  1. Round 12 clue: This person is a professional footballer who primarily featured in central midfielder when he signed for Notts. He has played for clubs across the United Kingdom. Points Table: @Fan of Big Tone - 4 @Fozzy - 4 @KB1862 - 1 @liampie - 1 @super_ram - 1
  2. Every successful team needs a player who can be a leader without the armband. He’s such a good guy and works hard to maintain his place. He offers much more than just experience, which I think was shown towards the end of the season. His composure and ability to help influence the game make him a key squad member. I love watching him do his turns; how other players don’t catch onto it, I don’t know. But at 35 years of age, he has shown he can still feature as and when we need him. I am pleased he’s agreed to this new deal.
  3. I will be back at 6pm for another round, with an updated table and to see if I can get a sneaky one past the majority of you. Please do keep guessing and asking questions. I may be tied up, but a good point is if you discuss potential people amongst yourselves. I will do my very best to reply when questions do come, it's just that some days work can be very busy. @Fan of Big Tone of, no you are perfectly within your rights to take a guess. There are no rules about waiting, I just wanted to address that first. Keep guessing everyone!
  4. It is 2023, after all.
  5. I prefer easy-to-listen-to music. I think the 80s had some great songs and, while I could get through a playlist with songs from that period, I find myself more of a fan of the 70s, with the rock and roll styles being a bit easier to enjoy. I do not like much modern music. @super_ram, I remember my mum watching Sharpe on ITV when I was a little child. The song reminds me of those days. If I were to name a few preferred artists, I would say Frank Turner, Elton John, The Hollies, Fifth Avenue, Jason Mraz, Coldplay and Michael Bublé.
  6. Clips like this show all the best bits, but you might be able to put together a video showing the blips any player makes. I think you have to add your own judgement and understand what the player brings. I don’t think Malta has a player like Jodi Jones.
  7. This is upsetting. I don’t understand why anyone would feel the need to go that far. I also don’t understand the situation, but I refuse to read about it. It’s just upsetting and I don’t want to focus on that.
  8. Good luck to him against Oxford. I think the step up might end up disappointing Ruben. I hope for his sake he’s made the right decision to join them. I thought he might have left for Derby or gone back to the Dutch leagues.
  9. He sure knows how to have a good time and let his hair down. He drank some strong alcohol too. No wonder he was extremely drunk. Ha ha ha!!
  10. It’s a shame to see such a good player go, but Notts can find a replacement. I think we have found one in David McGoldrick, although he may not be a long-term solution. I am happy, yet still sad to see Ruben leave. I would like to thank him for his contributions, laughter and amazing skills which brought delight to us Notts fans. I wish him well at Oxford United.
  11. Doesn’t anyone recall him at Rotherham United? He was quite the player for them. He had a season where everyone was talking about how far his career had gone. I bet @BradtheMiller could tell us more about him. He’s quite a good player when his head is focused, with a good pedigree but does have the habit of losing his consistency.
  12. I have to say it always looked to be the case. He did well for us and although he was a very good player on his day and in spells, I think there are more consistent players out there. I also think it shows that David McGoldrick is the replacement for Ruben. It’s a shame to see him go, but I am excited about who remains and who else we might bring in. Good luck to Ruben with his next adventure.
  13. I can’t stand these types of fans. It’s annoying to see people act so selfish and childish. The fan deserved it for sure. Well done to the Nottingham Police.
  14. He does scrub up well, very dashing. Very much one for the lady fans out there. Maybe the club should do a calendar with the players. lol
  15. Poor Bury. For the betterment of being kind, I wish Carl Dickinson well. I also wish Bury far more.
  16. I am pleased with the current situation, and I am leaning towards the belief that everything will end successfully. Based on my observations, I believe that our latest member will play a similar role to Ruben Rodrigues, but he may also be able to play as a striker. We currently have four skilled strikers, and Macaulay Langstaff will be our primary point of focus. I would be delighted if some quick, skillful midfielders and defenders joined our team. Alternatively, if we intend to add more depth, we could have some of our young players fill the remaining positions. I am thrilled that David McGoldrick is joining us as we push to return to League One.
  17. Sorry, I'm out at the moment and wasn't able to reply until now. @Fozzy, I think you were on the right path. The player in question played far more than his brother and I think they would've played in the same side briefly. @Fan of Big Tone has guessed correct.
  18. I honestly didn’t know what to make of this and I still feel indifferent, it’s one of those you can see it going either way. I believe David McGoldrick will work hard but sometimes you need pure quality and I’m worried what happens if he’s not as mobile as we need. That said, I welcome him and I’m pleased we have signed our third player. Do you think he will fit in well with our style of play?
  19. This is how I feel, he wasn't the worst. At first fans loved him but because he didn't take the nonsense on Twitter, the usual lot turned on him and it's stuck ever since. Yes, he wasn't the best, but he tried and most don't give him that much credit.
  20. I am still undecided about this. I think he could do wonders for us, but the main issue is how he will fit into the team. I hope he proves to me that it was a good decision to bring him back and that we manage to keep Macca for the full season.
  21. Round 11 Clue; Who was the former footballer that played in the full back position and was a product of the youth system at Notts County where his older brother was already a first team regular? I have refrained from posting to allow @Fozzy the opportunity to regain his focus, as he was away enjoying the success of previous rounds. Good luck with your guesses.
  22. I think he means that the investment from Notts’ sponsors for promotional purposes will potentially be reinvested by the club in any transfer deal. The sponsors aren’t paying anyone’s wages. Didn’t they stop this sort of thing? You would have thought someone who works for The Athletic would phrase things correctly. For that reason, I don’t buy it. The Athletic writes good stories.
  23. Interesting list of players. Some of the names make the blog seem more on point due to naming players who are already linked or rumoured, but it’s a decent read. I trust the recruitment to bring in the right players.
  24. I think only Ruben Rodrigues will go, but if you believe all the gossip sites, we have increased offers for each of these players. Ruben is off to Ipswich, not Derby, via paddle boat. I don’t see him staying now, but I think Aaron Nemane will stick it out and sign a new one-year deal. Kyle Cameron is being offered the first 3-year deal and Jim O’Brien is being given a rolling year deal.
  25. Brilliant story. I think it makes it better than Luton because of how they have risen through the leagues without having fallen. It will be nice to see them do well in the German top flight; they seem to have a decent team.
