  1. Martin Paterson’s Black and White Army! Like I’ve said, when we’re being linked with the likes of Luke Williams, the Danish Under-21 manager, and others, it’s always going to feel like a letdown if the final choice doesn’t match what fans were hoping for. The Reedtz brothers haven’t let us down, though. Every time people question them, they keep pushing Notts forward. They’ve built something special. Maybe the one thing they could’ve done differently was back Stuart Maynard the same way they’re backing Paterson. But that’s easy to say now, looking back. It could even be that they’re putting more focus on the coaching team this time because of what happened before.
  2. If the person given the job had proper experience in management, and not just a short time at Burton, then more fans might be willing to give it a chance. What I find unfair is how some are already turning on the Reedtz, saying they'll regret the decision. Others are claiming they aren't serious or are turning into another version of the Trews. That seems harsh this early on. Being linked with Luke Williams hasn't helped, and neither has the delay. It also makes people wonder about other head coaches who might have been available. For now, all we can really do is hope they've chosen the right person.
  3. It wouldn’t be such a big deal, but one year there weren’t enough home shirts ordered. We were told they’d arrive before Christmas, but they turned up much later. I like Puma, but the club really should look at their performance more closely before signing another long-term deal. The idea of an exclusive shirt was solid, but it just wasn’t put into action well.
  4. Belated birthday wishes to you @Fan of Big Tone, its good to see you are living the rewards of many years of hard work.
  5. Ollie's addition couldn’t come at a better time. Having a player of his calibre express faith in Notts County’s project underlines that we are on a positive trajectory. His remarks about adapting to League Two’s demands are a reminder of the qualities needed to succeed. Our squad needs that experience and know-how he promises to share. Furthermore, it’s reassuring to know he values the role of supporters. Our loyal fans are an integral part of the club’s identity, and his acknowledgment of this strengthens the bond between the players and the stands. Not only does he bring a wealth of experience, but also a shared commitment to fulfilling the club’s objectives, making his signing quite pivotal.
  6. Love how Tsaroulla took his goal, he reacted so quickly, and it was a great finish. But what stands out most is his attitude. He’s not just talking about his own performance; he’s praising the fans and focusing on how the whole team is improving. That’s exactly what you want from a player. Defensively, we’re getting better every game, and it’s clear the squad is buying into what Maynard is doing. The best teams find ways to win even when they’re not at their best, and we showed that fight against Gillingham. Tsaroulla deserves all the praise, but it was a full team effort. Feels like we’re building something special here!

  8. Happy birthday, Neil! You made us dream big again.
  9. Interesting move for Leicester City, but as a Notts fan, I’ve seen enough managerial turnover to know stability is key. I am not exactly sure how this appointment will turn out, I half expect it to end in tears, but he could do well. They need someone who they will stand by, so hopefully it won't end in disaster for them.
  10. Martin Allen is such a character. I’ve followed his career since his days at West Ham, but his stint at Notts County was special. The way he galvanised the team to avoid relegation in 2011 was impressive, and his honest approach to football management is refreshing. This event promises to be a real treat, count me in!

  12. I’ve been really impressed by how McGoldrick is handling this season. He’s playing with the energy of a much younger man but with the wisdom that only comes from years of experience. The way he described knowing he’d score the penalty, even after playing 95 minutes, just shows how much belief he has in himself. It’s great to have a player like him in the squad, especially one who cares as much about the team’s success as his own. His comments on clean sheets show his maturity, he understands that we need to be solid at the back to win matches, which is crucial. McGoldrick is the kind of leader we need if we want to keep pushing for promotion.

  17. Entertaining stories. I have nothing to add, but I want to encourage other members who might to consider joining in and adding more value to this. The Billy Connolly story sounds like he was trying to be amusing with the β€œare you lost” comment. I have seen some celebrities in person, but never had the chance to speak to them.
  18. That looks fun! It’s amazing to think how the Pride of Nottingham has thrived despite the on-field and off-field issues that Notts has faced. I’m not sure who it was in the video, but it does feel like a community. It’s a shame some of those who featured are no longer here, but that’s life.
  19. With our squad getting back to full strength, I feel optimistic. McGoldrick being rested midweek is smart; his experience will be invaluable. I would love to see us dominate possession and play with intelligence, keeping their threats at bay. Robertson and Palmer have a good understanding in midfield; I hope they can exploit any gaps. Notts fans are always vocal and that support can lift the team at crucial moments. I'm predicting Robertson with a goal and a 2-1 win for us.
  20. Absolutely, an early lead could set the tone for the rest of the match. With our strong offensive lineup, maintaining pressure on the opposition’s defence could be key. If we can capitalise on our chances early on, it might just give us the momentum we need to control the game and secure a win. Let’s hope the team brings their A-game! It's interesting how Steven mentions hoping for an attacking approach. Notts has been doing well offensively, and I'd love to see us take advantage and secure an early lead.
  21. Despite Port Vale’s recent commendable form, Notts has consistently demonstrated a robust fighting spirit, enlivened by our formidable fan base at Meadow Lane. Gordon’s interview underlined aspirations aligning with our ambitions this season. Nonetheless, it’s about utilising the tactical strengths that @Chris often speaks about. Kellan Gordon’s adaptation and his potential impact will be pivotal, especially considering Jodi Jones's absence. I’m enthusiastic about the attacking vigour we could display, and if we ensure defensive steadiness, a win isn’t beyond reach. The anticipation around Notts regaining their winning trajectory excites the supporters’ hopes. Stand tall and unite, as this fixture against Port Vale holds an essential cue for our campaign.
  22. Maynard’s squad management is spot on. He’s wisely not rushing McGoldrick back, considering his importance. The tactical flexibility is interesting; it’s not always about playing out from the back. Sometimes, going long and using players like Bass, who can distribute accurately, is key. This could help break down teams that press aggressively. With Martin and Brown joining, we now have depth, which will be crucial this season. Big game against Port Vale, and I’m feeling hopeful.
  23. Notts County’s performance was nothing short of brilliant. Stuart Maynard has instilled a fighting spirit in the squad, and it showed on the pitch. Bass’s late save secured the clean sheet, highlighting his importance to the team. The goals from Jatta and Robertson were well-crafted, reflecting effective training ground routines. The support from the fans in the stands was phenomenal, and it's clear they have a vital role in the team's success.
  24. Bass was a standout for me last night. He didn’t have loads to do, but when called upon, he delivered every time. That save near the end was brilliant, and it really capped off a solid defensive performance. He’s got this amazing ability to stay focused, even when the ball’s not in his area for long spells, and that concentration was key last night.
