Where's All The Money Gone?
@Wheelbarrow repair man I do believe that it is a good thing that the owners are improving the infrastructure at meadow lane including the quality of the playing pitch, & improving the training facilities. But I also believe that the owners need to invest in building a team that can take advantage of those brilliant facilities & get some success for this club. Notts have already bought 8 players into the club for little expense, so if they help the club become successful their value will increase. Let's just see what the next week brings us & see if there are any more incomings as well as outgoings before the Newport match. We also have to realise that if these players are successful & get Notts promoted, Notts will need to recruit players for the next level, & that will probably mean letting players go or selling them on as other promoted clubs have done That's why I would like to see an investor bringing some extra funds into the club because I certainly think the Club would benefit from that.

Who Needs to Step Up for Notts This Season?
I think that Conor Grant had one of his best games for Notts on Saturday. It could be that Conor will flourish under Martin's leadership. At this time all of the Notts squad are going to have to work as hard as they can to impress Martin Paterson. We have already seen that the squad has up'd their game The extra training is doing wonders to improve the fitness of the players which is another important factor. Martin has made it clear that all the players will have to convince him that they should be in the starting eleven. I think this next week could be a pivotal week where we may see some players coming in but also going in the opposite direction.

Viking Sayings.
Talking about Viking heraldry there were four Viking Kings of England between 1013 and 1042 including King Cnut (Canute) the Great who ruled between 1016 & 1035. The viking who invaded England with Tostig in 1066 was not directly related to these four Viking Kings of England. More on the four Viking Kings of England. The Viking DragonThe Four Viking Kings of EnglandThe Vikings were a huge in England for centuries, but never did they hold more power than between 1013 - 1042, when the Danish Jelling Dynasty sat on the English throne.

Where's All The Money Gone?
It hasn't been disclosed how much the new Notts County hybrid SIS pitch with under-soil heating cost the club, however the cost could be between £500K & £1.5 million. I understand club are building a similar hybrid pitch at their new training facility. So the cost of the two pitches could be a minimum of £1million which has to be paid for.

Weekly Chat - Monday 21st to Sunday 26th
It's a dry start to the day here but overcast. We don't have any rain forecast for the rest of the day. @Fan of Big Tone I found that jogging is too much now & prefer walking. It just keeps me active walking a few miles every other day.. it I feel like it I do some exercises & light weights indoors.

I've always been interested in History & I did a project on the Battle of Hastings at school. There is a Viking connection to Harold Godwinson King of England who was killed at the Battle of Hastings. Only a few days before Harold had won a Battle at Stamford Bridge when he killed his brother Tostig Godwinson, Earl of Northumbria & his ally Harold Hardrada, King of Norway, who claimed the English throne. Many forget that it was a famous victory for Harold & possibly changed the course of English History by defeating Harold and his invading Viking Army. England could easily have had a Viking on the throne of England although he would still have had to deal with William of Normandy who was invading England from the South.- Nottingham Evening Post Coverage
They could at least have a digital addition. It wasn't just the major clubs they covered in the County, but also the smaller clubs which you have to go searching for now.- Pre Season Friendly: Notts County v Cardiff City

So pleased for the positive result today. The difference in the team now & the playoff game against Wimbledon is the difference between chalk & cheese. The team definitely have the Martin Paterson influence all over it. To hold a decent league one team to a draw & possibly should have won the game is very encouraging for the season.- Pre Season Friendly: Notts County v Cardiff City

An encouraging performance by the lads. Pity about the Cardiff 2nd goal but all in all Martin should be pleased with some of the Notts play today. Looks like the team is beginning to play as a Paterson team now.- Pre Season Friendly: Notts County v Cardiff City
