  1. George Foreman was one of the few boxers who truly changed their life for the better after retirement. A class act.
  2. Welcome to PON, @ASHLEY GUY.
  3. Being nearer to home will hopefully benefit him, though I do wonder how he’s adjusting to a new squad and the challenge of making new friends in this environment. Depression is tough, so my thoughts are with him, and I truly value what he accomplished during his time at Notts.
  4. I don’t think comparing training to actual game time is a fair comparison; it’s like apples and oranges. Some fans believe he had a chance to impress in matches, but the fact is he’s had fewer opportunities than Mai Traore and some of the other signings the club has persisted with. I don’t believe training has anything to do with this, not at all. I think it’s more about his position and possibly his height. Notts seem to believe we don’t need many options up front. With Junior Morias’s height up against a lot of League Two teams with tall defences, I think that’s the real issue. I’m among the fans who hope he gets a chance, as I feel let down by the way Notts have treated him. As for his eligibility, there is no restriction from him playing for Dagenham & Redbridge and Woking in the National League. Players can compete in Non-League football without it causing issues in the English Football League. The two-team rule only applies in League Two and higher, not in Non-League and below. As long as his registration is processed, there will be no restrictions stopping him from playing.
  5. Do you think that if Notts were promoted this season, the club could improve enough to remain in League One? It’s a much tougher league, with teams that have far more quality. My concern is that most supporters may not be patient enough to see Notts rebuild and take the time needed to strengthen. With the performances we’re seeing now, I wonder if we should focus more on addressing the team’s form to better support our promotion hopes. I might be in the minority here, but while I hope for promotion, I also realise it would take a lot of work, and Notts might not be ready for it yet. I would prefer for the club to be well-prepared and capable of staying up. The current poor form might even reflect some doubts within the team itself.
  6. I think the club should have thought about the relevance before proceeding with this news, making sure fans knew who was who. Not everyone involves themselves with supporter groups or trusts. It's something I have never done; I don't feel the need to be in one. The purpose of supporter clubs is quite dated now, and without prejudice, none of them represent me. I do hope it helps to bridge the trouble caused by former owners, but the club shouldn't just hand anyone importance without earning it. I also don't know who the current SLOs are, and I don't think the fan-elected SLO was ever publicly let go. So what happened there, I do not know. But surely another election should have been conducted?
  7. Hello, @Lullapie. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. This is a great Notts site!
  8. Love the fact that Platt isn’t getting ahead of himself and talking about the title already. Too many teams fall into that trap and lose focus. He’s right, there’s still loads of football to play, and all we can do is take it game by game. The most impressive thing about this run is how solid we’ve looked at the back. For years we’ve relied on outscoring opponents, but this season we look like a proper, balanced team. Port Vale is a big test, but I have faith in this squad. If we can keep picking up clean sheets and grind out results when we need to, there’s no reason we can’t be in the promotion picture at the end of the season.
  9. Notts are in such a strong position now. Maynard deserves credit for keeping the squad motivated and competitive, even when we’ve had injuries. You can tell the confidence is sky-high, and players are stepping up when needed. Keeping so many clean sheets is no fluke, it shows how disciplined and committed we are. The key now is keeping players fit because every game from here on is massive. Losing Jones and McGoldrick, even for a short time, could make things tricky.
  10. Tsaroulla has been a brilliant signing, and you could tell that goal meant a lot to him. His movement off the ball has been excellent, and he fully deserved his moment. I also love his attitude, he’s not just talking about his goal but the team’s defensive improvements and how much the fans push them on. That’s the mentality we need if we’re going to stay in the promotion race.
  11. David McGoldrick is the player who stood out the most for his performance. He delivered a showstopping display and contributed some fantastic moments during the match.
  12. I love the mentality Bedeau talks about, taking it one game at a time. We’ve seen how tight League Two can be, and it’s all about consistency. The fact that he and the squad are so focused on the defensive side of things is really encouraging. Last year, we’d have struggled to see out games, but now we’re managing them much better. The home form is massive too, and he’s right, Meadow Lane is a tough place for teams to come. If we can keep making it a fortress, those points will add up quickly. Really impressed with how we’re shaping up, and it’s great to see the players enjoying their football.
  13. Burnley 2-2 Watford QPR 1-0 Preston North End Blackpool 1-0 Stevenage Northampton Town 1-2 Charlton Athletic Chesterfield 2-0 AFC Wimbledon Morecambe 0-1 Bromley Hartlepool United 2-0 Yeovil Town Wealdstone 0-3 Dagenham & Redbridge joker
  14. Luton Town 1-1 Swansea City Plymouth Argyle 2-2 Oxford United Blackpool 2-0 Rotherham United Cambridge United 1-0 Shrewsbury Town Crawley Town 1-2 Stevenage Gillingham 0-0 Salford City Harrogate Town 3-1 AFC Wimbledon Newport County 0-2 Carlisle United Joker
  15. I can see both sides of the coin here. While it’s frustrating to see us struggle without key players, it’s allowed the others to shine. Players like Austin and Gordon may not have made the same impact if they were competing with a fully fit squad. The return of those injured will no doubt push our performance further, but it’s the experience gained during these tough times that could prove invaluable. Maynard’s biggest task will be integrating everyone back into the squad, ensuring both old and new stay motivated. I’m cautiously optimistic about what the rest of the season holds.
