It's been a pleasant warm day here. I fitted posts buddies to my fence posts today to give them some extended life. I also spent time in the garden cutting down dead flowers and generally tidying up. We've been waiting for our plant delivery to come. We received a part delivery on Wednesday, but although the second package was out for delivery yesterday it didn't arrive. Thankfully we received it today, so the work begins tomorrow. We'll be making up pots, & hanging baskets.

When it's the close season I do miss the build up to each match including the pre match presser, the anticipation as the match gets closer & the discussions on social media. A I mentioned in another thread, with work commitments reducing my attendance at matches, I would listen to the Radio build up & commentary in my Truck, in between deliveries, on a Saturday or Sunday Apart from Notts I love all sport such as Cricket and Tennis & I follow Notts & England Cricket during the summer months. As well as following Notts I follow Nottingham Panthers too, however the Magpies will always be my number one.

I was disappointed when Lee Carsley didn't get the senior England managers job. I thought his England under 21 sides are very entertaining, & he could have easily transitioned to the senior side.

Let's go back to how Football was supposed to be. Controlled by a Referee & two Linesmen. Most of the time they get decisions right but they are only human. VAR makes big mistakes & it has changed the game for the worse. Just get rid of it.

I used to attend on a regular basis between 1967 & 1988 & stand in the county road stand. Since 1988 I worked at the weekend as part of my working week so my attendance at games were very limited to holidays or rest days. Since retirement I haven't been able to go to games but hope to at some point in the future. Since the new ground was constructed I've sat in the Pavis in different areas depending on availability.
