neither he nor the club could turn down. I wish him all the best.
  25. There are specific areas in Australia where I wouldn’t fancy being stranded in a car, particularly some of the more secluded and dark locations. I’m aware that Highway 66 in America is well-known and has a reputation for being unsafe for solo or duo travellers due to the horror stories associated with it. However, in terms of places you might regret visiting, Australia just about takes the lead.
