  1. Sonny Aljofree is stronger at defending than Lewis Macari. Macari offers more going forward, so it depends on what the team needs most. Lucas Ness is harder to judge. He’s had injuries and hasn’t really settled into the side yet. Jacob Bedeau is tough to leave out, even when he’s not at his best. He’s got a presence that’s hard to replace.

Rod McDonald has looked very comfortable. I think Martin Paterson might move him back to the right side of the centre backs. It would be a shame if that made the defence less balanced. McDonald has done really well and deserves credit.

  2. The impact of the Lifeline’s initiatives goes beyond financial contributions. it’s about community and ensuring Notts County remains competitive both on and off the pitch.

Enhancements like the high-performance gym are game-changers, giving our players the tools needed to excel. Fans can appreciate smoother matchday entries with updated turnstiles, highlights of the club’s dedication to improving fan experiences. Equally impressive is Lifeline's proven legacy in enriching the club's infrastructure, a testament to what passionate support can achieve.

It’s good to know that every contribution, big or small, collectively drives the club forward.

  3. It’s a good sign that we’re adding players who can cover areas where we might get unlucky with injuries. That kind of planning helps keep us strong across the season. It also makes me wonder if we might be switching up the formation a bit. One thing that stands out is how attacking these signings are. That could make things more exciting going forward.

Once we’ve sorted the keeper situation, I’m hopeful we’ll play with more creativity. It feels like we’re trying to be braver and not just go backwards all the time. Let’s hope it works.

  4. I have often thought about how tempting it would be to buy Nottingham Forest, just to prove a point after the way they treated Nigel Doughty. It would also be about restoring the balance and making Notts County the top club in the city again.

Still, I don’t see any sense in throwing money at football. Too many people get involved for the wrong reasons, and they often take the credit when things go well. When they don’t, it turns sour quickly, even if your intentions are good.

It’s not something I’d want to put myself through. I’d much rather spend the money improving Nottingham and supporting causes linked to the Magpies.

  5. He looks like an interesting addition to the team. With talk of his speed and ability, it should prove to be a benefit. I see that Stuart Maynard says he will need time, so I hope nobody is quick to judge Mai Traore. However, he will get the respect he deserves from us. I am sure he will prove to be a popular addition, just like Eli Sam did.

  6. Thankfully, we shouldn't need to rely on a player to fill in as a striker, but as others before me, there will be options within the squad. If we are without an out-and-out striker, someone will surely step up. Could this be how Matty Platt gets his first goal for the club? Joking aside, someone more suited like Jodi Jones would do fine.

I would like to see a relatively strong side to take the field against Peterborough.

It will be a tough match in any case, but I do believe Notts have a chance of creating an upset.

Some players may be rested, such as David McGoldrick altogether, Matty Platt,Lewis Macari, & Matty Palmer on the bench.

I'm sure that Stuart will play a strong side on Saturday. It will be an important game for Hinchy, Martin, Brown, Scott & Gordon, who have something to prove.

Key areas will be as always, Defence, Midfield and up front. This is my starting 11 & substitutes for the match.

    Bass,
    McDonald,Ness,Bedeau.
    Gordon,Abbott,Hinchy,Tsaroulla
    Brown,Austin
    Jatta.
    Subs,

Slocombe,Scott,Palmer,Platt, Crowley,Macari, Robertson, (Robertson & Crowley if fit) otherwise Martin & Cisse

Hoping for a shock. Maybe it could finish up going to penalties after a draw.

@Robbie Spot on about them being a threat. It’ll be crucial to not give away cheap possession in dangerous areas, or we’ll be punished. I think if we can frustrate them early on, the crowd might get on their back, and that could work in our favour. Like you said, it’s all about taking our chances when they come!

  8. Alex Bass really showed his quality last night. That late save to preserve the clean sheet was top class, and his handling of crosses throughout the match was excellent. He commands his area with confidence, and that relieves so much pressure on the defence. Carlisle had some dangerous moments, especially late on, and without Bass in goal, things could have turned out differently. He’s been consistently solid this season, but last night’s performance really stood out for me. Definitely Man of the Match material!
