  1. It was good to see Notts get straight to making Accrington work. The way we passed early on gave Notts a feel for what to expect from them. Making them chase for the ball, as we casually knocked it around, gave our players a glimpse into how their movement would open up. I think we started to figure that out quite early, hence the focus on playing the ball through the middle to David McGoldrick. Jacob Bedeau’s pass was well-timed, and McGoldrick’s finish was Premier League standard. With Notts using the centre of the pitch a bit more, it was encouraging. Though we did use the wider spaces to draw markers and at times needed to lump the ball forward. There was only a little bit of pressure from Accrington, as defensively Notts were on top of things. I liked seeing George Abbott get stuck in. It took him some time to get more involved, but it’s not a negative. I think for the first 20 minutes he just wanted to focus on defending and what he could do to help, while he became more confident on the ball. He looked good going forward too, very focused with his passing. I am not sure how a third goal didn’t go in. I can imagine if David McGoldrick hadn’t scored his goals. Some of the saves Michael Kelly pulled off were frustrating, as he did have a top game, but Notts were just unlucky at other times.
  2. That was a very bad red card. He should have tackled harder if he wanted to go home early.
  3. Good luck to the two former Notts players. I hope they do well at Matlock.
  4. It was great to see Jim O'Brien back at Meadow Lane. I'm happy he's coaching young players at Sheffield United, but I hope he can come back here as a coach one day.
  5. I don't like how match fixers try to get people to feel sorry for them. They have become professional footballers, which is something many people would love to do. So, I don't feel sorry for them when they want more money, even though they already have good wages.
  6. I think Ebbesfleet is giving this player a chance to prove himself. His time here showed that he wasn't good enough for our team.
  7. This is great news for Notts County! I'm so happy for Jodi. He's an amazing player, and he's much better than most players at this level. He's one of the best players in League Two, and we were lucky to have him in the National League. I'm glad we were able to keep him and stop other teams from signing him.
  8. It is good to know that Notts County are helping such a talented young player to start his senior football career. It is nice to see him settle in at Meadow Lane. I hope he enjoys his season with us, as he looks set to make a big contribution to our push for a top finish. Spurs fans will hopefully be delighted to know that he is doing well and being taken care of.
  9. It was impressive to see how Notts continued to play despite Accrington Stanley's rough play. I think Accrington Stanley were lucky not to have received a red card. Stuart Maynard's management during the game and his choice of players were excellent. I hope this will lead to more support for the club. This is a good start for the club, and we can build on it. If we can bring back the togetherness we had during the promotion season from the National League, that would be even better. I think Stuart Maynard is very polite and focused, despite the negativity expressed towards him. This is the start we wanted, and we need to continue to believe in ourselves.
  10. Well done, everyone! I won't miss a round from now on. I was just giving @liampie a head start in the Prediction League. There's still a lot to play for, so make sure to come back for future rounds.
  11. Well done, gaffer! I always enjoy seeing your Faces of PON gallery. Great photos!
  12. He's before my time too, but I'm very familiar with the name Paul Devlin. He played for Notts for a decent amount of time, so I'm not surprised that he's well-liked and considered a club legend. I haven't seen him play, but I think this article gives a good insight into him as a player.
  13. Barnsley 2-1 Bristol Rovers Joker Charlton Athletic 2-0 Rotherham United Cheltenham Town 1-1 Harrogate Town Colchester United 2-0 Bromley Doncaster Rovers 1-1 Gillingham Braintree Town 1-2 Woking Gateshead 2-1 Barnet Hartlepool United 3-1 Halifax Town
  14. That's a solid opposition view. I'm pleased to see these discussions return, and I think Michael answers the questions very well. He's right that Accrington Stanley played well against us last season, but it won't be easy for either team. I'm hoping for more than a win for Notts, but I'd respect a point against a side like them.
  15. I hope we repeat the applause in the 76th minute or at least chant his name. His time at Notts brought a lot of attention to the club and reawakened a sleeping fanbase. To be the best team in that season and win the title, after it seemed to be between Rochdale and Bournemouth, I think it's only right we repeat it.
  16. I think the worst Millwall could do is give up on the player. You have to keep pushing and hope that hard work pays off. It's a combination of game time, settling in, and training that could ultimately make the signing work. I don't think their manager has been patient enough. Nobody can say he won't make it at Championship level. If they give up so easily on a signing, no wonder they struggle.
  17. It should be an exciting match. I think most teams that play us at home will try to counter-attack to combat our possession. Accrington Stanley are a good side at this level and will certainly give us problems. Matt Platt, Lewis Macari, and Jacob Bedeau seem to be forming a solid partnership in defence, which is very effective alongside the commanding presence of Alex Bass. They give me a lot of confidence, but we're strong in every area of the pitch. I think Jodi Jones will thrive on the attention Stanley might give him.
  18. I'm glad Greg Abbott is still involved in football. The last I heard, he'd beaten cancer and was enjoying life after his recovery. I think his illness forced him to step down from his previous position, so it's nice to know he's still around the game he loves. He always had a great sense of humour at Notts.
  19. Both goals show David McGoldrick's class. Those are top-class shots. They're both equally good. They're very well-placed, with a bit of skill before he decides where to place it.
  20. Everyone will have their own choice, but Dan Crowley was voted the winner. I think he deserved it, and I hope he continues to play well.
  21. It's nice to see you. Don't be a stranger, @BradtheMiller. We like seeing fans of other clubs. It gives us a different perspective. I think you'll see that PON is doing really well right now.
  22. Great win for our women's team! I'm glad they won. They've had a great start to the season.
  23. I tried to see if Google Lens could read some of the text, but it mostly said nonsense. If you click on the image and then press to see the full resolution, you can read most of the text.
  24. Swindon Town played some good football. Defensively, Notts looked much stronger, even though we signed new players to strengthen our defense. I thought every player gave their all, and that's all I ask for. As for the result, I'm pleased we showed the strength and character to achieve it. We must continue from here.
  25. Notts showed a different side to their game yesterday. It's important to be able to dig deep when results are important. Good teams can do that. Swindon Town played well. Defensively, we're looking much better under Stuart Maynard, and the new players have added much-needed defensive cover. When you can win while still performing well, but it might not be as entertaining, as David McGoldrick said, it's the win that matters.
