I listened to Sonny's interview, & I learned that he was going to travel to Germany to join the squad there. I presume that he will train with the squad on Friday & be in the match squad on the Saturday. I'm sure that he would have begun his pre season training at Man U so it will be interesting to see if Martin plays him against Kaiserslautern.

Hi all. Unfortunately I had an uncomfortable night due to the heat, but also it seemed when I sat out briefly in the sun yesterday I was bitten by an insect on my lower left leg at the back. It was itching like crazy & didn't get to sleep till around 3 am. So I spent some time doing the word games on PON. A few years ago I got bitten on the leg & finished up going to the Doctor to have a course of penicillin, so I'm keeping a close eye on this latest bite. Must have given you are scare @Fan of Big Tone with the fire engine coming across red lights. There's so much traffic now that emergency vehicles have to zig zag their way through traffic. Having been a professional driver delivering in Nottingham & the Towns around it. I witnessed quite a few times, Police cars, Ambulances & Fire Engines would jump red lights & go across junctions.

It's a very surprising & underwhelming transfer for Didzy in his twilight years as a player. I can understand why he was attracted to Barnsley, Didzy knows the Barnsley Boss Conor Hourihane very well so that friendship must have been a big factor with Didzy's decision to join them. At least Didzy will be playing in League 1 so it's a blessing that he didn't join a league 2 club, because it would have been tough watching him playing against Notts. I would have loved Didzy to have ended his playing career with Notts by signing for another year, but it wasn't to be. I wish him luck at his new club, & hope he can help Barnsley achieve success.

Good evening all. It's been a very warm day here with lots of sunshine. We both went out to sit in the Sun during the afternoon, but even though we were under a large parosel I had set up, it was too hot for staying out too long. Watched Diehard two in the evening. Bruce Willis is one of my favourite Actors. It's a shame that he is having long term health issues now. It's 78 Deg F at the moment in the house even though we've had the fans on all day. Another uncomfortable night awaits. Pleased that we have a British team into the final of the men's doubles at Wimbledon for the first time since 1960, & they have a good chance of winning it.

The weekly chat thread should continue because it encourages interaction, & what's great about the thread is one can talk about lots of different things going on in ones life, & any subject that one wishes to talk about from the weather, to going on holiday.

Pre Season Schedule for the Notts Women's team.

He's a very good signing by Notts & he comes to the club with a very good reputation. Coming from Man United too is a great coup for Notts. The Man U academy is one of the best, if not the best academy in the Country. I don't think that he would have come to Notts if he wasn't going to play a fair number of games in the Notts first team. I think that Martin Paterson has a lot to do with him coming to Notts. Another good thing about this signing is that Notts are getting a good reputation for bringing on academy players signed from PL clubs. George Abbott was a success story. I wouldn't bet against Sonny Aljofree having the same impact & success.

We have a new Head Coach in Town & I'm sure he's had input into the acquisition of Sonny Aljofree. Every single Notts player doesn't have a right to a first team place. Every single one of them are going to have to justify to the new Head Coach why he should pick them in the starting eleven. So we are going to have to wait & see what his opening league 2 team sheet against Newport will be. I suspect all options are on the table.

He's a good signing for Notts & comes to Notts with a good reputation. Somehow, I don't think that Man U have sent Sonny to Notts to sit on the substitutes bench. Sonny had 25 games at Accrington, where by all accounts he was well liked. I'm sure that he will be expected to get a regular place in the Notts defence Sonny needs plenty of game time. & I suspect that he will get that at Notts. This means that there may be a player or two either being sold or sent on loan from Notts.

I can feel that the Notts fan base have become much more encouraged for the season after listening to Martin's interviews since he becomes Head Coach. There is a determination to succeed in Martin's rhetoric & I am beginning to believe that a Martin Paterson Notts team will be subtly different to a Stuart Maynard one I don't think that the latest video of Notts players training with weights & practicing boxing moves was released by accident. I think that Martin does want the Notts players to be tougher, stronger & more physical than we've seen them during the last few years. The players are definitely going to see a different kind of regime at Notts from the ones we have been used to recently.
