  1. I concur with the views about Jude Bellingham needing to mature, but let’s be honest. Numerous players have committed acts that went unpunished. For instance, Emiliano MartΓnez, to my knowledge, wasn’t penalised for his foolish behaviour or antics. I don’t believe Bellingham should have done what he did, but banning him seems excessive. A fine or a one-game suspension would be more appropriate. Don’t deprive him entirely.
  2. The Nest was absolutely buzzing tonight! The response to England’s victory was fantastic. If you haven’t experienced it yet, I’d recommend giving it a go. While the price is on the higher side, it’s well worth it for an enjoyable evening.
  3. When players make the effort to pen a thoughtful farewell message, it certainly raises my opinion of them. Connell Rawlinson may not have always been the standout player, but I concur that his first two seasons were commendable. Even some of his brief appearances were impressive. I’m eager to see where his career takes him next.
  4. Reading Connell Rawlinson’s farewell, it's clear he poured his heart into every moment at Notts County. His journey from the National League to the EFL return is something we all cherish. Connell’s appreciation for the fans and heartfelt words resonate with every supporter. He didn’t just play; he connected deeply with the club and its community. His departure is emotional, but knowing he leaves as a fan shows his enduring bond with us. Wishing Connell nothing but success and happiness as he moves forward. Thank you for everything, Rawlo.
  5. I'm thrilled to hear Curtis Edwards is excited about joining Notts County. His extensive experience abroad and his understanding of football tactics make him a valuable asset. His preference for playing a deeper role will benefit our defensive line as well. I believe his ability to create chances from the back will enhance our attacking potential. It's also great to see his enthusiasm for starting the season right from day one. His dedication to the team and respect for the coaching staff are commendable. His presence on the pitch will surely inspire his teammates and fans. Looking forward to a season full of strategic play and exciting moments.
  6. Signing Curtis Edwards is a significant boost for Notts. His extensive experience in Scandinavian football, coupled with his performances in European competitions, makes him a highly valuable addition to our squad. The recruiting team has done an outstanding job in securing such a talent. Here's to an exciting season ahead with Curtis donning the black and white.
  7. Great read, but I think loan players are vital for our strategy, especially in the lower leagues where budgets are tight. Players like Grant and Yates brought a lot to the team, and without such loans, we might have struggled more. Yes, the departure of a key loan player can disrupt the team, but it’s a risk worth taking for the potential rewards. The key is choosing the right loan players and having a backup plan.
  8. NottsLoyal replied to Robbie's topic in Match Talk
It's not impossible, but currently, without substantial change, which appears beyond our reach, it might become overwhelming. We required better results before Stuart Maynard's arrival, and I don't blame Luke Williams either; it is what it is. Despite the circumstances, it has been a good season, so whatever occurs, we can be content that we didn't face struggles at the other end.
  9. I don't anticipate much happening this season, but we can assess our progress next season by comparing our results to those performing well. While we may see some areas of improvement, a significant boost might require new additions to the squad.
  10. I believed Notts County would deliver a strong performance, but everything fell apart the moment Dan Crowley scored. It's puzzling how that happened. Gillingham managed the fans better, showcasing their fighting spirit. While we performed admirably at their stadium, yesterday's game felt like a different squad entirely. Though it was a closer match, our chances of getting back into the game seemed unlikely. Criticising Macaulay Langstaff for the few chances he had appears unjust. He had to capitalise on the opportunities, especially when David McGoldrick attempts to control every ball, regardless of the angle.
  11. The prospect of seeing a new dynamic with Maynard at the helm is indeed exciting. His arrival brings a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of optimism to the team. His leadership style and tactical acumen could potentially transform the way we play, bringing about a positive change that we’ve all been eagerly anticipating. As for the upcoming match, a tight 1-0 victory for the 'Pies is certainly within the realm of possibility, provided we maintain our focus and stay sharp at the back. A solid defensive performance will be crucial in keeping Barrow at bay and securing those all-important three points. It’s going to be a thrilling encounter, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds.
  12. Stuart Maynard stepping up from part-time to full-time operations seamlessly indicates that he's not only adaptable but ready for the challenge. It's promising to hear about the extended contact time with players; it means they'll be well-versed in his tactics come game day. The squad needs to absorb Maynard's philosophy like a sponge to revitalise our performances on the pitch. Another point of optimism is the squad's camaraderie, crucial when the pressure is on. United teams can overperform their individual capabilities, and I'm keen to see how this unity translates into on-field tactics against a strong Barrow side.
  13. Cameron's clarity of purpose in a time of managerial shifts is commendable. His focus on routine and collective responsibility is the hallmark of good leadership. His comments give us fans a sense of calm and assurance. That kind of discipline and unity is what translates to points on the board, and Maynard's guidance seems to be in good resonance with the team's spirit.
  14. I understand what you’re saying, but I believe that’s just his nature. He’s become less grumpy over the years and more humorous, he seems to have ceased being resentful around the mid 00s.
  15. Hello, @Morten Johansen. I am delighted to see you joining in, this is late but another welcome wouldn't harm.
  16. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, I haven't regretted joining this past June. So, hello @Robbie__64. You will be made to feel at home here.
  17. Williams' dedication and deep insights into the team's performance are commendable. His consideration for players' personal lives during Christmas is something not many coaches highlight. This balance between personal time and professional commitments is indeed crucial.
  18. We mustn’t overlook the value that David McGoldrick adds with his experience, which is likely to be crucial. The comeback of Kyle Cameron is equally significant. If our defence can stay composed and perform their duties, we stand a good chance of competing. While it may seem improbable that we’ll win, we need to maintain our belief. After all, the players need something to inspire them as they prepare for the match.
  19. I've said it before, I'm more interested in who is here and those who do care about the site. Casual users are great, and I'll treat everyone the same, but I do enjoy the regulars because it makes the community feel more than just an online forum. I'm not bothered if people read this and think, "What's the point in posting here?" as clearly those types don't understand.
  20. I hope people don't think we're all related to Dan Crowley when they read this. He's been amazing, a crucial part of what makes this League Two team successful. Luke Williams got a really good squad, but the decision to sign Crawley to work under Williams is a great achievement for the recruitment team. If you look at any home game this season, he's been in the running for Man of the Match most of the time, and he's won it several times.
  21. I’m really taken by Williams’ vision for Notts County. It’s clear that the key to a bright future for this club lies in nurturing the young talents. It’s heartening to see such dedication to youth development!
  22. Incredible shot on goal, no one can deny his intent. He hit the ball with superb skill and it soared straight into the net.
  23. Yes, our academy merits praise. The intense competition and emerging talent are truly impressive. It reflects the players’ and coaches’ hard work and dedication. These promising young talents are pushing boundaries, making it an exciting time for our club.
  24. Williams' pre-match insights are enlightening. Let's carry the same energy forward but it's a shame we couldn't give Shrewsbury a run for their money!
  25. Morias is a true team player. His commitment towards the squad and the game is commendable. Deserves more game time.
