  1. I believed Notts County would deliver a strong performance, but everything fell apart the moment Dan Crowley scored. It's puzzling how that happened. Gillingham managed the fans better, showcasing their fighting spirit. While we performed admirably at their stadium, yesterday's game felt like a different squad entirely. Though it was a closer match, our chances of getting back into the game seemed unlikely. Criticising Macaulay Langstaff for the few chances he had appears unjust. He had to capitalise on the opportunities, especially when David McGoldrick attempts to control every ball, regardless of the angle.
  2. The prospect of seeing a new dynamic with Maynard at the helm is indeed exciting. His arrival brings a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of optimism to the team. His leadership style and tactical acumen could potentially transform the way we play, bringing about a positive change that we’ve all been eagerly anticipating. As for the upcoming match, a tight 1-0 victory for the 'Pies is certainly within the realm of possibility, provided we maintain our focus and stay sharp at the back. A solid defensive performance will be crucial in keeping Barrow at bay and securing those all-important three points. It’s going to be a thrilling encounter, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds.
  3. Stuart Maynard stepping up from part-time to full-time operations seamlessly indicates that he's not only adaptable but ready for the challenge. It's promising to hear about the extended contact time with players; it means they'll be well-versed in his tactics come game day. The squad needs to absorb Maynard's philosophy like a sponge to revitalise our performances on the pitch. Another point of optimism is the squad's camaraderie, crucial when the pressure is on. United teams can overperform their individual capabilities, and I'm keen to see how this unity translates into on-field tactics against a strong Barrow side.
  4. Cameron's clarity of purpose in a time of managerial shifts is commendable. His focus on routine and collective responsibility is the hallmark of good leadership. His comments give us fans a sense of calm and assurance. That kind of discipline and unity is what translates to points on the board, and Maynard's guidance seems to be in good resonance with the team's spirit.
  5. I understand what you’re saying, but I believe that’s just his nature. He’s become less grumpy over the years and more humorous, he seems to have ceased being resentful around the mid 00s.
  6. Hello, @Morten Johansen. I am delighted to see you joining in, this is late but another welcome wouldn't harm.
  7. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, I haven't regretted joining this past June. So, hello @Robbie__64. You will be made to feel at home here.
  8. Williams' dedication and deep insights into the team's performance are commendable. His consideration for players' personal lives during Christmas is something not many coaches highlight. This balance between personal time and professional commitments is indeed crucial.
  9. We mustn’t overlook the value that David McGoldrick adds with his experience, which is likely to be crucial. The comeback of Kyle Cameron is equally significant. If our defence can stay composed and perform their duties, we stand a good chance of competing. While it may seem improbable that we’ll win, we need to maintain our belief. After all, the players need something to inspire them as they prepare for the match.
  10. I've said it before, I'm more interested in who is here and those who do care about the site. Casual users are great, and I'll treat everyone the same, but I do enjoy the regulars because it makes the community feel more than just an online forum. I'm not bothered if people read this and think, "What's the point in posting here?" as clearly those types don't understand.
  11. I hope people don't think we're all related to Dan Crowley when they read this. He's been amazing, a crucial part of what makes this League Two team successful. Luke Williams got a really good squad, but the decision to sign Crawley to work under Williams is a great achievement for the recruitment team. If you look at any home game this season, he's been in the running for Man of the Match most of the time, and he's won it several times.
  12. I’m really taken by Williams’ vision for Notts County. It’s clear that the key to a bright future for this club lies in nurturing the young talents. It’s heartening to see such dedication to youth development!
  13. Incredible shot on goal, no one can deny his intent. He hit the ball with superb skill and it soared straight into the net.
  14. Yes, our academy merits praise. The intense competition and emerging talent are truly impressive. It reflects the players’ and coaches’ hard work and dedication. These promising young talents are pushing boundaries, making it an exciting time for our club.
  15. Williams' pre-match insights are enlightening. Let's carry the same energy forward but it's a shame we couldn't give Shrewsbury a run for their money!
  16. Morias is a true team player. His commitment towards the squad and the game is commendable. Deserves more game time.
  17. Watching the match, I was particularly impressed with how Notts County handled the dual threats of fatigue and an energetic opposition. Initially, it looked like fatigue might cost us the game, but when the substitutes came on, they added a new layer of aggression and dynamism. Full credit to Williams for his smart substitutions! The match had a high tempo throughout, resulting in a few casualties on our end, but the lads managed to push through and clinch a win. It's clear to see how much this victory meant to everyone, not just for the morale, but also for the solidarity it fostered.
  18. It's hard to swallow such a hard defeat and the subsequent brutal assessment from our coach, Luke Williams. Yet, perhaps it’s the transparency we need to catalyse changes in our performance. The lack of composure and control during the first half was evident, and it's time for a review of strategies. Looking at Wimbledon, we need to emulate their fantastic energy and upright performance. On a positive note, Aaron Nemane's goal gives us something to celebrate amidst the harsh realities. Here's hoping we make a comeback stronger and more determined.
  19. Such an insightful read! Highlights the resilience of the team and the leadership of players like Dan. Here's hoping we get our injured players back soon.
  20. Williams astutely recognises Wimbledon’s unity as their strength, making them a tough opponent. He also emphasises the need for Notts County to connect with their fans, subtly highlighting the importance of public support. This shows his empathetic leadership style, considering both the opposition and audience expectation.
  21. It wouldn’t be suitable to have safe standing in the middle of the KOP or at higher levels. It should be in a location that’s easy to access and safe, away from other areas. A spot behind the goal and upwards wouldn’t be a poor choice. The lower left KOP Pavis side might not be too bad. The same could be applied to the Pavis, on the lower right KOP side.
  22. Is it likely that Dan Gosling will have his first start? It seems doubtful, but we’re in a good position to perform well away from home. The back three, Kyle Cameron, Richard Brindley, and Aden Baldwin, are a given. Remember, Jodi Jones is suspended!
  23. Encouraging news, many fans who attended seemed happier. However, it’s crucial that we invest money to benefit from the larger crowds Notts are attracting. The club has always had the potential to draw good crowds, it just needed owners who would let the staff do what’s necessary.
  24. The pub is a brilliant plan, the KOP's been longing for something of this sort for ages. If the club and owners keep putting the earnings back in, the facilities around the entire ground will only get better. It's a lovely upgrade!
  25. It takes a strong leader to openly accept the shortcomings. What we saw in the first half was commendable. Williams' vision splendidly executed. But the stark difference in the performance in the second half was jarring. On a positive note, it gives a clear area of focus, to maintain that momentum and not to let it fade. Looking forward to the next Notts match.
